Yes, the song is about god. But, different people have different iterpretations. People can see a song as something completely opposite of the actual meaning. That's the beauty of music. Of course the members of Red had their own meaning in mind for "Pieces", but lyrics can be related to in different ways depending on an individual's experience. I like this video, it's very relatable to anyone who's lost someone close to them. :)

Great video. In my opinion, just because it's a Christian song doesn't mean jack. I'm Christian, but when I hear this song I don't think about God. I also think about my girlfriend, my past/future, I think of a lot of things. Songs are meant to have cross-interpretations, not 1 single meaning. Everyone has their own interprets. I really think yours is right, too. How I see it is that he was hurt so much in the past that he needed someone to help him, then a girl came along and started helping him and making him feel like he was someone again and showed him it's okay and it's right to love her. My boyfriend and I have been through a lot in our pasts, so we're helping eachother in good ways and this song basically describes us. I love the video, great job. :-)

VERY well done. as for the controversy surrounding it. music never has one meaning. it speaks to each of us individually. it is why we turn to it in our darkest hours because it always gives us the meaning we are searching for. Yes, the song is about god. But, different people have different iterpretations. People can see a song as something completely opposite of the actual meaning. That's the beauty of music. It reaches out on so many levels and so many different way to everyone. It's an amazing song by an amazing group. The video is pretty good itself. Kudos

2nd, I just started listening to Red, so I didn't know really that they were a Christian band. So I just took it as a guy who loves his girl so much, that he can go to her for anything and she can help him. I see it as both ways, and I agree that if you didn't know the band, then you would think that it was a guy for a girl.

There's nothing wrong with your interpretation. If you want to take it that way, then that's fine by me. Personally, when I hear the song, I think about people who've died in war. They specifically say in their interviews that this song is about God. Songs are a form of art. If two people look at a painting, chances are they'll see two different things because they're looking at it from to different perspectives. Songs are the same thing. Of course the members of Red had their own meaning in mind for "Pieces", but lyrics can be related to in different ways depending on an individual's experience. I like this video, it's very relatable to anyone who's lost someone close to them. :)

Great video. In my opinion, just because it's a Christian song doesn't mean jack. I'm Christian, but when I hear this song I don't think about God. I also think about my girlfriend, my past/future, I think of a lot of things. Songs are meant to have cross-interpretations, not 1 single meaning. That's why some bands have good lyricists and other don't. It's all about how one can interpret their words and put it into their life and mind.

Everyone has their own interprets. I really think yours is right, too. How I see it is that he was hurt so much in the past that he needed someone to help him, then a girl came along and started helping him and making him feel like he was someone again and showed him it's okay and it's right to love her. My boyfriend and I have been through a lot in our pasts, so we're helping eachother in good ways and this song basically describes us. I love the video, great job. :-)

Not only is he studying to be a minister which gives him a lot more religious authority than u, but he liked it and had no problem with the video. VERY well done. as for the controversy surrounding it. music never has one meaning. it speaks to each of us individually. it is why we turn to it in our darkest hours because it always gives us the meaning we are searching for. Red may be christian but that does not mean their music has a christian conotation to everyone. music has the ability to speak to peoples hearts and provides meaning no matter the beliefs of the listener.

I totally get what you did...duh. lol and thats all neato and such but sometimes people will watch this who dont really know the band/song and what it's meant to be about so thats the main why i wrote that comment. not about some chick dieing and her boyfriend commiting suicide to be with her when prolly their both going to hell...i mean...im not trying to be cruel..but if your willing to commit suicide..your heart it not right with the lord. its just very unlikely...

ok i understand. sorry for exploding but if u look at the comments on this that's all anybody has been saying and it just been getting REALLY old...and plus i kinda had a bad day, sorry. but u know, we're also assuming he's christian too. he could be jewish, or muslim for all we know...even atheist
