@drmweavr Thanks! OK, I was, I believe, thinking of Wartburg Castle, where the Elector of Saxony, Frederick had his forces capture and hold Martin Luther(without specific knowledge of location to Frederick) under their full protection---while the pope, on the other hand, was eyeing the obtaining of Luther to put his life in peril with execution by sword or fire! Thanks for sharing. And God's blessings through Jesus!
@bbskin77 Yes I agree with you. If we think of Luther's original situation your point about gravity and conviction say it all. This is sung at break-neck speed. Why for heaven's sake? It's not a race!
@riian1946 The tune to "A Mighty Fortress" was actually a tune frequently sung in beer halls all over Germany at the time, so yes that tempo is much more accurate than the tempo we usually sing it today.
Where is Wartburg College? Germany? I love it. And in acapella---wow! Praise to the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ forever and ever! Amen.

@zappadead13 1) today most Christians unfortunately do. 2) I believe this was a concert not a worship service.

@zappadead13 Every kind of church has ppl who do not dress well. As long as it is respectful is what counts. Sure God is glad they are there!

It is far to fast! It needs to be sung with gravety and conviction and it lacks both.

It is an inspiring arrangment.

It is a very beautiful song. But, if I didn't already know the words, I wouldn't be able to make hardly anything out.
