  • who is paying for this useless crap?

  • thats not verry good

  • So they invented a boat.

  • What is the practical application of jumping on water?...

  • In case you didn't know Telegraphtv, we have boats and water beds. Can't conquer water striding any better than that. Too much energy would be exerted in trying to "Jump" without breaking water tension to be practical.

  • I think the guy narrating this doesn't know what the hell he's talking about.

  • OMFG how can you not appriciate how great this is? No it does not have a puepose, but the beauty is that it replicates real insects, which is an amazing achievement (and can be very useful eventually)

  • @assimilatordk We have water beds and boats now. I think we have conquered water striding at it's very best practicality. They need to do more with Bees and their ability to completely freeze and survive (Time travel, if you will).

  • I can throw a leaf in the water to achieve this amazing feat....

  • why the fuck do we need bouncing water robots?

  • @magecaster163 Really??? I would of thought it is rather quite obvious...

  • @magecaster163 Because robots are going to be the new police one day. And they need to be able to go any where after any thing. Simple. lol

  • this is ridicolous

  • It Takes science ages to make this out of metal and it takes me 10 minutes to make this out of lego

  • Simple. Just make then lighter in the middle::://()

  • why do we need a water bouncing robot?

  • why?

  • It just floats

  • Lol it's robot Jesus let's see him do that

  • you talk like I'm dumb... fuck you

  • so..... its a boat??

  • this is just a boat ....

  • Come on, have a little vision. For example the resitance is minum. If this can be applied on a large scale or such it could lead to a very efficient type of boat.

Of coarse it's not simple just like that (what about waves, minimum spread distances etc.) but you get nowhere if you keep thinking inside the box.

  • who is paying for this useless crap? I need money now!

  • yea why the fuck u scientist make it so complicated? just use legos like CLCFANATIC said

  • something similar was invented a few years ago. i think it's called a ship.!

  • @dicktating YEah!

  • Yeah, cuz that's what we need really is bouncing robots on water. I mean, we've got starving children and threats of war, and plaid coming back into fasion (really, people...plaid!), and what we really need is a robot that can bounce on the water. I feel that would bring us all closer together as a species.

  • Something that floats on water takes advantage of its own buoyancy, breaking the surface of the water, but, when at rest, resistant to becoming wholly submerged. These robots, which model various "water strider" insect species, instead travel across the top of the water with no part of them breaching the surface due to the cohesion of H2O molecules.

It isn't floating, it is moving only on the surface of the water. There is a distinct, yet subtle difference.

  • and why not get an rc boat that can go 30+ mph?

  • Jesus bot

  • all our problems are solved. we have water bouncing robots.

  • I have a stick and a rock in my backyard that can float and bounce across water. Please give me $10 million dollar to fund my research.

  • what the fuck are you guys smoking!

  • its floating not walking

  • I can build the same thing out of legos

  • @CLCFANATIC Do! that would be so cool! put it on youtube! I can't wait to see!

  • /\ don't search 4 this

    his video SUCKS

you're just gonna waste your time

  • @TJSGustavoSFC In what respect?

  • dude... your robot is a motor over styrofoam. It doesn't TRULY walk over water at all, it floats over water... but then again anything would float on water with huge styrofoam feet.

  • hey lets have an internet argument that has nothing to do with the videos we watch. i love bored people.

  • looks like a boat to me

  • i guess some guy who knows something about electronics could make that shit himself easily. i mean that robot what just moves on water

  • technologies exploded because of the industrial revoulution and developing a nation of educated workforces to mass produce those technologies that greatly improves our day to day lives.

  • The point of us making such a scientific advancement is to keep you safe at the home your in. Without these lifeless people who somehow find these things out we wouldn't be a country so technologically advanced therefore we wouldn't have such money that you would like for us to provide to non-profit orgs.

  • Hmmm, clever, but I mean whats the point in developing a little robot to jump on water? Wouldnt that money go further if it was donated to help poor starving children?

  • you could use that little bug robot which walks on water like a spy ...and maybe in the future, someday, humans can too ^^

  • so basically theyve made a small robotic boat....... well done :/

  • wohooooooooooooo im the first to comment
