I don't like the way that the black family is interpreting how the white family has to be in order to be fully functional in black society. It's overhyped stereotypes... and they of all people should KNOW better. Sure there are certain mannerisms that they do need to change, but other than that - its about being who YOU are, not what you can conform to.

I disagree Moreniqua. There are a lot of white people that are concerned about black people and genuinely care about them. It is unfair to classify all white people into one general category, just as it is unfair to classify all black people into one category. There are many good black and white people in the world. So to me it would be best to classify people into 2 different categories: good people and bad people. Unfortunately that is not possible in the world we live in.

It seems like this show started out with an agenda from the very beginning. Personally, I think the adults of both sides were just...wow. They obviously had ideas of what the other side is like. The kids, unfortunately, seem to be the most open minded. Ireland was Englands Orignal slaves As they are the closest island to them.
they also went for cheaper than Black slaves, and some mixed raced people in places like the West Indies descend from irish and black slaves who were made to have children.
the irish was also taken as slaves by muslims.
Irish people unlike black people have never been given a public apology for the slavery and racism they have endured .

It seems like this show started out with an agenda from the very beginning. It's like they took a bunch of people who have very set ideas of what race means and were so stuck in steriotypes they lost sight of what it means to be HUMAN. From what I've seen of this show, it seems to just steriotype people and pull different cultures further apart. I'm not really sure what the point is...

Personally, I think the adults of both sides were just...wow. They obviously had ideas of what the other side is like. The kids, unfortunately, seem to be the most open minded. This was a good experiment, too bad it wasn't on tv long. It shows that everyone does follow stereotypes and that racism still exists. :(

A lot of white people's impression of blacks just comes from music and tv. As a kid I didn't know any black people so to me black equaled MC Hammer and Michael Jordan. A lot of whites treat blacks like some sort of celebrity or curiosity. Like the woman in the video saying white people come up to her and talk for no reason, it's because they're like "Wow! A black person! I want a black friend!"
