  • I would eat this.

  • My moms dog won't eat dog food so she might enjoy this

  • spoiled dog? more like healthy dog. even with cheese and corn, this is way better than "dog food" which is basically

made of corn and cereal and seasoned with the meat and fat of....euthanizeddogs and cats, some of which died from disease or poisoning (sometimes with flea collars and all still

on them)....an roadkill, zoo animals, and slaughter house left overs. and dont forget all the preservatves.

  • This is a horrible recipe, lacking in fiber, nutrition and it is loaded with salt/sugar (i.e., tomato soup). These things are highly indigestible! I suggest you work with your veterinarian or canine nutritionist to come up with a palatable, nutritious food for your sweet dog OR spend the money and purchase high grade dog foods (read the labels) and go on line and google best dog foods.

  • @2japruett This is supposed to be a treat, and the recipe came from a vet/canine nutritionist's cookbook. It's not meant to be part of a daily diet.

  • @2japruett But you eating PORK ! It is that Right? Why are you too surprised???

You are the most disgusting people in the world.

The pork is not to be eating! Or dog or cat whatever....

  • So sorry for your loss:'( and btw I'm sooooooo gonna make this for my dog!!!

  • @BreyerLuver1 Thanks! Hope he/she enjoys it!

  • Pets need fresh food too! Banana Seals for pet keep your pets food fresh right in the bag it comes in! Check it out on the web at: SaveTheBananaSeal

  • I will serve this for my son

  • @pedrouzeca

    He won't be disappointed.

  • wow my dog would've loved this

  • @mrgenius4 Thanks! Everything in moderation. I would only serve this as a treat, perhaps once a month.

  • looks good I want some!

  • my 2 furry children love the food I cook up for them on a daily basis. I have removed the fear of the chemicals added to commercial dog food and treats. My only concern with this recipe is the canned tomato soup, only because of the high amount of sodium.

I am a fan and always looking for new recipes for my babies.

  • This is not a good recipe, it has dairy, tomato, and corn which is indigestable and turns to sugar. Better go back to the drawing board!

  • chesse is dairy its not good for dogss

    \

  • How much would it cost (aprox) to feed 2 dogs this? One dog is 20 lbs and the other is 68 lbs.

  • @MrRileYmyboy

Hello. Where I live these ingredients might cost me about 7 dollars total.

  • spoiled dog

  • Shh! - Internal Dogfood!

  • Haha sugar was so cute sliding to eat! :)))

  • Thanks! (:

  • @ChefTips Dogs are not evolved to eat many of these ingredients. Just cause you can't 'see in in their poop' doesn't mean it isn't causing harm. The dairy & additives would barely be any better, if not worse , than most commercially available dog foods. Dogs need biologically appropriate food - meat, fat and bone The biggest causes of ill-health on dogs is feeding them the wrong things based on what humans like. Youtube channels like 'Growlies4Pets' are a great place to get educated.

  • @afro208 You are right, this chef should get an other book if he wants to feed his dog. Not a COOK book.

  • If you cook that for your dog..you will have a lot of fun trying to clean up his poop!

  • i would eat that myself... yummy...

  • I wouldn't suggest using corn! Most dogs get ear and eye infections as a reaction to corn...

  • Is this a recipe for zombie food? What is wrong with raw fresh off-cuts from a local butcher for the dog or cat? WTHeck?!?!?!?

  • @CTuxford Zombies eat people.

  • @ChefTips Why would you bother cooking and adding all these different ingredients when you can just go buy some raw meat from the butchers. I just don't get it. My dogs have lived off raw meat(From the butchers) and have never had any health problems. Plus this diet in the video is good and all but is lacking bone. Dogs also need to eat raw bones for the calcium, to clean their teeth and do exercise their jaws.

  • My wife and I are trying this recipe. It is in the oven as we speak. We are looking forward to our pooches reaction. Thanks for the recipe.

  • NO worries...if your pooch is allergic to corn just substitute green peas.

  • i would eat it

  • @1:52 LOL what a cute dog ! TEEHEE

  • I just cooked this for my girlfriend, she loves it.

