  • Dude I was so asleep. i didnt wake up at all. It had an after shock at school..

  • ha I used to live in Springfield. all my life never once was there an earthquake i finally leave IL for TX and they have a fairly good sized one. just my luck I would have been intetrested in experiencing that.....course I used to think the same about experiencing a tornado then it happened and I thought OK not so fun

  • that nigga used to ride a prelude

  • Springfield? That's where THE SIMPSONS lives there in small earthquakes

  • O_O how on earth did you find this video its old!!

  • You could feel it in Mexico

  • i was takin a shit, but i live by the railroad tracks, so im used to little tremors

  • fucking shit fuck! i was sleeping in my basement during the entire thing :(

  • I was in Springfield at the hospital. It knocked me out of the chair I was sleeping in. And twisted my glasses.

  • Welcome to a taste of California.

  • Dougie you reminded me of the scared guy on Blair Witch project. I was in Chicago when the earthquake hit but I was so freekin tired I slept through it.

  • it was a weak earthquake i was in town

  • Down in Saint Louis, MO (about 80 miles from Springfield, IL) and we felt the earthquake just a little bit stronger than up north. Oh and the earthquake happened at like 4:37 or 4:38 in the morning not 4:35.

  • I CAME.

  • I really big earthquake?

Umm methinks you might be exaggerating a bit

  • aint got shit on cali

  • our earth quakes are way worse than urs

  • ur face is worse

  • Umm everyone who thinks this cant happen.....ur dead wrong....research the quakes of 1812 and 1813 in illinois that obliterated Chicago and much of the midwest....

  • i don't see anyone on here saying that it can't happen.

  • i was woken up also. My windows and bed were shaking. I was pretty much paralyzed in my bed until it finished, lol. I guess the news says that were supposed to be getting aftershocks for a few weeks now. And they said that the earthquake on friday morning may be triggering a bigger one :O. Its been really crazy lately.

  • Haha I know right?!?! we're from IL we're not supppose to get thhis shit! I was crying we just had another 4.5 close to mt.c about 12.40 ish tonight

dude get ready theres suppose to be a 7 coming sometime this week it's predicted.

  • @whittywhit89 you cant call when an earthquakes gonna happen.

  • They can predict them,

Where are you from? I saw the IL plates in one of your videos....

  • @whittywhit89 They can predeict them yes. Can they give an exact date? no. Haha. I live in Los Angeles. thats my moms car. We are suppose to have an earthquake bigger than haitis here. You know when? 20 years ago. then it was 10 years ago. then 5 years ago. Now it could be right now. Now they say within the next 5 years. Those dudes dont know. It could happen right after i type this. only good thing is california has a lot of buildings built to withstand earthquakes better than most places.

  • Haha, Well you're lucky to live out of IL... it sucks, but I'm also from Southern IL.

I'm trying to get outta this state and far away

  • I live in Chicago. I don't have any memory of this at all. The National Network coverage was based here in Chicago. Why? The earth Quake was about as far from Chicago you could get without leaving the state. Made no sense.

  • i live in evansville (real close to the epicenter) and my window broke, my porch cracked, and the chandelier fell on the table

  • i remember that, my family and i thought it was a tornadoe until it had ended.

  • i live in chester field and that shit still shook my house pretty hard and it was my first earthquake...

  • I live in southern Illinois about 17 miles from the epacenter all my pictures fell of the wall it was really creepy wakin up to an earthquake. Question? How much weed do u smoke?

  • Hahaa dont smoke...

  • I live in Springfield, IL. I was taking a quick break from tiling. Took a sip of my beer when the back door started violently shaking. Then, the walls started shaking. I thought I'd had too many until the house started shaking. It was weird but cool. I went ouside right afterwards and everything was so quiet and peaceful. The birds were chirping like nothing had happened. That was eerie.

  • we felt it in dayton, ohio

  • It happened on the anniversary of the 1906 quake here in San Francisco. It's funny, some of the Illinois TV news people called the quake a "shaking". Here in earthquake country, they always know what it is and call it an earthquake.

Glad you guys made it through okay. Cheers!

  • umm... i definitely felt it, it woke me up, i live in osceola, like about 20 min from the michigan border line, yea it was intense

  • I live in Bloomington, IN and it woke me up... but my daughter slept right thru it! lol! It was crazy! I had never been more scared in my life. I'm pretty sure you had it worse tho. Ours was only a 5.2 mag.

