  • Outstanding ! both !

  • They sing "lying low" instead of "laying low"! Good for them.

  • there are guys in my neighborhood that would kiss Alison Krauss right in the mouth... I mean in the mouth on the first date... not just the mouth but several other places that she may be fond of... What an electric female.. everything she does, does something for me... She is a national treasure... we are privilaged to live in a time when we can hear her sing from a thousand miles away.. Thank you lord for Alison Krauss...

  • Wow! What a great duo! Two greats together.

  • I never thought JT could get any better than he already is but AK makes anyone she sings with better by far. What an incredibly gifted woman.

  • Lovely harmony. I would be hard put to choose between this and his solo. Both equally beautiful

  • do you ever get tired of talking about your dick?

  • watch?v=zBy9t171DEM

(Alison and James would love to hear this woman's sweet voice)

  • @MrBlueSkyMrNight

holy shit mr!! you weren't kidding.

  • @SteelToedTank - Glad you took the chance (trusted me) to hear that

woman's beautiful, beautiful voice. Out of respect for this video (the artists

and fans) - I won't mention her name. But I put some of her other work in

my different parts of my channel (but go to Itunes to just hear even more -

they let you hear a sample - you don't have to buy anything if you don't want

    to). Take care and enjoy.

  • Six people have no ears. Or that's three people.

  • whats not to like? because its not S & G is not good enough reason. If youre so unreluctant to accept a great cover, you are musicaly challenged.

  • @Pawlzee not just because is no S &G is because it sounds like another song is not the bohert I know and think is one of thebest of S & G Isaid I woul have liked if I

would'nt have heatd the original....Allison sing in a duet with some other woman (dont remenber the name ) and that's really beautiful as the S & G anyway I respect your opinion

  • @master72734 Shawn Colvin is the other woman.

  • I Don't like it at all ..maybe if I woud'nt have heard the original Paul and Art Iwould have liked it because the song is great ,but this is the worst version of all the others Ive heard.. tey changed the harmony of ehe voices and sounds like a diferent melody this is just my point of you I respect yours

  • @master72734 I really like James and Allison but I have to agree for the most part. Great song like this needs to stay same on the two parts as far as timing and parts remaining equally harmonious without being completely congruent. My point of you too.

  • @master72734 I lived during the time of S$G. This rendition has the alternative harmony's that S&G didn't have the freedom to try. They were signed to a label and HAD to make a song that would fit the expectations of the popular vote. I'm absolutely sure they tried other arrangements but sadly those didn't get recorded. Allison has an amazing ability to harmonize with (probably) anybody and is really a refreshing voice to an otherwise worn out song. ymmv

  • love

you ur the best james sounds good too

  • his mic is too hot.

  • Sorry, but she kicks his ass. Sweet Baby James has done nothing to move him forward in 30 years, at least that I've heard. Maybe he can tour with Carole King, though she has done a little.

  • @Aerohog1 Although I like Alison Krauss, you've obviously not been paying attention if you think that JT has done NOTHING in the past 30 years. At least go listen to October Road and then go listen to the dozens other duets he's done in the past 10 years before you make such an uninformed statement.

  • First time I've seen this, what a great cover of one of music's masterpieces. I agree, i love the way the switch melody/harmony parts.

  • Sorry to be gross..... But Alison makes Art sound like a fart....... another "new favorite" here.....

  • @camusmuse So I take it so sing better- duck breath?

  • @bobmon54 Can you read? I said HER voice was better, not MINE......

  • @bobmon54 .....and duck breath???? is that really the best you could come up with.....how do you know what a duck's breathe smells like? Need to get out more and leave those animals alone!

  • thank you Allison, C

  • who could sing this song better than simon. alison of course. she could sing the telephone book

  • They left out at least one verse.

  • boaah, I hate it when my damn PC keeps seriously freezing in the middle of such a fantastic song AAAAARGH

Lucky this song can bring my furious temper back down as soon as was playing from beginning to end without any more problems...

  • This is truly beautiful - harmonies are just spellbinding and not so simplistic as the original - James Taylor and Alison Krauss you cant really go wrong can you - both amazing !!!

  • I wonder what it's like to be Paul Simon and to have written several of the best songs ever written... The Boxer -"Greatest song ever written!" Bridge Over Troubled..."Greatest song ever..." Homeward Bound "Oh! Greatest song..." American Tune - "Oh, now jeez - best song ever written!" Hah. Paul Simons don't come along very often.

  • Fantastic vocals ! Where is this from ?

  • This is one of the greatest songs ever written, and while nothing will ever match to original, this is a great rendition. Can't argue with James Taylor playing a Paul Simon song.

  • Alison is great. James is great

  • highwayman, thank you for sharing this - I get shivers down my spine hearing James perform "the boxer".

  • James has talked about his nervousness in front of crowds before , he is no where near as petrified as Barba Streistand (who refused to perform live for years) .You can hear James fumble many of his verbal intros (introducing the songs ) on many occasions. This song was performed poorly in contrast to Garfunkles . Just listen criticaly . I love James dont get me wrong.

  • Lovely

  • Wonderful! I love the way they take turns singing lead and harmony. A very special recording of a treasured song. Thank-you

  • Everybody wants to sing with Alison. Who can blame them?

  • Sounds like James was a little nervous (crowd anxiety / stage fright) and sung this a tad too fast .

  • @flyingscience ..James nervous ?....You're joking right ?......And please tell how you know what the tempo was to be ..?

  • @flyingscience that sounds fuckin dumb bro

  • @ShinyJumpluff You must of just woke up from under your rock!

  • @bcrawfordj9 im sorry, but JT? stagefright? dude knows what he is doing. perhaps his tempo didnt rub you right, but that is the artistic nature of a cover. he was not nervous.

  • two very gifted and talented artists. thanks you for sharing....

  • needs more snare. and more reverb on the snare.

  • @tjalla What about more cowbell??

  • @macklee49 dam right we could use some more cowbell and at a fast tempo!

  • Great song by a great woman nothing more to say xxxx hugs from hollywoodblue1 thanks for a great upload

  • Wow. All I can say is wow. This duet is incredible.

  • @paparmp

this could have been one of the finest duets of all time. they shoud have rehearst more than 5 mins.

  • great version!

  • Any idea of this version is for sale anywhere? I love it!

  • @ohbrotherbrigham

Lee DeWyze did it^^ It's on iTunes:)

  • Alison Kraus is, IMO, one of the genius voices of our generation. James Taylor is the blueprint and if it's possible his voice, power and character keep getting better year after year...

  • @rainmaneverson you're 100% .. I'm listening to Alison for my 1st time today, but I've been a great fan of JT for exactly 36 years by now (true). I admit if I played guitar reasonably (in my life) I own it to him. And his voice & guitar don't know the meaning of "agin'".. I guarantee . Kepp on rocking JT and thank you !

  • Beautiful sound..Awesome duet !!

    2 Thumbs up..

    Sherry

  • Still Alison disappears in front at the VOICE of James.

  • Thanks for sharing! Good stuff though I personally prefer the one with AK and Shawn Colvin at the Paul Simon tribute.

From when and where is this recording?

  • This is from the Kennedy Center Honors for Paul Simon. I personally didn't care for the AK/Shawn Colvin one as much, even though Alison was much more heavily featured.

  • @jasonbb Thanks for the info! :)

  • i love this. beautiful blending of voices. love this song. thank you for sharing with me. 10stars. god bless you, margie
