Anyone who thinks the price of netflix was going to say cheap forever is stupid. Wow the price went up so what, it is still 300% cheaper then paying fot the average price of tv which is always full price. If you don't like 10 dollars a month go and pay $130 with directv dish or comcast
Want to keep seeing these movies legally? Use something else.
Want to save even more money? Torrent and DDL that shit. It's not like the industry deserves your money anyway. Afraid of getting caught? Use private trackers or DDLs.
Once all the movie rental stores closed and theyre on top online what reason do they have to keep the price that low, the goodness of their heart? In a multibillion corporation ha
I agree with the end of the video. Even at $16 a month, that's a hell of a value. And you don't have to pay through the roof for theater candy, soda and popcorn, either. You just get that stuff at Walmart and the dollar store.
But ya this is a common business pratice. Start low to draw them in then once u have them u got 'em and can do just about what u want until sometime equal or better comes along ex. Google and Facebook
Man the background music at 0:34 to 0:46 made the characters sound like they were yelling, when actually it was the music. Also why does the guy turn into a tree, is it because they all think that he is making mad cash, and that money grows off of trees.
It's quite a price hike, but people will still pay. They still have the best selection and it's always cheaper to rent, unless you're one of those people that forgets to watch the movie for over a month.
@jaymthegenius Because most people only watch DVD movies once or twice so the cost isn't worth it. Netflix lets you see the movie for just a fraction of that. Also, DVD's look like shit next to Blu-ray and Netflix lets you rent Blu-ray discs for just a dollar more a month.
@nisbahmumtaz909 LOL. Seriously, why the hell do people even pay for movies? I get my HD movies for free in about 20 minutes of downloads. Screw the movie industry and their over payed actors.
Oh you bunch of crybabies. You think it's cheap trying to provide such a service for such a low price?
Considering the exponential growth of the service, and the fact that they are planning on going international, it makes more than enough sense to increase it the way they have.
@Nomoreidsleft I know. But if you can't pay for something, don't get it. It hard to keep up with the ever growing number of costumers to keep the price at the constant it's been.
@sonicmandx12 Yeah, right. I can afford food and shelter now, but if the cost went up by 70%, like Netflix, I would have to cut back. This is just price gouging, plain and simple. Either that or they were pricing it below cost @$9.99, to attract people, and now they're pulling a bait and switch. The only valid reason for them to raise prices by this amount would be if their costs have gone up, and they have no justification for that.
@Nomoreidsleft I see your point. They shouldn't have spiked the price so rapidly, so I can see where you're coming from. Maybe a few bucks would have been better, not 7. Although costs for them HAVE gone up, the price went up WAY too quickly.
@uBeR1337gUy Nah. International users will be using the instant streaming now, which is the reason for the price spike. I'm pretty sure they'll have enough to compensate for the heretics.
@sonicmandx12 - my complaint is they need to make the Instant Streaming selections as comprehensive as the physical disc selection. I can only watch "The Bad News Bears" so many times...
@DejectedPanda But they'll compensate it by having the stream only option internationally. That's what their plans are, and it would open up a whole slew of costumers. Way more than the costumers lost.
@sonicmandx12 The 'exponential growth of the service' is in the number of subscribers which drives costs *down* relative to revenue, not up.
It's actually pretty predictable that Netflix pricing has risen with its competition in the toilet, but this fast? The price of the most common plans is basically going to double from a year ago. The DVD pricing is now completely inferior to Red Box.
@sonicmandx12 They are charging more because they can charge more, not because they have to. There is no other competing service so they can charge whatever they want.
@illustriouschin You're not understanding that it costs money to provide this service when the amount of people using it is constantly increasing. If it costs more for someone to provide a service, they're obviously going to have to charge more for it.
@sonicmandx12 They are currently making a profit at $10 a month per customer, that means that with each new customer they are still making a profit, so it doesn't matter how many new customers they get, they are still making a profit on each one without needing to raise prices.
@express375 Oh. Take the hippie crap elsewhere. Prices go up. Costs go up. The costumers that they got probably didn't make up for the amount of bandwidth they needed. If you really wanted something cheaper, you'd be torrenting right now.
@express375 If it were wit, or in any way superior, the grammar would be a bit better, and you wouldn't be using the word fail to point out errors. This is just pretentious and weak.
@express375 I replied I was expecting a good debate. Not a dick who has this unwanted self-importance. I would have accepted a good answer. Like the other guy who said that I sound like the people who were defending America Online, and look what I happened. I accepted his point and praised it. You, on the other hand, are just being a dickhead who likes to just insult and assume you are right, even though there isn't even an argument going on.
@express375 If you weren't insulting, you wouldn't be trying to put people down to get your point across. You have to think that whoever thinks differently from you has to be stupid or crazy. You aren't even aware of it. You honestly think that anyone cares about this "debate" that's going on. You keep thinking that you're somehow winning. Where is this going? Nowhere. Take your shitty attitude somewhere else, you pretentious prick. Netflix raises prices to cover costs. End of story.
@express375 You are a troll. You're possibly the reason people hate nerds. I don't understand why the FUCK you bothered saying anything to me, you brainless idiot. All you did was make yourself look like someone who has his head up his own ass so far up that they don't realize how smug they sound. Don't you get that you made no effort to argue your point about Netflix? Whatever, idiot.
You replied to me,trying to act superior, when you didn't get any joy you resorted immature foul insulting language(now who's the troll.) As we can all see.
I'll leave you in peace now.Your obviously somewhat insecure.I was just teasing you,for fun,and hopefully teach you..
