  • For God's sake, who is the female violinist??? It's very indecent not even to name her!

  • God!!! i love this

    nice concert sound effect

  • tiene que tener unos dolores de cuello increíbles este tío...

  • The rudest and most self-obsessed violinist in the world. I wonder how his female partner (WHO ISN'T EVEN NAMED, YOU ASSHOLE), and the players in the orchestra, felt when Kennedy later said that all other violinists are shit, and he is the only one in the world who should be permitted to play Bach? This worthless git needs a punch on the nose before he plays again. I had his Walton cd, but I'm throwing it out now!!!

  • najdżel jest polakiem!!!!!!czuje nasze kompleksy chłopak. szacunek

  • not comfortable partially.

  • Aqui no cabe buscar la perfeccion.Ocurre que la imperfeccion es consustancial a este hermosisimo dialogo de sensibilidades y fraseos.

  • i hate all choises made about speed ,bowing the incoherence of style etc,etc and yet I love listening to this performance . I t is just so magnificently played not the least by the lady soloist ( who is it by the way?) that all preconceived notions

dissipate .Bach is again the revealed as one of the Masters that make the human condition possible to bear.

  • music out of this planet..my dearest Sebastian...may you rest forever in the realm of the stars..because this is where you and your music belong...

  • They are very clever. lol

    nice ideas

  • Too fast Nigel! First movement was too fast as well, he should take 10% off his tempi which would give the entire performance more air and space. That said, top notch playing from them both.

  • Goosebumps....

  • Wouldn't it be polite to say who the lady is??

  • Schitterend

  • still this is too fucking fast

  • Wow I am impressed a piece by Nigel kennedy that isnt played at mach 9. He really does know what Largo means. Great violinist, but plays most pieces way to fast. No beauty in too fast.(my opinion. Top notch performance .

  • @grbtruck this is still too fast :)

  • @Iendyil oh i agree but look at the first movement vivace. he does it crazy fast this at least retains some beauty to it.

  • am still on top of the air. I heard and watched Nigel at, and after two concerts here in Melbourne. Funny, sublime, encompassing talent, unbelievable, and so fantastic to talk to, a surreal experience. could it have really happened ?i think as i watch him now. he is in Brisbane so it's true!!!!

  • between the I. and the II. you don´t clap...first at the end !

  • I was so lucky to attend two concerts with Nigel, and see him after. He loves playing with my local, MSO, and comes to Melbourne to visit extended family every 2 yrs, with Agnieszka, and Sark. A., is just so beautiful, elegant, and really lovely to chat to.His sibling, Erica Kennedy plays with the MSO, violins too, and the quintet have picked up Bach's rythmn 'cos they can't help themselves. Personally I love the seguing of the 2 but friends I know, don't like it. Happy with a kiss, float home!

  • very very expressive....

  • Nigel says imself, (and I've seen him say it) that he doesn't care if people clap between movements. If they enjoyed it that much, well he's glad to hear it!

  • very touchable :')

  • How do people not clap after each tune? Seems weird to me.

  • because you're not supposed to, there are three movements to a concerto and you don't applaud until the end of the concerto. that's the end of the piece, so you clap at the end of each piece.

  • I posed this question on another video and it was explained to me that in the old days when they were recording the tapes didn't last long enough so they had to change reels between tunes and applause would waste tape. That tradition stuck and I think it's a stupid tradition. Your reason explains nothing. Your answer is "because". LOL. That's not a reason.

  • it has been a tradition for hundreds of years actually. it's just the way things are done, it doesn't really matter if you clap between movements or not, it's just the way it's usually done.

i have no idea where that tape idea came from but it sounds like something some one made up to give themselves an answer without knowing the real answer. it doesn't make sense.

  • i don't think it's simply a matter of the tradition sticking on without reason. you see, clapping between movements can be distracting and can disrupt the continuity of the piece as a whole.

  • No it's just conventional not te clap, period. It's etiquette.

  • @yanpan16

This concept of not clapping between movements was not established until relatively recently (1950s and beyond). In fact, clapping between movements used to be encouraged. Look it up if it's hard to believe.

  • Late responce here but yea, this~. Mendlesson's violin concerto confused people because 1st and 2nd movement linked together (oboe I believe, held the note into the 2nd movement)

  • bassoon...

  • The "song" is not done until all the pieces are finished. It's like clapping after the first verse of a strophic song. Doesn't make sense.

  • Gorgeous violin playing.

  • I've always been fascinated by Kennedy and love all that he does. He brings colour and inspiration and I think JSB would have loved him too

  • This is so beautiful :( It makes me curse my own violin skills, I wish I had a teacher

  • Both musicians are delightful !!! Although, violins are adjusted not in unison..such change.

  • Everything what can be said in music was said when Bach died.

  • i agree with you Alexey

  • A most stunning performance of this peice, partly the accoustic, I realize. It has a wonderful forward movement about it while being reflectivem, melacholy. Thanks for posting this recording

  • When I listen this I always imagine the parting of true lovers in very sad considerations and the initiative belongs to the women. This is the highest level of interpreation I have ever heard. Look at Nigels full of sadness eyes. The women... she can't even look at him. I want to belive this was their perfectly done intention.

  • agreed. nigel is way too overpowering, and spoils the contrapuntal balance of this piece. not the best, but it's still quite okay.

  • This is a little too fast for me, but otherwise, they are so good and talented. The sounds of violins are both beautiful. It so wonderful!!

  • ooooh beatiful!

  • Asombrosa música.Divino Bach.

  • one of the highest piece of music ever written

  • @doctorgino2 i'd say that too!

  • lol, nigel is too overpowering in this video. you could barely hear the second violinist.

  • I agree. Nigel is too much overpowering here. Out of balance

  • so suite!!!

  • Wonderful, I love Bach and Nigel!

  • Bach really knew how to make instruments talk to each other in a most passionate way. Beautiful!... Nice interpretation.
