ha I used to live in Springfield. all my life never once was there an earthquake i finally leave IL for TX and they have a fairly good sized one. just my luck I would have been intetrested in experiencing that.....course I used to think the same about experiencing a tornado then it happened and I thought OK not so fun
Dougie you reminded me of the scared guy on Blair Witch project. I was in Chicago when the earthquake hit but I was so freekin tired I slept through it.
Down in Saint Louis, MO (about 80 miles from Springfield, IL) and we felt the earthquake just a little bit stronger than up north. Oh and the earthquake happened at like 4:37 or 4:38 in the morning not 4:35.
Umm everyone who thinks this cant happen.....ur dead wrong....research the quakes of 1812 and 1813 in illinois that obliterated Chicago and much of the midwest....
i was woken up also. My windows and bed were shaking. I was pretty much paralyzed in my bed until it finished, lol. I guess the news says that were supposed to be getting aftershocks for a few weeks now. And they said that the earthquake on friday morning may be triggering a bigger one :O. Its been really crazy lately.
@whittywhit89 They can predeict them yes. Can they give an exact date? no. Haha. I live in Los Angeles. thats my moms car. We are suppose to have an earthquake bigger than haitis here. You know when? 20 years ago. then it was 10 years ago. then 5 years ago. Now it could be right now. Now they say within the next 5 years. Those dudes dont know. It could happen right after i type this. only good thing is california has a lot of buildings built to withstand earthquakes better than most places.
I live in Chicago. I don't have any memory of this at all. The National Network coverage was based here in Chicago. Why? The earth Quake was about as far from Chicago you could get without leaving the state. Made no sense.
I live in southern Illinois about 17 miles from the epacenter all my pictures fell of the wall it was really creepy wakin up to an earthquake. Question? How much weed do u smoke?
I live in Springfield, IL. I was taking a quick break from tiling. Took a sip of my beer when the back door started violently shaking. Then, the walls started shaking. I thought I'd had too many until the house started shaking. It was weird but cool. I went ouside right afterwards and everything was so quiet and peaceful. The birds were chirping like nothing had happened. That was eerie.
It happened on the anniversary of the 1906 quake here in San Francisco. It's funny, some of the Illinois TV news people called the quake a "shaking". Here in earthquake country, they always know what it is and call it an earthquake.
I live in Bloomington, IN and it woke me up... but my daughter slept right thru it! lol! It was crazy! I had never been more scared in my life. I'm pretty sure you had it worse tho. Ours was only a 5.2 mag.
i live in berwyn, il, just about 15 mins. frm chicago and i didnt feel shit lol but frm wat evryone told me, they felt it like around 4:45am. i always wanted to feel one, call it twisted but idk kinda weird i kno but i wanted to feel at least a moderate one but my ass slept thru it
Yea i live in cleveland, but work at 7 am so i was sleeeping and i didnt feel it or get woken up by it, but that was a pretty funny explination of it, we have had some in our area apparently but i have never felt any of them
i live in rosewood hights ill (by stl) and around 4:30 i really felt it my closent was raddleing and was really weaird caues ive never been in one i was so tired i was dozzen and diddnt care so went back to sleep lol
I live in Greenhills Ohio and I slept thru the earthquake this morning, but I felt the aftershock around 11 ish. I was at home and it knocked some picture frames off the wall.
ok i live in harrison, ohio and i felt it and it was freaky. (yes the earthquake came all the way to ohio) and it was my first earthquake and i di feel the aftershock at aroung 11 when i was in school
That was quite a ride this morning. Maybe we're all a bunch of wimps, but that's an interesting way to wake up. And of course later at work with the after shock it had everyone a bit nervous. The PIO comes on the intercom and says, the instructions on the Corporate Intranet site are for tornadoes not for Earthquakes - we'll have something posted for Earthquakes real soon. Everyone began to laugh, because this is the beginning of tornado season.
Was it really big? Geez...another hyped up video about an earthquake. I live in Cali, and this is nothing. Chill out illinoisians! You are not going to have a BIG ONE! LOL!

yea, i live in pontiac illinois and it hit here about 4:37 and i woke up, im like what the heck?? i thought it was my dog moving my bed. but then i looked over at my fishtank and water was spilling everywhere. it was cool. then i got up in the morning to get ready 4 school and the news people said it was an earthquake. i was like AWSOME

i was having sex with 5 fat chicks at the time rocking the house so i didnt even noticed. jk jk. i shit myself too. there was a second episode of shaking at about around 9:30-10 am. i hope we have some more.
I'm from Bellmont Illinois and the center of the quake was 5 miles north of me, my house shook pretty violently for about 45 seconds and we are still getting aftershocks, it was felt in michigan also!
Felt it in Richmond Ky central Ky to be exact. The earthquake of 1811 was at about 2 in the morning that was the first the next happened 6 hours later look it up on wikipedia. Not to scare anyone but that section of the U.S is the most likely for a major earthquake. May God protect us all peace im out.
We felt it up here near Chicago too! I swear it freaked the hell out of me because I couldn`t figure it out at first and thought it was a ghost shaking my damn bed.LOL!!
was sitting on the couch with brandon and then our trailor shook....and were like wtf??? Thought it was the cat messing around with the couch...then you imed me..and yep..earthquake...WHOT..that was fun
Dude I was so asleep. i didnt wake up at all. It had an after shock at school..
