jensmariusbenja you are a dipshit.. his v bar has nothing to do with the bow jumping left..all right handed archers are shooting slightly to the left.. a true straight line would be right through the back of ur head and thats impossible.. so when you shoot slightly to the left and that part of the triangle breaks, if you are truely relaxed your arm must go down due to gravity and left because you are shooting slightly to the left..oh and they shoot 70 meters not 90
I shoot an Alpine quad limb compound targeting bow dialed in to 45lb. They look to be using Hoyt risers w/CX900 limbs and Easton stabilizers. Pretty much the rest of the world uses Simack (Korean) bows as Korea has dominated the sport since 1988.
dude, first of all, Vic Wunderle (the last guy on this vid) shoots a mathews riser, not hoyt. And the rest of the world isn't using sAmIck stuff, archers shoot what they prefer, or what they get given. Most of the top archers could shoot any reasonably high spec riser and limbs to an incredible standard... usually they use the bows from the companies that sponsor them.
CXs went invented back then. this is from 2004, CXs are a 2008 model. first guy has a matrix second an axis, probably G3 limbs which were top of the range back then
cool, dungman101. you're the smartest guy on earth. you know everything about archery! wow. i was so stupid to mention that a stabiliser stabilises the shot. (i hope you know you're being insulted cuz if you don't, that's an extra insult to your intelligence.)
Their form is what the US teams have been basically using before Kisik Lee. It doesn't really suck, I mean, Wunderle got a silver. It just doesnt have the same performance capabilities as the BEST method does. So there form doesnt really suck. It's just not "modernized". (Ummm, just for the record, they can beat some Asian teams. Not as often as the Asians beat the US team, but occasionally.)
and you, sir, are a person who has no knowledge of archery genetics!
form doesnt matter. ur head does. if you think is good, its good. everyone does something different to fit thier needs. if u need to, actually i want u to, talk to Al Lizzio. hes my coach. he'll give u a piece of his mind, jerk.
watever men... huh? asia a country? did i mention anything about asia as a country!?
your just making up shit...
lets just see what will be their rankings in the olympics if they win in team or in individual... then i'll take back what i said... but if they dont... they will still suck!

recoil's the wrong word. recoils only happen in guns, where all forces are static, and when you fire, a new force is introduced in the gun onto the bullet. Newton's third law produces the recoil.
However, in bows, there's a static force acting downwards from the tip of the bow, since you have the stabiliser rods (which create greater stability). However, in order to be accurate, you have to let the bow fly out naturally with the arrow. That is the only way to give the shot maximum stability. Hence, the bow appears to 'drop' but really, it flies OUT, stops short and swings down as it gets caught in the fingersling the archer wears.
ok dumbshit. u just said somethign like "a blender blends" a stbalizer indeed stabalizes the shot, but it bends. then u shoot, there is a natrual left and right tourqe. to combat this the long rod stabalizer was created. the v-bar will take care of up and down. but the front and back toruqe are taken care of by ur finger sling. now. explain to the person who doesnt know what a stabalizer is what a stbalizer is.
Why aren't they shooting with v-bars? Sorry if that's a completely ignorant question. I shoot compound, and all I know about recurves is what I hear when my recurve teammates are talking to each other.
There are generally two schools of thought on this topic. One suggests that the bow should move forward from the hand immediately following the shot process. Within this range an archer may manipulate the v-bar config to suite his preference for reaction speed. Another method is to have the bow stay in the hand during the shot, this has a slower reaction, and does not move forward after the shot.
Correct. It consists of a main stab and a back weight, no v bars. This method as used by Butch Johnson and others has not proven successful in the Olympics at the individual level, but it may just be that it's really not that popular outside the U.S. With the arrival of Korean coach, Kisik Lee here in the U.S., I suppose that method will become even less favored. (Notice almost all Korean bows are set up the same).
this is because the force will be greater when the bow is 'let' out after shoot..it is also known as follow through..most of the shots can be determined if it is good or not juz by looking at the follow through =D ENJOY THE VIDEOS!
They're shooting with open hands, to help prevent from torquing the bow. After release, the bow jumps forward, hits their finger sling, and the weight on the stabilizer carries the bow downward.
It drops because you are not meant to hold the bow tightly, the only reason why it dosen't fly out of thier hands is because it's attached with a bow sling between the thumb and index finger.
You don't hold it tightly so there is less external force acting on the bow, a more consistent shot.
When making a shot, an archer is not supposed to be applying too much force on the handle, that's why when the force is released, the bow drops by itself. Archers have arrow slings on their hands so it wouldn't drop on the ground.
I saw so many professional archers shooting, i was practising with two archers from the german and the dutch national team today. Might be that it looks weird for me cause of the baseball cap which is aslope on Johnsons head
@shirosu because the force of these bows is massive and they have a trap on their 2 fingets thats holds and bo so bow doesnt drops

Can anyone tell me what the poundage is on these bows...or whats the average or limtit? thanks.
