  • @nizzbomb69 thank you sir thats fucking crazy having only 3 people in the band playing stuff like this.

  • Spin front, rear, front, rear... Awesome!

  • name of song?

  • @Mrboostpsi chevelle - the clincher

good heavy band esp for only 3 people bein in it

  • nice u were off the line before the other car new what hit him sweet.

  • There seems to be a bit of a spring type action as the power bounces front to back. Could this be a disadvantage over a welded diff?

  • Of course there's all the comments about it being a side to side power shift, but it's a funny coincidence that it is perfectly in sync as if it was front to back. I don't buy it.

  • @reddot44 I noticed the same thing. It's definitely not ideal when the power is shifting back and forth between the front and rear. It's prob something with the center diff that sends the power to the rear. I'm guessing this video was made to track down things like this.

  • @wantapgt actually it is ideal for launching...in fact, mitsubishi designed an entire full time 4wd system known as viscous realtime 4 (aka VR4) which was installed into a few of mitsubishi's flagship vehicles such as the gallant, diamante and 3000gt. The idea behind it is that whenever you break traction the power is diverted from the slipping wheels to the gripping wheels.

  • @PABLORL1989

My apology, should have read full post. However, 1g 4g63 cranks can easily handle 700+ hp. Just make sure you get better bushings.

  • @PABLORL1989

Why are you changing the crank? Out of every component in the 1g 4g63, the crank is the strongest. If you are trying for more hp, start with the rods and pistons.

  • chevelle playin to a dsm video lol

  • @isphius i know. this'll get those bowtie fanboys angry.IMPORTS 4 LIFE. I drive a 480whp nissan coupe.

  • @spencermel it still amazes me how all those parts hold together hwen they go through this lol

  • @isphius you can chryo treat drivetran parts.and get really good quality parts always.

  • @spencermel Bowtie fans angry?? Nahhh I drive a '00 GMC Jimmy & a '92 Talon Tsi AWD hehe, big fat bullseyepower turbo on that too.

  • Why do the back wheels stat spinning then stop then the front spin and stop and repeat that process?

Sorry, I'm not to good with cars so excuse me if this is a stupid question

  • Cool to see the open diffs work against each other

  • The black car is my buddys car, its got more done to it now, I think he runs a FP3065 now... plus other goodies.

  • damn he got his reaction time down

  • both these DSM's must be running 2 seconds in the 1/4 mile... notice how noone in the backround moves an inch! xD

  • So badass how it claws its way outta the hole.

  • this video made me fall in love with my DSM, again haha

  • Who gave this a thumbs down? What a chub!

  • I love thais shit mate! Makes want to go out and drive mine right now!!!

  • that is the most sexy thing i have ever laid eyes on, and the music fits it very well, this clip should be in the modern day musium of art.

  • I LOVE IT!!! and i love your choice of music!!

    CHEVELLE!! haha

  • dam i wish i had a AWD. too bad mine is a FWD

  • damn awd is sick at the track

  • you can see the front and back shift back and forth :D

  • whats the name of this song

  • chevelle the clincher :)

  • Does it have the orange sticker....unless the rear diff was swapped then it doesn't matter I find it hard to believe it has an LSD and it slips like that........?

  • @lars88keys

An 11-second car getting launched at 5000rpm+ and you don't think it's going to slip some? lol

  • @Pube83

...yep if it runs 11's sure there will be slip.. but on that same note, If it runs 13's with bad tires it will slip..

  • @lars88keys What are you talking about? ALL AWD dsm's have an "LSD" between the front and rear... it's called the VISCOUS COUPLER. The orange sticker only indicates the rear diff is LSD which would allow it to LOCK under certain situations instead of spinning the wheel with no traction in the rear SET only. Has nothing to do with front-to-rear power distribution. That's the viscous coupler's job.

  • @mikeymike4g63

"..really whats going on is not front to back, its side to side, since the diff(s) is/are throwing the power side to side.. one would assume if front to back but its not. "

So in other words, yes the Viscous is doing its job transferring power front to back. As both you and I both pointed out.

  • Well seeing as this guy and his friend work on my dsm, I know a little about this car, its getting redone right now and simply sits in his garage... nice car at the time of this video, but no this car runs low 11's i believe not 7's ROFL

  • gst or gsx ?

  • gsx, it has all wheel drive, gst is only front wheel drive

  • hmmmmm wow r u serious?

  • sorry don´t see the tittle! of vid!

    gsx ;)

  • gsx it says all wheel drive =-D

  • what was the 60' time??

  • since that talon runs a 7.70 quarter at 197, id ventue to say a very fast 60

  • so you dont know then.

  • Is that the turbo and manifold glowing at :30? Mine will always do that after running hard but Ive always seen it with the hood open

  • no doofus its the spring assembly. lol how could you see the manifold from this angle?

  • Because a lot of racers take out the wheel wells to save weight, at which point it would be very possible.

  • i suppose but this car is hardly that class..... you can tell its not unlimited ultra modified class. those fenderwells are part of the 'frame' since it's a unibody :/

  • sick sick sick...awd dsm all the way

  • wow coolist thing ive seen in a while

  • i wont ever fuck with a all wheel drive car

    cause youl get smoked

  • Also here is a quick differential lesson for people that don't know..

