  • Now this is a very rare spectacle, really good job here

  • Wow, never expected to see a video of one of these moving by itself!

  • jap tanks were good in the 30s but during the 40s they were obsolete

  • I'm surprised any survived outside museum pieces.

  • The tank was built to fight the unarmored Chinese or the British armed with older tanks as well. It performed well against ligbht Allied tanks early on in the war.

  • Such an awsome tank

and to all you idiots, this was a great tank when it was made- it could outpreform an m3 stuart, by the way.

  • @mastermagnum100 it got raped by the M3 in Burma though...

  • @redreaper2020

Not really. The British had no tanks in that theatre until the Japanese pushed them into India. The Ha-Go owned the American M3s in the philipines. The M5 might be what you are thinking of.

  • @mastermagnum100 dude, in one engagement, 4 ha-gos ambushed 5 M3 lees. The Lees suffered only dents; the Ha-Gos were totally wiped out. In Imphal, six M3s went against six Ha-Gos and obliterated the Ha-Gos with impunity.

  • @redreaper2020 That really is pathetic, considering all the Lee was, was a giant iron coffin for soldiers.

So bad that the americans had to "Lend-Lease" the shitty tank to make room for something that wouldn't lose the war.

  • @WorstCommenter2008 this isn't "world of tanks". It was designed when the Panzer 3 was the top tank in the world...it totally raped Ha-Gos. There are very few instances of Ha-Gos managing to even damage M3 Lees, and the M3 was very good as a bunker-buster.

As for your comment on "lend-leasing" them, that's total crap. You obviously know nothing about military history or armored warfare. Go back to playing games.

  • @redreaper2020 My opinion on the Lee has nothing to do with World of Tanks thank you very much.

The tank is shit, unless you have actually been in one and destroyed something with that piece of American garbage, don't try to make it look good.

And for the lend lease part, i was not serious about that. But they sure as hell did not want the abomination they had created.

  • @WorstCommenter2008 No. You know nothing about it.

When the Lee was designed and primarily built, the Panzer I/II, BT-2, etc., were the norm. The same frontal armor as a T-34, an effective antitank and an effective anti-infantry weapon (both able to kill its armored competitors), a fantastically reliable suspension and tracks, etc. No, it won't take an 88 broadside and keep going, but in 1941, it was a beast.

I know men still living who did fight and live in those tanks, and they loved them.

  • @redreaper2020 Maybe because those still living men never even saw any action, or maybe they were so crap they didn't just give them a better tank.

Not going to give a good tank to someone who thinks the Lee is a beast. Oh and i don't care WHEN it was designed or how good it was at that time, Obviously it will beat some Light tanks like the pzI/II, considering the PzI was more like a training tank.

All in all, you got your opinion and I got mine. I cannot convince you otherwise, nor vice versa

  • @WorstCommenter2008 well, considering how derisive you've been about the veterans, and that your name is "worstcommenter"...yeah.

  • @redreaper2020 It is just a user name i chose in 2008, people tend to take it more seriously then me.

  • When people talk about WW2 Japanese tank, especially this Type95 Light tank, they tend to forget American M2, Polish 7TP, French R35, German Panzer1

Production of his light tank started 1935. Why do people try to compare this tank with other Mid-size tank like M4 Sherman???????

  • @yuzotasaki To diss the japanese I am assuming.

They should of built heavy tanks õ_õ

  • @yuzotasaki

the same reaspn people compare the M4 sherman with king tigers...

  • That tank for Kamikaze to die

  • even a t-26 can take these out!

  • oh god, might as well ride in a coffin.

  • I saw tin cans that looked more formidable

  • It's amazing how technology has improved. That 120hp, at 14.3 liters, puts out half as much power as a modern 1.6 liter, with maybe 1/10th of the lifetime. It's shocking how in 70 years things have changed so much...

