I'm so glad folk are chiming in with how awesome this theme is. Musically, there is so much stuff going on. I'd say it would be in a "Top Ten" list of TV show themes of all time...if the supposed judges only rated the list on musical quality / composition / awesomeness.

I watched tis show all the time when I was a kid (seventies) and I never realized then how beautiful she is. It's no wonder that people brought her back from the dead. First example of a strong fanbase getting somebody back.

This is one of my all time favorite TV theme songs. I have vividly remembered since I was a kid at the very end where she is jumping and the "bionic" sound is heard. Most of the versions of this on You Tube don't have that and something is missing without it. Great Job.

the theme music is nice w/ a little touch of saddness, but if u listen to the violins it gives the music depth...u can create something else w/this track but it has to be something that can touch the heart of people...something that will complement the melody itself...

Thanks so much for mixing this. The music is great--this was always one of my favorite tv-themes. I am so glad Lindsay Wagner won an Emmy for her show. To this day, she should have gotten much more credit. She influenced Mariska Hargitay, Kyra Sedgwick, and others. Long live Jamie Sommers.

@ez2me2009 i like what u did w/this melody...i think u enhanced the track a little which really allows the violins to take center stage along w/ the basic drum patterns...this theme score touches the soul...u did a nice job...perhaps, u can do the same for the Mary Tyler Moore & Alice themes...u got 3 thumps up in my book...keep up the good work....and thanks for the memories...

Only other nerds will appreciate it (and most of you probably already know), but the characters of "Oscar" and "Rudy" were two of the first examples of maintaining story continuity between different networks. It has been done since then, but it's less likely now with all trademarks being strongly protected by corporate ownership. (Buffy and Angel weren't allowed to be shown together for awhile when Buffy jumped ship.)

Great theme song. Also, it should be said, great animation -- all those "computer graphics" you see were very futuristic back then and could not be done with a computer. They were animated cells.

I was quite excited myself having preordered mine in september and stayed up all night Oct 19th when they arrived to watch the whole thing. I wasnt particularly impressed that they didnt fix em up and clean up the picture and the sound, but it was still good and now cant wait for the next ones to come out ....... You can hear the love and care they languished on this show. You can see it in the stills. Check out Jamie, Oscar and Rudy laughing together near the end. Those days are over on TV. I don't know how you got this but thank GOD you did. When the show hits DVD it'll be a miracle if the theme sounds anywhere near this good.

one month from today, my childhood wish will finally come true. i will have the origins of the bionic woman in my collection on dvd. as a kid in the early 80's i used to record the bionic woman and six million dollar man episodes with a tape recorder. i was not able to see the picture, but i would listen to the episodes in my room on my tape recorder as i did my homework. i know all the dialog to every episode by heart. and in just a few weeks, i will have the early episodes on dvd.

@petercox9 Hi there! I can relate to what you did in your chilhood. I did the very same thing. I still have those audio cassettes. :-) It's a great thing that the region 1 DVD will be available at last, in october. I believe the quality will be better than my region 2 DVDs. Cheers!

@ez2me2009 oh, i'm so glad i waited and didn't purchase any of those european version copies or any of the bootleg copies that sellers had recorded from the sci-fi network and were charging an arm and a leg for. i can't lie, i was tempted to buy those bootleg copies, but i didn't want to bastardize my glorious memories of the bionic woman with cheap knock offs with poor clarity. you have no idea how excited i am. i'm counting the days. i can hear the theme song in my head now. it was sweet.

@petercox9 I can say that the european DVDs were very good quality. I bought them years ago and I'm glad I did because it helped me to comfortably wait for the north-american release.

@ez2me2009 buying the european versions were not an option for me because i don't have a dvd player that will play pal format or any region besides 1 or 0. still, even though the wait has been for at least the last five years, i am glad that the new release will feature those four pivotal episodes from the six million dollar man. after october, i will be waiting for the six million dollar man episodes which featured steve and jamie battling bigfoot and the fembots. loved the crossover shows.

@ChargerBoySXT yeah, for the most part it was. if i have any complaint, it's that they didn't release season 1 and season 2 together since season 1 was so short. still, when i watched those six million dollar man shows that introduced jamie sommers to the world, i was in heaven. actually, the picture quality was so good to me that i could tell where lee majors' nose had been broken while he was playing pro football. i had never noticed those scars before. thanks for the well-wishes.

i have always loved the bionic woman opening theme...it was so sweet and sentimental...after all, jamie sommers came back from the dead because fans demanded it...when i first saw her die on the six million dollar man, i was nine years old and heartbroken...the bionic rejection episdoes were difficult to watch...jamie was literally losing her mind...they would use strands of the bionic woman theme song whenever jamie and steve were together...they really were the superhero couple of the 80's

I recently saw the original episode that scene was from. The intro was edited. Her facial expression in the episode was actually a reaction to the first use of her legs, not her hand.