An open differential is one that splits power between a wheel that has grip and one that doesn't, an open differential will send power to the wheel thats slipping hoping that it gets grip.

A limited slip differential "limits" slip and will send more power to the wheel that grip's with out fully removing power from the wheel that is slipping.

Then you have center diffs the split power front to rear.

  • Just so you guys know...

Mitsubishi's came with rear LSD's standard.

Plymouth/Eagle's had rear LSD's as an option.

That laser has open diff's front and back hence why you see the front spin and the rear spin and the front spin and the rear spin...really whats going on is not front to back, its side to side, since the diff(s) is/are throwing the power side to side.. one would assume if front to back but its not.

  • Wrong, his car has LSD, trust me I know the guy..., and its an eclipse I'm pretty sure. Although same difference really.

  • @lars88keys it IS shifting power from the front and rear. The viscous coupler is sensing the front wheels have no traction because of the weight shifted during launch so it sent the power to the rear wheels.

  • @mikeymike4g63

...what are you talking about? ... heh.. i think you may have misread my post go back to page 3.. I wrote that its not a front to back issue, it was side to side. Somebody else before my post I believe had said something about it being a front to back issue, and I said it was not.

  • On a different note: "A little more slower"? Really? Is our children learning?

  • Do you mean "Are our children learning?"

  • it's not spinning front to back, It's spinning side to side. I'll bet you anything it's not welded. If it was they would all be in sync. It has a viscous lsd in the front and in the back.

  • cool thats the first slow mo dsm launch ive seen.

  • its because the centre is welded, so when the front slips, it tensions the rear, so then the rear slips, and tensions the front axle, so on and so forth until they both even out, if you watch a real wheel drive car turn and get axle chatter, it will help you get what i mean

  • can someone explain to me what happpened? the all the wheels spun, then the front then the back,...what?

  • thats bad ass you can see the car twist a little

  • nice eclipse

  • around how much does a eclipse 1g and 2g cost ?

  • damn that other guy was sleeping at the light

  • Would be better with some music.......

  • Very nice vid.. Thats crazy

  • pretty sick

  • if only those were slicks:/

  • very cool and great music at the same time, top notch buddy

  • FAIL! Bad music.....

  • SICK VID MAN!!! Great Idea

  • do work son lol.

  • what a wicked idea awesome vid, AWD DSM all the way

  • Thats bad ass

  • o sHIt this looks freken Ko0l

  • MAN THIS IS ONE CLEAN 1G. I REMEMBER SEEING AND THINKING THAT TO MYSELF AT THE SHOOT OUT. BUT YEAH YOU HAVE2 LOVE AWD. ITS THE ONLY WAY TO PUT DOWN SOME REAL POWER!!!

    DSM-4-LIFE

    FFR-AWDbacon 91 talon tsi awd

  • ya but everytime you got to go from a roll from all the douche bags that wanna race, i tell them you dont start from a roll at the drag strip...but yeah i get in arguements about it cuz i try to take advantage of AWD :P, i have a 95 tsi awd talon btw

  • NICE

  • i am a subi guy but dsm dominate

    so much power

    4g63 rocks!

  • does anyone know the torque split?? is it really 50/50 ....60/40

  • 50/50

  • thats funny as shit

  • that 1g is very very beautiful i wish mine was that nice

  • lol that shit is sick. dsm 4 life

  • The guy in the Green Talon is my buddy Jeff!!!

  • nice dsm you got :P

  • Why thank you :) She's goin' through a complete makeover right now...new engine, FMIC, fuel, everything...she's gonna be quite the sexxy bitch. :)

  • this is amazing..

  • that shit is awesome.

  • what song is that

  • Chevelle - "The Clincher"

  • Wow. Id like to see how a gsx with a welded center diff launches~

  • what kind of centre diff do these cars have?

  • Viscous.

  • amen

  • to DroverChicago

  • on a AWD, LSD doesnt make much of a difference, you should know that GSX boy, Ive owned a 92 GSX with LSD, a 96 GSX With LSD and now im on a Galant Vr-4 so I DO know what I am talking about.

  • lol its so cute when DSM guys start talking

  • LSD makes a big difference in cornering, especially in limited-traction situations such as rain or snow. I've owned a Mazda 323GTX and an Eagle Talon TSi both without rear LSD, and a Subaru WRX with rear LSD. All three were prone to understeer, but the difference with the WRX was that, with power going to the outside rear wheel, the back end to come around pretty quickly. On the non-LSD cars, the inside wheels would spin haplessly and the front end would just keep plowing outward.

  • And even in a straight line, once you start putting down serious power, whether that power goes to 2 wheels or 3 wheels can make a difference indeed. It might not make a difference on a stock DSM with around 200HP. But it makes a difference at around 350-400HP.

  • Neato!

  • What makes you think the 1g doesn't?

  • That 2G got schooled off the line!

  • 2g has lsd, plus not that modded as 1g.

  • Sweet video, maybe you should use some more tags though.

  • What center diff and front diff are you running?

  • This is at the shootout?

  • Cool vid! Would like to see one with a welded center diff.

  • Holy FUCK!!!!!! Wuddup turbo brick, it's Don boosted :P

  • 4g63 AWD FTW! ;-)

  • AWDs sure take a beating at the line. Pretty cool.

  • excellent

  • That is BAD ASS!! Awesome video