  • i live in berwyn, il, just about 15 mins. frm chicago and i didnt feel shit lol but frm wat evryone told me, they felt it like around 4:45am. i always wanted to feel one, call it twisted but idk kinda weird i kno but i wanted to feel at least a moderate one but my ass slept thru it

  • I was on the shitter!!!

  • I live in indiana so im not used to it either

it woke me up then at school everyone was talking about it

then during school we felt the aftershock

    it was actually pretty cool

  • Yea i live in cleveland, but work at 7 am so i was sleeeping and i didnt feel it or get woken up by it, but that was a pretty funny explination of it, we have had some in our area apparently but i have never felt any of them

  • i live in petersburg, and i felt it. my entire family woke up and i also felt the aftershock at 10:15

  • felt it in Louisville,Ky

  • I'm close to St. Louis on the Illinois side and we felt it at 4:35 or so this morning. Felt an aftershock around 10:30.

  • i know i live in st.charles it was kinda cool

  • I live in Olney IL, I was just going to bed when it happened. It didn't register as an earthquake with me at the time because I'm in Illinois.

  • haha yea i live in st. louis and it woke me at 4:45 am which is when i felt it. man, it was weird, freaked me out thats for sure.

  • I live like 20 miles from the epicenter. :D Was pretty intense.

  • Ha ha ha dont move here to california, you might have a heart attack

  • yeah... i live about 45 minutes east of st louis, mo why did you make a video bolg?

  • the earthquake woke me up around 5. There was another tremor at 9:15.

  • dude im freaking out

  • i live in rosewood hights ill (by stl) and around 4:30 i really felt it my closent was raddleing and was really weaird caues ive never been in one i was so tired i was dozzen and diddnt care so went back to sleep lol

  • I live in Greenhills Ohio and I slept thru the earthquake this morning, but I felt the aftershock around 11 ish. I was at home and it knocked some picture frames off the wall.

  • ok i live in harrison, ohio and i felt it and it was freaky. (yes the earthquake came all the way to ohio) and it was my first earthquake and i di feel the aftershock at aroung 11 when i was in school

  • i live in mid-ohio and some people felt it here!

  • My friend laughed through the entire thing, I slept through it.

  • I don't really understand what humor your friend could possibly find durring an earthquake. But hey, some people are just weird I guess.

  • i slept right through it! but i bet u a million if i woke up id be friken freaked out to!

  • lol ya im from the st. louis area. that earthquakle shook me off of my bed. i was scared shittless. haha but it was an interesting feeling too

  • i didnt feel both and i didnt feel the 10:14.3 aftershock kus i was waking in school

  • yeah...i am from IN and felt it...i woke up to that this morning..hahaha

    ~~AMANDA

  • That was quite a ride this morning. Maybe we're all a bunch of wimps, but that's an interesting way to wake up. And of course later at work with the after shock it had everyone a bit nervous. The PIO comes on the intercom and says, the instructions on the Corporate Intranet site are for tornadoes not for Earthquakes - we'll have something posted for Earthquakes real soon. Everyone began to laugh, because this is the beginning of tornado season.

  • yes were not used to that crap . were used to tornados and snow storms.

  • i live in saint louis .. dude that was scaryy :_( i felt it arnd 4:45 and at 10 too .

  • The freakin earthquake scared the hell out of me, I live in southern IL and it definately wasnt as bad as the ones in California

  • Was it really big? Geez...another hyped up video about an earthquake. I live in Cali, and this is nothing. Chill out illinoisians! You are not going to have a BIG ONE! LOL!

  • Yes, we are. The one we had this morning was not as bad as the ones in California i'm sure but I live in Kentucky and it is on part of the New Madrid fault line, one of the largest fault lines there is. So when the fault is disrupted or what ever, we WILL have a BIG ONE!

  • Central and eastern US earthquakes generally shake areas about 10 times as large as those that occur in California.

Earthquakes in the central and eastern U.S., although less frequent than in the western U.S., are typically felt over a much broader region. East of the Rockies, an earthquake can be felt over an area as much as ten times larger than a similar magnitude earthquake on the west coast. (from USGS website)

  • I thought it was thunder at first, you know, half asleep and all. Didn't feel the second one because I was in the jewelry room of a very solid school and Charlene was pounding the patootey out of a piece of metal right in my ear.

  • you caused it!

  • I live in St.Louis and I did not feel the quake this morning. But at 10:15 I was at school and our desks began to shake. It was a rush. Half the school felt and and the other haft didnt. We were not sure what to do, so we just sat there. Im glad that this is not often around here.

