I agree ... best superbowl commercial this past year--one of the best of all time. I only saw it once during the game and kept trying to catch it again later when they were showing clever superbowl commercials.

Not only funny as hell, but it makes its point very well--in modern times we have settled for bad service from many companies and organizations. CarMax's commercial about the two jokers breaking out of jail to find how tough everything is on the outside is also very, very funny.

The guy is obviously super paranoid or high.... or both. I don't understand this commercial, I would KILL for that kind of service these days at gas stations! The best you get is some old lady wearing a Wawa vest, yelling at you if you don't turn your engine off and some crappy music playing near the pumps. Service like this doesn't exist anymore at gas stations. I'm only 32 but I do remember being at a gas station like that as a kid (accept for the vacuuming).

Actually...service WAS like that in this commercial. I grew up during that time and the service attendants were friendly and I was surprised to hear the moderator say,..."shouldn't be a thing of the past." If anything, it should say "should be like times in the past." Everything has been affected. Just look at all CSR behavior. They will cut you off or just hang up at the slightest mention of a complaint. Whatever happened to the addage, "the customer is always right??????"

@patNdurham You're absolutely right! I was thinking the same thing when I saw this commercial. I'd kill for that kind of service these days. Customers are treated like shit these days. All they care about is getting you're money, and if you have a problem after that, its "Sorry man, I already have your money". Business practices got higher and higher as time progressed from the dark ages (starting with swindlers and shady tradesmen), only to drop way down suddenly in the late 20th century.

I agree with you with the simple act of Kindness. But you are taking it waaay to seriously. This is just a TV commercial. He pulls up into the gas station not knowing that he is back in time. (50's) when during at that time they really had that many gas station tenants servicing your car and inthe 70's it was only one tenat fueling your car,checking your oil and cleaning your windows. So inthe commercial he did know what was going on. Basically. The commercial is funny. Have a sense of Humor.

We should all work on being nicer and more patient with the people around us!
