neat how tracy porter is part of the biggest plays in back to back playoff years. 1 good (superbowl), 1 bad (getting ran over by lynch). goes to show how fortunes change so quickly in pro sports. hero one moment, getting embarassed the next.

@JtheWun When Porters career is over,believe me,this INT of Manning and the one of Favre 2 weeks prior is what people will remember most. The run by Lynch is a perfect example of why the first tackler needs to wrap up the ball carrier and the second guy in is the one who should go for the strip. LB Scott shanle is the one who should be embarrassed on that play,not Porter. He had Lynch stopped for a 2 yd run if he had just wrapped up.

Funny how you can watch something a thousand times and notice something you didn't see before. This play happened because of the GREAT pass rush by right side defensive end Will Smith. Smith got pass the block of the left tackle and Manning had to throw the ball sooner than the play is designed for. That gave Tracy Porter a chance to jump the route quicker and make the INT. Way to go, Will!

Don't lie to yourself, there was no block in the back. People are just butthurt and love to discredit championships. Take it from a Steelers fan, it's hard for your team to win anything without other fans trying to discredit their accomplishments. I can admit the officiating in SBXL was bad but it's not like referee Bill Leavy ran 75 yards for a TD. And now that they lost a SB people like to rub it in my face though with 2 rings I'm not mad. Saints won fair and square, period.

That's the beautiful part of this game ( history ) It's something they can never take away from you. We could have beaten the colts 49-0 and someone out in cyberspace would have posted something trying to discredit it. Just remember what Abe Lincoln once said. "You can't please all of the people all of the time" sit back and just watch them make fools of themselves ;)

@Hlover01 1. you're an idiot. manning was told to throw the game? present your solid evidence, please. 2. let's play devil's advocate; say it was a block in the back, the interception would not have been taken away, only the touchdown. the colts failed to score again in the game, and if anything they would have had less time to score another touchdown (which they needed, as the score was still 24-17) with another saints possession, especially with this momentum.

@vanzan5 1. insults do not help your cause. 2. why would manning, one of the most accurate throwers, intently throw more to tracy porter than reggie wayne. and manning would have seen austin collie wide open in the middle of the field. 3. manning looked angry pre game and all throughout the game. some might argue that it's his 'game face' but wouldnt you be mad too if someone told you to throw the super bowl? and 4. thefixisin . net has way more information/evidence on it then i could fit here

@Hlover01 manning threw it directly to wayne, porter made a good (or maybe lucky) read and stepped in front. and are you seriously saying that because manning looked angry before the game (as he ALWAYS does) that gooddell himself told manning to throw the game? that's a ludicrous assessment, at best. you have yet to show any form of evidence at all regarding that. what's in it for peyton? furthermore, a poorly run blog that doesn't even address the super bowl doesn't count as evidence

@Hlover01 and this will be my last post because this debate is like talking with a bitter child after he got cut from the soccer team. you still did not address how the lack of block in the back call would affect the outcome. if there was a call, the saints take over at their own 40ish yard line, with three minutes left. one first down, game over. even if they didn't, three inside runs, 2:30ish left on the clock for the colts to go probably 90+ yards with no timeouts, needing 7 points to tie.

@kingfish4242 I was very upset when the Bucs won a SB before the Saints,but good lord after a few days, i was over it and started looking forward to the next season. The last thing that ever crossed my mind during that time was the NFL somehow rigged the game so the historically bad Tampa Bay Bucs could finally hoist a Lombardi. Tell you what though. It feels damn good to be a lifelong fan of a team that a lot of people hate now :) Nobody hates a losing team,many hate winners like the Saints.

for all of you saying the play should have been called back because of a block in the back ask yourself this. Do you honestly believe Manning had a snowballs chance in hell of tackling Porter? Refs can and do make judgement calls. It was a block to the right shoulder anyway,so technically the question is irrelevent.
