  • Probably not the greatest tut vids...but hey it helped me out, so good job. All we need is abit more patience.

  • skip the annoying loading and crap talk... 2:00

  • i have after effects cs3 too ,but when i put some video in the program i can't see the video...why?

  • Hey I hate to be "that guy" but that footage is still interlaced

  • @thealmightyphil it's not interlaced, it's just terrible quality. the two time instances blend and it just turns to shit.

  • @Georgeocurtis Sorry dude im a little confused, that video at the beigginging is interlaced when you reduced the interlaced flicker its still interlaced, its just after effects removed the "jerkyness" of it.

  • @thealmightyphil it removes the horizontal lines

  • @Georgeocurtis Oh yeah, but the video is still interlaced, you can see on that guys shin there is a "ghosting" of his leg, thats the interlacing doing that, to deinterlace you should be able to right click the footage in the project folder an go right slick > interpret footage > Main then choose upper field first (usually upper field is first) and make sure your project is set to 25 (progressive) and it should be snazzyriffic

  • @thealmightyphil see i looked that up and tried that method and it did literally the exact same thing. if i set the softness on 1 and use the same thing you just said it is literally identical

  • @Georgeocurtis Hmm, like im just trying to help here not having a go, but make sure your comp is set up okay, as im deinterlacing footage as we speak and it looks beautiful, i bring in 50i footage into a 25p comp and it looks craptacular untill I use the above method and the lines and edges are perfect (for the record im colour keying so the edges need to be bloody perfect), whats your camera record to? or have you moved on since then

  • @thealmightyphil haha I have no idea. it's a really crappy camera. That's what the root of the problem is. but yeah, I'm not like fighting, it's a friendly dispute haha

  • The video doesn't fill the frame because your project size is larger than the video your importing.

  • yeah i know, i've figured that out since this.

  • it says error cant import file unsupported file type or extension

    00:1

  • i guess you are using files that after effects doesn't support. maybe you should try to convert the files or something like that.

  • how do i convert files?

  • just look up video converter on google. i think you may have to buy one. idk, i had the same problem it took me forever to figure it out.

  • Hey thanks again and do i need .avi files

PS i found AVS video converter 6

  • i don't think it takes avi. but mpg, wmv, etc. would work.

  • ok thanks but now it wont get the sound on!just the clip

  • really? i don't know what the problem is. that happened to me sometimes when i recorded in the wrong mode on my camera.

  • oh ok thanks

  • Thank you so much!

  • thanks man

  • A whole easier if you just use PRO in CS3

Right click on video file in timeline select FOLDER OPTIONS>>>Deinterlace.