  • 1000 of them against one king tiger - mhh who could win? :D

  • @Wolf9656 King tiger would run outof ammo. Expect if he would kill the rest with MG fire lol

  • @barraki150 mhh 1 bullet for 2 ha-go`s and then he just runs over the others if he hasnt any bullets left :D

  • @Wolf9656 what if he runs out of fuel or the engine breaks down? :P

  • @barraki150 the ha-go´s will break just because of the epic look of the tiger !

  • @Wolf9656 The KTiger wouldnt even have to fight them because all the ha-go crewmembers would get a hearth attack and die when they see him xD

  • @barraki150 word! :D

  • That thing looks deadly......for the riders!

  • why fix that pile of junk? don't you know that was the worst tank ever made by human hand?

  • @hanrinch becuze its a piece of history. its also very rare

  • Wafer thin armour lol

  • Am I the only one who thinks that the Machine-Gun on the right Side of the Turret looks kinda arkward?

  • Now thats a rare little beast. Good to see one running. Aren't many Japanese tanks of the era left.

  • To be fair, its a tank, and a tanks a tank, but this thing looks like its been made out of corrugated iron :\. As someone here said, it was mainly for fighting in China, but ABSOLUTELY outdated by the late 30's and 40's. I do think its a cool looking tank though :D.

  • not bad not bad ;)

  • Absolutly unbeleivable lol i can't do anything but smile when i see these three vids haha i love that tank an see many still surviving is awesome but to see one in virtual mint condition is........im speachless haha :DD nice work!!

  • not to sound Dumb, but did they grind the mum on it too?

  • This should be in a Japanes emuseum, not in american hands

  • @spanish111japan oh really? why is that?

  • @Lumotaku Well, i think that because it's a japanese symbolic tank of wwii, and a piece of history. Wouldn't you like a sherman, for example, in Germany, to be in the USA? Or any tank from your country that is in another country to be in his homeland?

  • @spanish111japan No I want people around the world to see history for themselves there are plenty of japanese tanks in japan and plenty of american tanks in america. The sherman for example fought in Germany shouldnt there be some shermans there for the germans to see? As long as the tank is well maintained and treated with respect I am happy it is where it is. If these people didnt restore this tank nobody would see it.

  • @Lumotaku Well, that's your opinion. But this would fit perfectly in a place like the Yasukuni Shrine

  • @spanish111japan

Well if you want it there so bad Buy it and put it there :) . It's not a sacred relic or anything it's a tank designed to kill people.

  • @Lumotaku For someone it has really an expensive value!

  • @spanish111japan

Well if you want it there so bad Buy it and put it there :) . It's not a sacred relic or anything it's a tank designed to kill people. As for should not be in american hands well let's see we kicked japans ass as I recall unless I read wrong or something this might be what's called the spoils of war.

  • @Lumotaku It's almost a relic! This tank changed hisotry, as did the sherman, or the panzers.

Then let's say... All of the WWII planes in USA are just crap, they are made to kill people, so we can throw them to garbage, can't we :)?

  • @spanish111japan stop going off course buddy nobody wants to scrap this tank or any world war 2 weapon just because it was a killing machine thats why someobody put time and money into making this tank operate again have you done such a thing?

  • @spanish111japan Btw I have a spanish Helmet and a spanish 7mm mauser should I return them to you since they must belong to spain.

  • @Lumotaku Nah they are worthless

  • cant they put some form of catalystic converter on there to stop the polution.

  • @PJ3love there are a lot worse pollutants out there than old tanks. plus, it wouldn't be historically accurate.

  • Shouldn't he be saying "Banzai!!!"

  • im confused somebody restores a japanese tank and the comments are about shermans vs panzers? Heres what it comes down to this tank here would have trouble fighting a stuart light tank.

  • @Lumotaku this tank would have trouble fighting an infantry squad. the armor was designed to fight Chinese infantry, not US tanks.

  • the looks of this tank make up for its downfalls. this thing could chew up infantry i bet

  • us muséum ?

  • Dear NachtAngel ; I'd like to place this"Restored Ha-Go Part 1~3" in my HP.