  • Where do I buy the cookbook?

  • Will my dog get diarrhea if I just make him a recipe like this because I heard they can get sick if you just switch their diet. Also is this just a treat or can you continually feed stuff like this to your dog?

  • corn is used just as a filler for dogs. im pretty sure it has no real health benefits for them. my dog is very allergic to corn, as most dogs are, and im glad that you mentioned that some dogs are allergic! many people dont know that. it messes with their skin. i thought you were supposed to puree veggies because dogs cant break them down like humans can due to their shorter intestinal track or something or other...

  • dis is sooo helpfull chef

    thnxxx..

btw I owe 5 dog's n they all drive me insane...............I don't know what to do about theri diet's until now....so yay...thnx to you

you saved my day for feeding hehhe..

    thnx

  • 34 people are Jealous of that puppy and his yummy meal : ))

  • Thanks for the great recipes!

  • that dog must be really lucky..

  • @kmuehter get a life

  • @ChefTips You know you're doing something right when you have haters.

    Cheers

  • @EmceeDG

    Ha ha! Thanks!

  • That looks soo bomb. All these losers dont have a life so they gotta hate ;)

  • Have you ever ate dog food? It tastes just like it smells.......

    Delicious

  • A much better video would be one giving a list of things dogs are toxic to, like raisins, macadamia nuts, chewing gum, chocolate, cheese, onions, etc.

    Think of it this way:

My dog has NEVER had "dog breath", and his teeth are sparkling white.

His coat is super soft and naturally shiny.

He has never had any intestinal problems/diarrhea, etc.

He has never had weight problems. ( Well, after we took him OFF of the dog food. )

Geezus! It's worth it for the "dog breath" aspect alone! :O

  • @lotr4000 Great. I'll be looking forward to your video.

  • @lotr4000 Ya can you please make a video because I saw on your channel that you do cooking videos. I feed my dog wellness and the ingredients look good and he's seems healthy but you seem like you have done a lot of research on giving your dog a healthier diet. Maybe share with us noobs? Also my dog gets stinky breath chewing his bone which I think they said was made of esophagus. any recommendations?

  • @justonemorename Glad you liked it. Cheers! Jason

  • aren't tomatoes bad for dogs?

  • mmmmmmmmm.. i think i can eat this dog food.. delicious

  • it looks abit like shepherds pie lool

  • Dogs cant eat cheese can they? Cheese contains lactose < i dont knonw if i spelled it right

  • ah, I hoped he would show how to cook the dog and not for the dog!!!

  • @kenshin3002 Haha!

  • i want more dog food recipes..

  • can u send me dog food recipes?thanks..

  • 我が家の夕食より手間がかかってるやん^^

  • SHIH TZUUUUUU <3

  • @poofyhamsters i always thought it was shiatzu

  • Wow the comments on this are way more entertaining than the video. Its a recipe. If theres a part you dont like then change it like you would with any other recipe. At one point or another both of my dogs have eaten everything in this recipe and many other things that they randomly seem to get their paws on. I am definately going to try something very similar to this recipe this weekend. Thanks for the video!

  • Way too much sodium in those canned veggies and tomato soup. Try frozen. Corn is not bad. It's a carb filler, no better or worse than rice, wheat, oat or soy. However, whole kernel sweet corn will probably pass through undigested.

    Variety is the key.

  • i just ate half pack of crunchy bones my dogs sad :(

  • um how much of each ingredients for a bigger dog thats about 40-55 pounds

  • @TechnoNeko1 You could feed them about half of the casserole.

  • Cool! I'm so going to make my dog some BarkFast =)

  • i really think the cheese should be left out.

  • @choco33333333 Then leave it out. :)

  • wow, everyone can eat all together, humans ans pets!

  • the cheeses r too expensive for me, could u replace them with anything cheaper?

  • @MrPurplemonsta Just leave them out and it will still be OK. Enjoy!

  • how long dose it keep?

  • @billwalts900 About 4-5 days in the refrigerator.

