Monorail Mark VII Orange arrived on-site on August 14, 2008, sans parts which were used to retrofit Mark VII Red and Blue. The current fleet consists of Mark VII Monorail Red and Mark VII Monorail Blue. The last Mark V, Monorail Purple, has been officially retired, and parts from it are currently being retrofitted into Mark VII Orange. Once complete, Mark VII Orange will undergo riderless testing, and eventually be placed into full service.
I was reading wikipedia and it said that the orange monorail wasnt going to be in service. I hope thats not true cause the orange one would look awesome.
Don't worry. I couldn't see Disney buying this expensive monorail from a manufacture and then just not using it. Whatever problems there are with it, Disney will fix.
congrats on the first the view of the new monorail orange. mabey with monorail red almost done testing and blue getting their, WDI will finally the scrap the overused monorail purple.
The Mark V Purple is still running because of air problems with the Mark VII windows (they pop out, breaking the aerodynamic shape), and the Purple will be a substitute during certain conditions. When the windows are replaced with sliding windows, the purple will finally cease operation.
they'll probably store the Purple in the garadge just incase if any of their New Mark7 has any more Lemons or any more problem but. if every thing become trouble free for years, then they'll might scrap the old Mark 5 or something.
Remember, unlike WDW, these monorails are not new. They are simply the old monorails stripped down to their chassis and redecorated. They are probably not going to scrap ANY monorail cars.
Orange is my fav color! :D

Well, the red monorail is currently running, I'm not sure about the blue one, but I hear that the old mark V will be gone by the end of the month.

actually, i just found out that disneyland will try to get rid of monorail purple by the end of october, so it should be gone soon.

but perhaps they will try to fix some of the glitches in the new mark 7s before removing mark 5,
