ElasticHosts is mad expensive! You can almost get a dedicated server for that kind of money. For my VPS I pay $16.50 a month in "high-price region" Switzerland. You can also get a small reserved Amazon EC2 instance for less money.

@SteZooNeR Unfortunately I dont think thats right... quote taken from always on pc website: Run Chrome, Firefox, Flash, Java, Open Office Suite & More on iPad, iPhone and Android, so basically that program is used for phones ect only. You can however leave your computer on 24/7 and run a bukkit server from your own computer with your own internet for free (except from electric and internet charges) So as far as I understand, you cant run it with always on pc, glad i could help :D

@SteZooNeR Im not that smart :P Everyine says to me your smart, and i always reply negatively :P And no problem whatsoever, What about maybe having your laptop plugged in and on 23:50/7 basically, 10 minutes of break a day while you restart it. I don't think there will be a free 24/7 program ever to be honest :( But one more suggestion, which is more expensive, is to buy a cheaper (£200ish) computer if you want a server for you and your friends. :)

To get the best AND cheapest at the same is impossible :P It depends how many people you will want on your server... I'll get back to you once you give me a rough estimate on numbers of players as to which I suggest :)
