  • Probably lifters, valves, something like that

  • Wipers are trying to move because they have to make a complete motion be for shutting off. I think anyways. Lol

  • Hey man....stop working so hard.

Fresh gas and a good oil change and good plugs, and HEAT.Lay off the ether or your oil pan will blow eventually. like a bomb.....

  • pour some tranny fluid in your oil and that should quiet it down...stickey lifter.

  • That car would be great as a daily commute, but you'd be a little late once every two days. The other two days you wouldn't make it at all.

  • I bet it has a flat wore out rocker arm pivot !

  • its a leaky lifter... my truck does the same... add some "lucas oil" and take it for a good ride... it will go away...

  • A shed would help. You could park it out of the snow.

  • I'm not sure what that tick is, but I here it a lot. I think it's a FORD V8 thing. Like a "TIMEX", takes a lickin', keeps on tickin'.

  • what a colossal pile of shit

  • i love those old crown vics

  • great old cold start and on the ticking well that could be from it sitting and the oil not working its way around the engine causing the lifters to be somewhat dry pretty common on cars that sits for a long time i wish i had that car cuz i love crown vics in black lol

  • cleen the dam spark plugs

  • knock knock whos there oh its just my 5.0

  • I had a similar noise problem with a mid 80's Grand National.. but it started when it was 25 degrees out.

  • It's alive! now dont forget to change the oil if u smell gas in it. Wonder if the gay ass module on the distributor is failing? I had an 87 truck that was a basterd to start!

  • @dosman01302 if that crap happend then the car probably wouldnt be firin would it?.....my 87 f150 did that and it just completly wouldnt even fire

  • My truck wouldn't start this morning setting in the garage, but then it was -24 below.

Went out and tried it at 12 noon and it started, but it was only -7 below..

  • COLD START TO THE MAX

  • Now THAT was a cold start!!!! LOL!!

  • @mbyr31 Yeah no kidding, it took two damn days lol.

  • Yup, definitely can hear the ticking. At first I thought exhaust leak, but somehow I dont think so. Could be a variety of things....... still sounds good though!

  • stuck lifter , broken rocker ?

  • @enfieldpolice Could be, I'm sure I'll figure it out once the weather warms up.

  • @TheOregonRedneck Yeah it is, wheres the fun with a car that starts right up lol.

  • Yes the sound of the valve is very evident. It's strange that the valve is noisy when the motor is warm. You would think that the opposite would happen.

  • @101xfmrogers Yeah I thought that was weird too

  • they should sell ether with a 3ft pipe on the can so you can sit and dose it.

  • that sounds like rod knock but i could be wrong cuz im not there but the oil would be thick at first and make the noise go away

  • @shinyfuzzy It does sort of sound like that but from where I was standing it sounded like it was coming from the top end. It might sound different from underneath but I won't be getting under it until the snow has melted away.
