I used to love these cues as a child. When they reappeared on Batman later on, it got me started noticing credits to see who produced what. Many of them were actually first produced in '72 for Treasure Island, Brady Kids, and the Lassie pilot. Then, '75, Ellis went synth, and it just wasn't the same. I was so happy when Sport Billy brought these cues back briefly in the 80s, before his music was dropped for good. 1:45-1:51 piece was used only once in the series. Have to look for it on the DVD.
Thanks for posting, I'm 44 now and haven't saw this since I was a kid in 1973 or so, An Avid Trekie my entire life, Good to see Captain Kirk "Bill Shatner" in Vancouver to cheer on our Canucks..
Fantastic Job. Even with the voices and other sound effects I would not have minded if you placed the final dramatic action sequence music when the Enterprise drops toward the dead sun in Beyond the Farthest Star (my favorite scene).
This is terrific. I'd love to have (and would buy) a CD of the animated series' music, and you'd figure with Star Trek there'd be an audience for it...in the meantime, thanks for your work here!
The DVD release has the dialogue isolated on the center 5.1 track, so you can rip the other tracks to get just the music and sound effects score. Great stuff.
That would be cool. Exactly how would you do that? I have the DVD's and Sound Forge and would be willing to give it a try. BTW, I rented the New Adventures of Batman for the kids and this same score is used in the later episodes.
@volntn2000 Try DVD Audio Extractor. You'll have to play with it, but you'll get 5 or 6 mono wav files for the complete episode, and then you can convert the two with the music to one stereo track. Another two tracks have the music with a lot of reverb for the back speakers; I don't mix those in, but you could.
@ deconstructionist67 Thanks for the insight. Whew! It took a lot more time than I was expecting...trying to find section with minimal sound effects. I have uploaded a ROUGH video response of my favorite tunes. I'll have to find some extra time to do anymore. Thanks again!
I think you have done a GREAT job!!! I enjoy all the live action series but the Animated is all I have. CBS has a channel right here on YouTube if you like original.

Impressive Music! Filmation, like Hanna-Barbera,had the habit of reusing most of
their background music in many of their cartoons and live TV shows. as for Ray
Ellis,,one of his most fantastic background scores, besides STAR TREK,was his
music from the 1967 "SPIDER-MAN" series that GrantRay Lawrence did for ABC-
now that was music!! as for other Filmation music,Shermely Music used to be the
publisher exclusively-especially the "FANTASTIC VOYAGE" score by Spencer
Raymond and Richard Allen.

Wow, how did you isolate the music? Incredible.

Could you buy ARK II , and Jason of Star Command DVDs?
Some more excellent music by RAY ELLIS. And if you could
get the music off of that too, Youtube viewers would LOVE IT.
Im sure.

@em23 Is it the "dangerous situation"/action theme? That's the song I've always wanted to hear by itself, but never been able to find...