  • damn, your dog eats better than I do.

  • Is turkey bad for dogs?

  • In Philippines anything delicious will eat by our pet dogs lol!

  • I was wondering do you know any good homemade dog food for German shepereds to make them a lil bulkier because my dog hates eating commerical dog food.

  • @boili101 Boil Cows heart , slice it up and add rice ,or plain dog biscuit , The heart is pretty rich and will make your dog gain weight , this of course will be complimented by lots of exercise .

  • Sugar is so sweet! It nearly slipped while running to its bowl...

  • Tomatoes are toxic to dogs. Red tomatoes that are fully ripe are the least toxic part of the plant. Reality is though there is no good reason to add them as an ingredient to dog food.

  • I thought tomatoes were toxic to dogs???!

  • @laurajdahl

I have never heard of that.

  • @laurajdahl I think it's the leaves that are toxic

  • @laurajdahl Yha Never heard of that, tomato's are fine for dogs, they love pasta...

  • @laurajdahl Tomatoes are toxic to cats but not dogs.

  • @laurajdahl Tomatoes that are used in industry to make ketchup, soups and such are usually heavily sprayed with herbicides and insecticides. The tomato byproducts (waste) is used in products such as dog food. This is where the concern is. This does not mean that tomatoes are indeed toxic. If you use fresh well washed tomatoes or soup then it is fine.

  • Lucky dog. That looks a lot tastier than anything I've seen squeeze out of a can. The cheese seems a little strange for dog food though.

  • its not wise to give your dog any type of tamatos

  • haha, dog food? I think i could eat it myself!

  • Good job chef i love ur recipe and love how u love ur dog i will do the same if i have ur dog lol at the end the dog say hey haters this how treat dogs

  • Jack cheese makes my dogs throw up. They are fine with cheddar.

  • This guy's dog eats better than I do half the time! How 'bout some rice cooked in chicken broth with potatoes and maybe peas and carrots for the DOG? Parmesan cheese? Ground BEEF? (and with CANNED veggies....somehow that part lost me completely).

  • lookssomewhat yummy but mostly looks like puke

  • As others have said dogs do not need corn, nor do they need cheese, as dairy is also bad for their system.

I make my own homemade dog food as well, but I use things like carrots, peas, potatoes, brown rice, olive oil, and whatever meat I buy that week added with ShowStopper. it's dog food, not human food. I mean haven't vets been telling us for years that human food is bad for our pets?

  • Dog can not digest corn. they do not need (should not eat) to eat corn ever.

  • this might be a stupid question but ...what is the need for the yeast???

  • @627pts

Good question. From what I have read, the brewer's yeast, when not activated in a recipe, is added for nutritional value.

  • @627pts it also helps keep fleas down. like garlic, alot of debate on garlic.. but if your dog is demadictic ( heriditary mange) dont use it

  • FAGOT !

  • @dodotube123

Is that the best you can do?

    Geez, you haters are creative!

  • @ChefTips And, can't spell, for that matter!!

  • @dodotube123 if you're going to be that awful, you might want to learn to spell first.

  • @itsageoffrushthing

    Hahaa! Good one!

  • puaggggg

  • great idea

  • Whaha 1:52 The dog had a bit too much speed XD

  • @Saturos60

Ha ha! Good observation. She still does that...

  • This is a great recipe. I have been trying to feed my border collie more homemade food. I don't agree with all the people who are so paranoid about what there dogs are eating at all. My dog is super healthy and I give her my leftovers almost everyday. She is lean , has a shiny coat and no health problems. She even has had her fair share of chocolate. ..... o:)

  • @nikkicatdoll Thanks... We just made this recipe for a little treat. People get way too freaky about something that's meant for fun. I agree with you completely.

  • Wtf i know people who dont eat this well, me being one of em

  • VERY LUCKY DOG! HE HAS HIS OWN CHEF! :D

  • even as a treat i wouldn't give my babies that...cheese, tomatoes and ground beef?? seriously they would be having diarrhea all day lol

  • I ran this by my vet... he was appalled. This would be OK for a treat maybe once a month, but not for a daily healthy diet. Not even close.

