love the awkward end where the camera kept rolling, just a seond or 2, not too bad, but I've been there. On my other account I have a video where I make a notation which reads "AWKWARDDDDDD!!!" Great video though.
ive read both julie and julia and julia child's "my life in france", and i can assure you that the movie is a poor caricature of both women, but mainly of the lovely julia child, mareyl streep's performance is a patronizing insult to julia's memory, and her proud admission that she mainly studied dan akroyd's imitations of julia rather then the actual julia shows the lack of regard she had for julia and for the audience. how she won any award for it is BEYOND COMPREHENSION to me!
@Caroliney27 wherever you heard that Meryl Streep did her research for the movie from only Dan Ackroyd's imitation, you have grossly misunderstood the JOKE! For heaven's sake. So 16 time Oscar Nominee and 2 time Oscar winner Meryl is NOT going to study Julia? Julia's own relatives beg to differ. And how else would she have done the TV scene that is almost identical?
There is a video on this very site comparing the potato pancake scenes...Almost identical?
I thought that Miss Streep's performance was more of a parody as opposed to an homage....please don't get me started about how weak the storyline and ending were. I'd rather have seen an entire movie about Miss Child and her fascinating life played by an actress who could have given her the homage that she deserved, instead of the parody that Meryl Streep delivered.
I couldn't even finish the movie. It was just a poor effort all around.
I got a documentary made by PBS from the library about Mrs. Child's life and I can tell you that it was infinitely more entertaining, and emotional, that that awful film.
Come on tierra, give the man a break. Of course he has credibility, he raves about Julia. I saw Rachael Ray's photo too, and was disgusted but men don't have the DNA to notice things like that. And he uses Julia's omelet recipe, he's OK in my book.

@RightWingCon81 thats pretty much how every PBS show ends, there's always an awkward pause, its like an awkward tradition.

He got the movie title wrong. It is not "Julia and Julia," but rather "Julie and Julia."

Is that Rachel Ray in the background? I would find it a little odd for him to have a framed picture of her on his desk. It's probably someone else

How can you even mention Julia Child's name with a picture of that hack Rachel Ray in the background. You have zero credibility!
