Plus look at the way Bennet is dressed, and his mustache, and his dialogue throughout the whole film. This film is almost as gay as Top Gun, at least here heterosexuality won out.

The writers must have made this up as they went along. The Commando is pinned down, injured, the gay man has a gun and the daughter. What can the Commando do?

Commando uses lame reverse psychology on the gay man making him release the girl and throw away his gun.