  • man my whole bed shook

i thought it was a tornado

  • I can't believe that more people have not posted more about this..... Thanks for the news

    Cheers

  • 10 ours was 40

  • it was registered at 5.2 in edwardsville it shook for about a minute here at like 4:37am

  • I live in St Louis and I was awake at 4:30 standing in my kitchen and did not feel it and at 10:15 I did not feel anything either. My family and pets slept through the early morning one. Other people at work felt the one at 10:15...so I guess I learned that I am earthquake proof....which is pretty cool.

  • it was really horrible this morning at 4.45 am and other at 10.15 am.

it was only me in my family who felt those hits of earth quake.

when i told to my family about that they made fun of me,but latter it was confirmed that i was right.

  • North IL here (near Chicago) didn't feel anything even though I was awake at the time. But some of the people I know felt stuff.

  • southern indiana here... it last at least 40 seconds here at a magnitude of 5.2 then the second one hit for 10 seconds at a 4.5 on the scale.

The thing is that earthquakes are nothing new here but today it sure was the longest and the strongest in my life living here!

  • yea, i live in pontiac illinois and it hit here about 4:37 and i woke up, im like what the heck?? i thought it was my dog moving my bed. but then i looked over at my fishtank and water was spilling everywhere. it was cool. then i got up in the morning to get ready 4 school and the news people said it was an earthquake. i was like AWSOME

  • "were in Illinois, were not used to this crap" priceless...i live in joliet so yeah... that was pretty damn odd

  • Were?

  • I'm in indiana,

I was half alseep at my bed around 5:35ish and i felt my house shaking,

at first thought it was a tornado. But, it wasn't raining so i thought maybe it was the consturction going on in my naborhood. Then i turn on the tv and the people on the news where like,

"umm we just felt a shaking a few secs ago soo we'll get back to you on that."

    so yeah

and that one guy below me is right

    IT WAS AWESOME!!

  • it was awsome i want to start having an earthquake every morning YESSSS!!!

  • i woke up at 420 hit the snooze then the bed started shaking it kinda felt like a sitcom where you are in an old apt. and the subway goes by and the whole building shakes but it was pretty cool! EARTHQUAKES RULE!!! BTW i am about 30min east of STL

  • Earthquake Springfield

  • I've been in Earthquakes, a tornado, and a volcano.

  • A volcono?If you weree IN it whouldn't you be burnt? :P.

  • looks like Trent beat me to it

  • I was watching adult swim when it happened.I knew it was an earthquake and it was kinda cool since it rarely happens here and the last time it happened was 5 years again and i was up for that too lol.

  • 5.2? You guys in the midwest are whimps. I've been through a 6.7 and a 7.0 and a 5.5.

  • Midwest earthquakes are much different than California quakes due to the ground type. A California quake is seldom felt outside a 60 mile radius. The 5.2 earthquake that hit to day was felt in a 450 mile radius that included 9 states. Scientific tests done by the USGS have shown that if a 6.7 quake (like the one that hit Nortridge in 1994) hit in the midwest it would destroy almost everything from St. Louis to Memphis. You may get more quakes out there, but ours are more dangerous.

  • LOL yea that shit woke me up. Knocked my speakers off my wall and glad my plasma didnt go with them lol

  • I live near springfield il. I woke up around

4:47 am to my bed shaking and doors rattling.

I looked out-side and all of the trees were tilted. No severe damage.

  • I want you inside me?

  • I like how you said the Earthquake happened at 4:40 am, but the video title says "4:35 am"

  • Like i said, wasnt really lookin at the clock, just wanted to post it, so people wouldnt think they were crazy if they felt something Lol i had to see if anyone else did, i thought i was day dreaming at first.

  • Thats hilarious dude. I live in Indiana and I was freaking out about the same quake. But I thought at first I was being haunted LOL!

  • I'm from Bellmont Illinois and the center of the quake was 5 miles north of me, my house shook pretty violently for about 45 seconds and we are still getting aftershocks, it was felt in michigan also!

  • crazy! yah, i called everyone being a dick and waking them up hah.

  • Felt it in Richmond Ky central Ky to be exact. The earthquake of 1811 was at about 2 in the morning that was the first the next happened 6 hours later look it up on wikipedia. Not to scare anyone but that section of the U.S is the most likely for a major earthquake. May God protect us all peace im out.