Is it OK ? PLS contact me. Sep.20,2010

  • First we wanted to destroy these tanks and today we MUST keep these tanks living.

  • @jimmyxx3 YES!

  • おーいえー

    なかなかやるな。

  • i'll buy one as my car...

  • I'm from Japan. It's very cool! Where can I watch this?

  • i wanna ride one of those

  • I'm from Japan, and I agree about the Sherman tank. It would crush the Ha-Go like a soda pop can. But I am happy to see a video like this, always saw them in museums, never got to see one actually move and function.

Japanese Zero's were fast and agile, but they didn't withstand against american planes very well in WWII.

  • DaCosmicCat. Yes it is Japanese Zero can against american plane like wildcat at the first period of the WWII but The last they had pick the Zero and repair for phototype for study about the weak point of Zero to improve the hellcat.

  • The Zero's completely outclassed the P-40's and F4F's and fucked up the US Navy pretty badly considering how American pilots used to scoff at Japanese pilots as bespectacled "squint-eyed" incompetents. Later Japanese fighters such as the N1K2-J and the Ki-100 were equal, if not superior, to the F6F's and the F4U's and served with distinction despite their few numbers.

  • The F4U, from what I read the Japanese would refer it to as the "whistling death" because of the distinct sound it would make flying over them and with their potent 50 caliber machine guns. They were not as agile as the Zeros were, but they could take far more punishment, I think the F6F took abuse just as well..WWII interests me particularly the machines used.

  • Its great to see these Tanks restored, its a big part of history.

  • How does it resemble armor... it's more like a set of tin sheets on tracks.

  • @Zeanu - hence the designation "light tank?"

  • Yeah, but that's pretty light. Like a tankette. It's just funny how the Japanese armor wasn't up to par with the Allied warmachine.

  • @Zeanu - no need to have heavy tank, all Asian warfare are done in island, jungle setting. The heavier the tank, the worse off you will be. Sherman was used there since it is already in existence and to develope another tank to fit the Asian terrain would be waste of money.

  • Hey don't thumb down my comment! Sheesh!

  • If it's a sparkignition engine then it's needing some serious tune up done... something is off with it smoking like that that's incomlete combustion how long before it quits?

  • @marhosan they used a mitsubishi 6cyl in inline air cooled diesel

  • the sherman could destroy this easily

  • It's about the only thing a Sherman could destroy easily too.

  • True that.

  • Really Cthulhu1970? What about the Jumbo Sherman?

  • What about it, calimar28? How many saw service against the Japanese? In fact, how many saw service at all; not many. They were specifically designed for the breakout from the Normandy area. My original comment was only meant as an amusing aside anyway, I hadn't counted on being set upon by Sherman fanboys. lol

  • @Cthulhu1970 Amusing or not, the Jumbo Sherman was a juggernaut against German tanks. German rounds bounced off the Jumbos thick sloping armor, but your right...only a few were made (90?)

  • I've just been looking now, and it seems that they made more than we thought; about 250 apparently. Although they were tougher than regular Shermans, and on paper their performance wasn't effected as much as you would think, they seem to have been prone to getting bogged down to the point where they would become immobile. As I'm sure you know, one of the Shermans weaknesses was it's running gear; and this would be stressed to the limit with an extra 8-10 tons added as well. All very interesting!

  • @Cthulhu1970 mhm Panzer III, Panzer IV, multiple other german Armored Vehicles.

  • @Cthulhu1970 inless you have the sherman firefly :P but that was a british action

  • @Cthulhu1970 and sherman get destroy by panther?

  • @Cthulhu1970

Sherman was a good tank. It was no Panther, but a solid machine none the less. It's a myth that the tank was weak.

  • @askjiir No.

  • @askjiir

The were many tanks weaker than the Sherman in operation at the same time of it's use. Panzer II and III,s and other variants. There were also many superior ones. Besides they upgraded the Sherman later with a 75 mm gun and thicker armor.

