  • Nice

  • helpful video

  • Thanks Draco Malfoy.

  • Excellent . thank u so much .

  • dirty fuck your coaching. this english man has no idea . he loss the mind and doing fuck

  • Disagree with so much of this video

Also he is so stubborn " no such shot" who does he think he is

Batting average less than 20 ......nuff said

  • @djdom121 You talking about 3:35? Well obviously you can physically play that shot but its not a good shot. Playing a back foot square "drive" where you're coming across the line of the ball? Low percentage.

  • best quality ever

  • This bloke (Gary Palmer) thinks he's a genius batting coach. I purchased a course of his at Pitchvision's website and it was absolute rubbish. The videos stuck in frame (I understand that has to do with buffering,) but when it didn't stick, he talked a whole complicated load of shabang. The worst thing is his record in professional cricket is appauling. He was apparently an all-rounder for Somerset and had a batting average of less than 20...

  • @Flippinchutney maybe he is good in guiding others.while working upon them..

  • @MrAbbaskhn , nah buddy, his clueless. He complicates everything...

  • @Flippinchutney You talk some absolute rubbish yourself

  • @Flippinchutney You can be technically perfect but if you can't read the ball out of the hand and pick up the length then it doesn't matter. Cant teach quick reflexes and reaction time. And at least he made it to first class cricket.

  • @bongo155 , well said but still - how can you learn from a bloke who couldn't back it up himself?

  • i dont agree with some stuff he's saying but ok for a beginner, but a little bit basic for someone who knows all the shots. but then again i wouldn't be watching this then!

  • i like the train!

  • @saphalee and the plane.

  • Excellent practical tips

  • Good intro video for new players.

  • im his son and ima fraid 2 say his acedamey will kick the other countys buts like hell.

  • Dumb bloke

  • was he talking about australian wickets with those pushes into gaps, cause the offside one on aussie pitches, which are quick will more than likely go over the slips heads

  • i just get how to hold a bat??????lol

  • fuckin idiot...

  • If you cannot learn from the video just shut up and keep your negative comments to yourself.

the video is excellent and teaches the simple basics of cricket very well for young cricketers. everyone has their own style in the end but the basics are really well explained. Gary thanks for sharing this with us. cheers

  • Agree with you gren but leaving the ball with your bat in the air is asking to be caught out with an edge or a glove. Apart from that excellent.

  • nice tips - now I can go and dominate my club level bowlers!

  • steve waugh is how u spell it mate

  • He has coached Austrialia first team and has played with lots of amazing world class cricketers such as ian botham viv richard and steve war.

  • If he has coached Australia's first team then how is he still alive. Also he cannot coach the first australian team and play with ian botham and viv richard because there was no west indies team before the australian team. You make no sense. And Ian botham came to play cricket after a long time the first aussie team was playing.

  • hahah omg he means Australias first team as in there best team!

    haha what an idiot

  • He means Australia 1st XI you muppet not the first ever Australian team.

  • idiot.....

  • wat are u talking about, he doesnt coach the australian team, he teaches youngesters, u know U11 U 10's,

  • the video is really kean im his son James Palmer and im 10 and my dad is very good and better than all of you jellous people

  • just the handling of the bat was fine for me, now I need to test how I go, one tip I'm gonna give you guys, get someone who plays tennis, to serve constant tennis balls at you at a fast pace, faster then a bowler would bowl, and there not serving full length, just shorter, then just block the ball away and keep repeating, it gets you used to the ball more, and the other person gets better serving skills, so vice versa for the tennis players.

    Hope I helped

    ~4brA~

  • look at his bat its a piece of crap

  • he is gay trust me these tips will not help you when yu have a good fastbowler running at you

  • If you actually listen to what he's saying you'll realize it's aimed at youth cricket and trying to get the fundamentals right. Gary Palmer is recognized as one of the best cricket coaches going, but i'm sure you're much better!! ;-)

Maybe if you actually listened you could learn something!

  • this guy is good!

  • his gay but sticks out on 4:44 looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • just holding the bat properly has sorted me out, i had my top wrist in too weak a position and was compensating with my bottom hand, which is in a weak position anyway. thanks a lot, this was really helpful.

  • 00.00 - 1.10 Spot on! That is exactly the problem I'm having with gripping the bat, well explained thank you.

  • because you have to have lots of skill to be in an international team and you obviously dont know how much you have to concentrate to play cricket at that level

  • I know what u r trying to say but you dont have to be a great player at the top level necessarily to be a great coach, teaching someone and doing it your self are very different things, my coach is not a great player at all but he is far better then alot of people that i have spoken to that play even first class cricket

  • I don't know why some of the batsmen don't come out with instructional videos, like Sachin or Lara

  • because some of there techniques only work for them lik Lara and Chanderpaul

  • For more on cricket technique with great tips and advice try simplycricket . net.

Nice crusader bat there, this video must be about 6 years old.

  • I have never played cricket but it seems like the correct technique is similar to playing a pitch shot in golf from this vid.

  • get a load of this guy, if he is a pom its better then being a cony"convict" you shit

  • thx i hit 2 straight drives 4 four and 3 on drives 2 4 four and 1 for six

  • Thats so cute

  • thats it. simple, basic and effective!

  • Excellent. Looks like it was filmed in Horndon on the Hill Essex. Any idea who this guy is?

  • its gary palmer-used to play county cricket for somerset i think

  • Great tips. Better than ark Taylors and Ian Healys on here. I'll give em a try on the weekend but if I get a quacker its your fault! ;)

  • great coaching man!they say say the best training is the fundamental basics for batting thanx 4 your contribution 2 all cricketers including myself :)

  • vethry nice lol jks he gets to the point.. nice stuff(:

  • nice hair...NOT!

  • VIDEO NOT THAT CLEAR BUT GOOD

  • Thanks John. Top tips mate

  • Thats Top Stuff....The basics of cricket is what to many cricketers forget and thats commonly how they either get out or play poorly....

  • Simple but good coaching

  • for tht first front foot drive, shud u aim it to mid on or mid off... since it looks like it aiming for the front wicket... thanks

  • If you want to play an on-drive then i would recomend that you point the front foot straight down the pitch(very slightly open) not towards mid on as that might encourage your right shoulder to come in and hence u might end up using too much bottom hand and play slightly accross (If ur right handed), if you wanna play straight down then may be point it on middle-off stump

  • i ibrar hussain of lightening stars, from the proffessional cricket league recommend this man as coach.
