Firstly, in Islam women are allowed to pray in the mosque - mosques that do not accommodate women space becomes a priority for men to pray the obligatory Friday prayer from which women are exempt. Or else, they are usually run by 'uncles' with a patriarchal hangover - this is not part of Islam. It's more problematic in India/Pakistan when it comes to women praying in mosques, otherwise not an issue.
@viccram the mosque is a space dedicated and allocated specifically for the purpose of prayer and there is special effort in providing segregation because most women would actually agree with the fact that they go there to pray and would like some privacy from men trying to even socialise with them. No diff to some segregated gyms. A man praying in the street shouldn't obstruct a pathway/entrance, and the onus is on him to further focus on prayer regardless of what surrounds him.
@viccram again, if you think a man or woman praying in a street is 'drama' then that's your problem. If someone is not doing any harm to anyone and is not getting directly in anyone's path, then it shouldn't be anyone's business whether someone prays in a public space. I am more bothered by people urinating in elevators, against walls, in parking lots, and by people exchanging drugs or drinking copius amounts of alcohol and becoming a nuisance on the streets. I have always been taught that when you go in front of Allah, you take your shoes off. If we can wear shoes then why do we kick a fuss when a foreign dignitary visits our mosques and we force them to take their shoes off?

Hence thats why we take our shoes off at places such as mosques and home- in order to make sure that the dirty things on the base of our shoes do not encompass the prayer area. Since the area that they are praying has been trodden on with so many people's feet, weather they take their shoes off or not, will not really help with the cleanliness of the area.

Firstly, in Islam women are allowed to pray in the mosque - mosques that do not accommodate women space becomes a priority for men to pray the obligatory Friday prayer from which women are exempt. Or else, they are usually run by 'uncles' with a patriarchal hangover - this is not part of Islam. It's more problematic in India/Pakistan when it comes to women praying in mosques, otherwise not an issue.

@viccram the mosque is a space dedicated and allocated specifically for the purpose of prayer and there is special effort in providing segregation because most women would actually agree with the fact that they go there to pray and would like some privacy from men trying to even socialise with them. No diff to some segregated gyms. A man praying in the street shouldn't obstruct a pathway/entrance, and the onus is on him to further focus on prayer regardless of what surrounds him.

If someone is not doing any harm to anyone and is not getting directly in anyone's path, then it shouldn't be anyone's business whether someone prays in a public space. This is beautiful. You don't need anything to pray to God. Absolutely nothing, just the will to do so. They don't care if it's a Muslim country, they don't care if there is no mosque, they'll pray. I find it sad that people from other religions don't have the same will to do this. They're people like everyone else, just look at how they are dressed. God Bless everyone who truly believes in God, be it any religion, and are NOT afraid to show it. Extremism isn't God. Compassion and love is.

I have always been taught that when you go in front of Allah, you take your shoes off. If we can wear shoes then why do we kick a fuss when a foreign dignitary visits our mosques and we force them to take their shoes off?

@TRDR66 okay lets think of it logically. I know that our prayer area should be clean. Hence thats why we take our shoes off at places such as mosques and home- in order to make sure that the dirty things on the base of our shoes do not encompass the prayer area. Since the area that they are praying has been trodden on with so many people's feet, weather they take their shoes off or not, will not really help with the cleanliness of the area.

Secondly if u analyse the video, there were some muslims who had that praying carpet, which prevented their head being touched with the dirty ground..

When asked to him, why? he replied the angel Gabriel had come to him, to tell him his shoes were dirty, so he took them off.