  • @meucci42 I'm not suggesting this for a daily diet. It's meant to be a treat.

  • @ChefTips No offense. But why the hell would people make "recipes" for their dogs. No dog food is healthier than Raw meat and bones. So i don't really see the point in messing around buying dog food or making balanced recipes. Dogs with a "balanced diet" of dog food will still be no way near as healthy as dogs who eat the real thing, no offense. That's just how i see it. Why bother

  • A home based diet for dogs must be tested on nutrients and minerals to make sure they get what is needed to develop or maintain bone structure, skin, coat, vision....too much or too less will create an impact on the dogs life and health

  • @anieves913

Sorry, I have my account set up so that I can approve the comments before they post.

  • this recipe is not good ...much less healthy! for dogs!

No corn..No tomato!....there are dogs allergic to carrots...

this is completely wrong in nutritional values and ingredients. a MUST NOT DO! for sure.

  • @anieves913

    A MUST NOT DO?

Is your comment based on facts or rumor? Show us some facts to back your comment.

My dog loved it and is doing fine.

  • corn and cheese is a nono the soup is a bad idea as well with all the salt u might as well feed the dog a big mac

  • they're not popular

  • corn

  • no it makes them poop alot and running

  • @amy617747803

What makes them poop a lot?

  • These comments about corn being bad for your dog is stupid. They eat it, digest it, and walla! No harm done.

  • Yeast is very toxic to dogs

  • @sandyambersalem

Really? Sugar is still alive and well. No toxic reaction was ever observed after she ate this.

  • @ChefTips You are very lucky! My dog Sandy had seizures and almost died on her last birthday cause the baker put yeast in her cake. If you look up on the aspca website toxic stuff to dogs yeast is on the list.

  • @sandyambersalem

I don't know what to say here.

Could it be that Sandy just had seizures because she was old on her last birthday?

  • @ChefTips It was her 1st birthday in september last year. She is still alive and has not had another seizure since. Some dogs are imunne to stuff, my other dog Amber is not lactose intolerant like most dogs. But I do like this recipe and made it this morning for my 3 dogs they loved it i just didn't use the yeast and corn :) corn can make dogs have runny poop.

  • wtf no sound and yes corn is really bad for dogs

  • @amy617747803

I have read it is not bad, but really has no nutritional value.

  • dairy for dogs? fido's gonna thank you by shitting all over your house.

  • @adammelchert

    Nope. She was fine.

  • DOG EATS BETTER THAN I DO

  • @faidley79

Ha ha! The dog does not like this everyday.

  • @faidley79 HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!

  • You cook it? Poor dog, my dogs get RAW meat. Dogs don't eat COOKED they eat RAW!

  • wtf thats human food lol. my dogg would get dogg food and sum left overs and she was happy wit some treats..that is wayy too much effort

  • lolz? he eat the dog food in the end

  • Wow your German Shepherd lived to 15? That's excellent for a large breed!

  • haha my friends think its weird that we make our dog homemade dog food.

  • don't know about the carrots and corn, seems like you need to sustute for some else

    pet_health_expert

  • corn is terrible for dogs! Vets aren't that bright on dog nutrition. would wolves eat that stuff??? if veggies arenbt pureed they cant break em down

  • @pammeadows101

Corn is terrible for dogs? My dogs poop showed no signs of corn in it when I picked it up. Maybe, just maybe her little stomach did what it was suppose to do.

Of course wolves do not eat this stuff. And BTW, my dog is a dog, not a wolf. I am just sayin....

  • @ChefTips Not to be harsh, but this is a pretty bad recipe for dog food. First of all, red meat isn't particularly healthy, it promotes cancer cells. Corn is not very nutritional and it's bad for the dogs digestive system. It's basically just a filler like rice. And like corn, wheat is a common allergen in dogs and it has no nutritional value. And dairy products like cheese isn't very healthy either.