  • @Cthulhu1970 Oh really? Lmao you are a fucking retard too Shermans were just as good as t-34's and could easily take out German tanks Just type in M4 Sherman tank and you will get all its specs and how even the Russians say the tank is a fucking outstanding tank. Lmao people like you look stupid when making comments on things you dont know

  • @cut76 You are such a wanker. I DO know about tanks, I've spent my life researching the things. The T34 is a vastly superior vehicle to the Sherman in every way. I'm sorry that your tiny intellect can't get to grips with this fact. It's silhouette was too high for a start, making it an easier target; it's 75mm gun was feeble, it wasn't any good until it was fitted with the British 17pdr. I'm sorry if your national pride is so threatened by the fact that the Russians might do things better.

  • @Cthulhu1970 No you dont if you dont realize that the Sherman was just as good when the firefly got its 17 pounder it was even more deadly. You Sir have no intelect and the Russians did have a better tank but slightly. Read the specs on the web instead of pulling shit out of your ass.

  • @cut76 No dude I think your retarded. The Sherman was not as good as the t-34 and the Firefly version was very few in numbers. Maybe about 1/4-1/5 ratio and it wouldn't matter anyway since a German tank could still take down any foreign tank. Unless it was the lighter Panzer III, but those could still kick ass. Some Tigers took down 150-250 Russian tanks taking little damage, imagine what a Tiger would do to a Sherman.

  • @guy111111111111 One out of five Shermans being a Firefly means 10,000 Fireflies.

  • @jackzero99 That's wrong. Only the British used the Firefly. The British didn't have 50,000 Shermans, that was the total produced by the USA. I'm not sure of the exact number of Fireflies, but I'm sure it was under 2000 (at highest) and probably under 1000. Just to put that out there. Saying that the firefly was a good tank, but still had some flaws, like the armour vs a Tigers gun, and its distinctiveness in comparrison to the rest of the tank troop making it a prime target.

  • @TRUExSIGHTS I was responsding to the poster who claimed 1/5 Shermans were fireflies. I know the numbers were much lower.

  • @jackzero99 Ah ok then my bad. The way your comment was worded though seemed to imply that there were 10,000 fireflies.

  • 動いてる!

  • they should have called it "Ha-Choo", that amount of smoke would cause anyone to sneeze

  • nice work on that restoration. It would be better with a small japanese flag on the front or turret.

p.s to maphisto - you dont banzai in a tank lol

  • i suspect it was made for fighting Infantry and not tanks?

  • Beautifully restored guys. Well done. Want one myself.

  • Damn, that thing is tiny!

  • sweet ride :D

  • Aw - c'mon... tell us about it!

  • Is this vehicle now on public display anywhere?

Where was it found, before restoration?

    Give us more information, please!

  • ...banzai!!!

  • BANZAI!!!

  • Bet it'd be fun to drive one of those things on the road, hehe. Imagine the looks on everyone's faces.

  • Very cool, where do these guys have this thing? Personal collection, or museum?

  • 博物館かどこかで保存されているのだろうか?

    個人で所有なさっていらっしゃるのだろうか?

    Nice work.

  • Banzai any1? :D

  • this could be one of the rarest tanks on earth...

  • This tank is Type95 light tank Ha-Go.

    This is Japanese tank.

    I love it!

  • Good tank? Mabey agianst infintry, but against a Tiger tank...well, no more ha-Go.

  • The Japanese tanks weren't very useful against the American M3 and M4 medium tanks , which were worthless 1 vs 1 against a Tiger.

  • can you say mitsushitty?

  • ok if invading an amish community

  • Lool

  • SMOKE BELCHING!

  • I can't even imagine IS-2 and T34/85's battling these things at the end of the war in China

  • more than likely the t-34s and IS-2 just drove over them

  • Imagine a perishing or Firefly meeting up with one of these.

  • not good for mitsushitty HA-GO

  • Nice resto.....keep history alive!

  • Which museum carry out this meaningful restoration project?

  • Good tank ...
