@GIDAN2987 The red line is test depth...it's the maximum the sub is rated for at peak hull integrity, but they can actually go lower as long as you're not damaged, don't go too low, and don't stay under for too long.
Clear and thorough presentation, thanks. One observation: you seem to be at All Stop throughout the attack. This would never happen in WW2 subs--they had to keep some way on to hold depth and position. And you would be ascending by blowing ballast if you had no speed, creating noise as well as losing control. Perhaps more realistic would be hovering at PD at 1 knot slightly outside the track... but your torps have extra short range?
@zsqpwxxeh All true about the realism points. A real skipper would never have tried a shot like this. A real skipper wouldn't have even had Mk 10 torpedoes loaded unless he was in an S-Boat. But I'm just a little kid at heart, and I don't have fun unless I can be a cowboy going in with two guns blazing.
Torpedoes. Those are Mark 10's, WW1-era torpedoes...short range, low speed, only a contact trigger, but they're very consistent. Mk 14's are just too unreliable.
What a fantastic attack! I don't care if it's not exactly 100% realizm, as long as its manual targeting with minimal contact updates its still great! Surprized though you were lucky to have no duds. I would love to see more of your videos demonstrating how to attack manually. I have a young American campaign with manual torpedo entree and I can definatly use more practice with it. Let me know if your doing more of these heck I'll subscribe in a heartbeat! 5*
