still playing the same old riffs Roger,. have to amire that you have got away with it for over 30 years now. keep it up ....Len Howard ex Samisen bass player. ps hows Dave Shirley?
@UruwashiiKan Ummm... thats completely subjective. I happen to feel differently. Also, the only video you have favorited on your channel is about 2pac. I could say the exact same thing about him, but it would be equally subjective. Really seems pointless to even discuss.
Saw Liane last night at Jazz and Pizza, Dean St. she and indeed her band are the greatest human beings on the planet. I left with my son, both of us in a transformed state. she did this number and the boys were really letting their hair down - She Rocks!!
Just viewed this following a link from elsewhere. I've seen Lianne a few times at The Stables and she is simply the best modern jazz singer bar our beloved Cleo. And even then, I think Lianne's scat is the best there has ever been - even better than Ella, who, after all, only started scat 'cos she could never remember her words!
And if you want a real treat, get The Passion - the trio of Lianne with Jackie Dankworth and Sara Colman - amazing
Many jazz musicians/ entertainers have been rated national treasures in the States- Louis Armstrong and Ellington for example. I was making a point that Lianne is a performer of the highest calibre and desrves far more recognition than she garners in the UK. Frankly, there are female jazz singers in the UK who gain far more recognition than Lianne. In many countries other than Britain she would receive it. Essentially you made my point for me.
Liane is a national treasure and anywhere else but Britain would be treated as such. Her technique is wonderful but even more, her great humanity shines through. She's a joy to watch and listen to. As one of your other contributors said, the bassist's not bad too- nor the drummer for that matter. Wonderful and so spirited the lot of em.
This is special for sure, but Fletch, I am in heaven when I hear you play! We were on tour together a long time ago. It was eventful to say the least. Sometimes though it was difficult to be looking at the audience when you've got Fletch behind you. What a massive player.
ME SWEDE'S BOSTIN! i can only guess oo this is but GIMME A SHOUT! if this ay Carl u can get me number off him or gu into my youtube site. There's more stuff for u to enjoy!!!

Saw her at Ronnie Scotts about a dozen years ago and was captured. A great perforner and an incredible talent. And also a very nice person.

I agree that she's a fantastic musician and performer but where else in the world would she be a "national treasure"?
At the end of the day, she's a jazz musician and jazz has a marginal audience in the UK.
