It's funny, because originally we didn't mention Taiwan, and very soon after uploading we received many complaints from Taiwanese people. We agreed that it was an oversight.

Our definition of "country" includes territories which have a distinct cultural or geographical identity. Taiwan definitely falls into both categories. Hawaii also falls into both categories although it is of course a U.S. state.

Cyprus is in Asia, not Europe. Regardless of any political alliances, it is geographically entirely in Asia. It lies on an Asian tectonic plate (the Antolian plate) and the nearest mainland to it is the Asian mainland (Turkey, Syria, Lebanon). Interestingly, the island is closer to Africa (namely, Egypt) than it is Europe (Greece). Omitting Cyprus from this video is highly misleading.