  • @pammeadows101

Corn is not "terrible" for dogs. It just doesn't offer that much of a nutrtional benefit. In case you haven't noticed, when humans eat corn, it comes out in their poop too, it doesn't mean that they didn't receive any nutrional benefit from it. People get confused about corn for dogs because the crappy dog food companies use corn instead of real meat and that's an inferior source of protein. That's all. Otherwise corn is fine.

  • i found it its under eating dog, garlic, hot peppers, ginger.

  • Now I really wish I was a dog...

  • @EsotericDesi Ha!

  • hi chef, what size casserole dish did u use?

  • @ck1kid

Hi. It was just a standard size bread-loaf dish.

  • try using some peanut butter dogs love that just dont put too much :D

  • Thanks for the casserole recipe. Makes a nice sandwich.

  • I would probably eat that

  • wow...i had read some of these comments, & i can't believe what people say about corn and tomatoes (soup)...why not just strain the corn and deluted with some chicken broth? this way it can be digested.

  • Yes, I think people are going a bit overboard about this. The meatloaf is meant as a little treat for your dog and not a sub for its regular diet. Our dog had no trouble digesting any of it.

  • wow...that looked so good and easy to make...and what got to me is that you tasted it!!! lol oh my...i'm going to try it out for my little chihuahua...thank you

  • You're welcome! Hope your pup enjoys it!

  • Looks like Sugar is eating higher quality food than many human children in this country.

  • i LOVE the ide of making your dogs food for them bc there is horrible stuff in dog food (like euthanized dogs and cats)

but i do not agree with putting wheat and yeast (two things that can cause bad skin) and cheese is unnecessary as well. Cooking the vegetables drains a lot of the nutrition from the food I only suggest cooking the meat and leaving the rest raw.

  • i made that for my dog ,,but then i ate it all,,it was good

  • @rdalusio

    Ha ha! Thanks for that!

  • How long can this be stored? Also, what would be an appropriate serving size for a large (around 80lbs) dog?

  • Perhaps 3 days in the refrigerator. Feed the same amount of food you normally give the dog. Perhaps about 1/3rd of the casserole.

  • I used this with just a little twist, instead of beef I used ground chicken and excluded the corn and put peas in its place, (no salt sweet peas mind you, too much salt in them canned goods as it is.) Then added rice to the mix, one little bag of the 'boil-in-a-bag' rice did the trick, and then I used colby jack cheese instead of monterey jack

Reason for the Chicken is to be easier on their tummies.

One is a Purebred Maltese, her constitution is very sensitive.

    Thanks for the video.

  • Thanks for sharing your revisions. Sounds perfect! Hope she enjoyed it. Jason

  • Thanks for TUBING in. LOL :) I would make this recipe with vegetarian ingredients myself, as I know the truth about hamburger.

  • aww that's so cute you even have recipes for animals. Thats great!

  • (ctd) I don't know about parmesan, though: given the price, it's a rare luxury here, and I don't think my dog should be eating better than I am :D.

I give my dog scraps several times a week, usually in the form of Thai, Indian, Ethiopian, Chinese, Japanese, or Italian foods, which are the foods that I prepare (I love to cook) and order in the most often. He loves them, is very healthy, and probably has a more international and sophisticated palate than most of the people I know :D.

  • @vorpal22

    Lol, thanks for comments!

  • LOL *rolls eyes*. I can't believe how uptight some people are about their animal's nutrition. Seriously, if they invested that much time and thought into their own nutrition, we'd have a fraction the obesity rate and incidence of health problems that we have today.

My admiration goes out to you, Chef Jason, for being so patient with the asshats that are coming and spouting off at you for preparing this sumptuous treat for your dog. (ctd)

  • @vorpal22

Thanks for comments. I really appreciate it!

    Jason

  • i had a st.bernard named Sugar too.. *high five* for dogs named sugar ;)...

  • @LindsayBBW25

    Hi FIVE! Ha ha! ;)

  • Such an adorable dog! Do you mind if I ask what kind it is? :3 It's looks like one I had when I was a child.

I will have to try this for my dogs next Christmas so they can get in on the festivities as well. xD
