Oh come on! You gotta' admit that pop being all gassed up laughing, yelling "Merry Christmas!" and then falling down and passing out under the Xmas tree is pretty damn funny. Why does his wife have to be such a downer and ruin it for everyone else? She should get into the festivities too. And women wonder why they get a smack in the chops on occasions like these.
I can remember being in 1st grade and the teacher asking the class one by one, "what was our favorite Christmas song?" When she got to me, I told her this song. She had to leave the room in a hurry. The class thought I had made her cry. She went to the office to call my mom laughing hysterically because she knew my parents well.
My mom waited about 15 years later to tell me the truth, but she told me to not mention that song at school because it would send the wrong message.
always found this song went both ways... was Daddy drunk or was the seven year olds perception wrong... whatever... he was traumatized and tell us a lesson about what we teach our children ! take care !!!
this is why i dont like C+W

takes me back to childhood! I remember this as being an annual Christmas album my parents played! Merry Christmas to all.

@miss7507 I don't think you're my kid because I played this album every Christmas. I still have it and love it.

John Denver is a whiny little bitch. I would totally high five my dad if he fell asleep under the Christmas tree.
