  • hitting the weight wrong ..after u lift it up u almost drop it all the way down

    You should hit every rep at the same speed going up and down

  • wow your about as strong as I am! except I can do 180lbs x 10, 190lbs x 7, 200lbs x5, and my max is 220lbs right now and my goal is 255lbs in july 2011

  • @tekster300 225 is easy ... i would just recommend strength training ... do heavy sets of 5 or less x 3 sets with 3 minutes of break. I was at a max of 275 before i stopped benching

  • another thing is to fill a backpack up with rocks (upto 50lbs) hug it and swing your torso side to side as fast as you can. cause its all about torso twist.

  • if you want to be strong, take the weights off and swing the empty rod back and forth as fast as you can while jumping up and down (if you want some cardio workout) this give you FAST TWITCH SPEED which is all that matters. if you turn your triceps into grasshopper legs, you become a killing machine.

    do 5 sets of 8,4,2,4,8

    so 8 reps first set, 4 next, than 2, than back to 4 than 8 again

    trust me dude it works

  • if you want a tip from a fellow 18 year old; a tip I can give you is to vary your workouts, don't follow the same routine all the time, play with different repetitions, weight, sets and inclination. Go through phases and recover properly after the hard phases...

  • Good job. I'm 6'1" and my one rep max is around 330lb. If you are trying to get your one rep up you have to lift heavy. More reps will just get you more defined . . .less reps more weight

  • pull your shoulder blades together arch your bach sticking your chest up kepp your ass on the bench keep your elbows tucked in and push with your lats if that makes since to you. nice lifting by the way

  • hey man, we are the exact same weight and height we can max the same 250? but i got more reps just one pointer breath out when you press up you'll probably find that you can get a couple more reps in

  • i could rep it more than 5 times. that day i was feeling extremely weak. the most i ever did was 7 reps with 205. and nice for your max

  • first of all, get a spotter. Even though you can do that safety first. 2nd of all, breath in when you go down and exhale and explode going up. Do it every rep and you'll feel less tired and out of breathe

  • Good job. I would suggest that you spread your feet out a little and plant them firmly on the floor. You'll get more leg drive that way.
