Hi there. Great recipe. I make my Lipton soup mix and cream of soups from scratch, so it's lower in salt (I have high BP so I can't have the salt) Looks delicious. I bet this would be amazing with pork chops too. I can't wait to make this!
I learned this recipe years ago from some med students at Harvard. You can also do the same thing with cheap pot roasts: One pot roast, one pk of onion soup mix, one can of mushroom soup and 1/2 can of water. Give it 8-10 hours on low and you end up with tender roast and wonderful gravy. Delicious!
it seriously scares me how much processed food gets put into homeade food these days. i must be insane i even bake my own bread from scratch, no mixes, no additives, all organic, no nothing canned frozen packaged. am i crazy?
We're having French Onion burgers tonight so I might just have to post a little "how to" on those. I love how everyone is sharing their favs right now...what a wonderful group we have!
I bet cream of broccoli or a campbell's cheese soup would be great also...especially with frozen chopped broccoli added instead of mushrooms (I'm not a huge broccoli fan, but my family is)

mmmm I"m going to try that. Is there anything I can substitute for the cream of mushroom (because I don't like mushroom) ?
FamilyOfThreeNow 2 years ago
Just take the basic idea and you could do so much with it. I think that any creamy soup would be great!
