Super, of course. Although I prefer Natalia Trull's performance, I love the fire that Ms Argerich brings to the piece and her dynamics are truly goosepimply.
@rkj1963 In my opinion, reggae would definitely require a higher IQ than hard rock and rap. Jazz requires the second highest, after classical of course.
And, Argerich is the QUEEN of this concerto! Just sayin'.
Very noble, as in, not gangster, like, but not - is like, we do the criminal thing, after the criminals happen --- not the criminals -- we hate the crime ---
no one should have to do that -- the thing we do is still kind of evil...
it's should never happen, in a happy good world
is not evil exactly, but kind of -- maybe evil but is retribution
at evil retribution, not necessary, no one have to do evil thing
is not right, but --- kind of right related, like right, sort of.
No passion but still with wonderful articulation skills!! Same in the b flat minor scherzo which I played (Brielle Perez) look me up. Martha argerich played the b section with no passion but it was really fast! The question of the day:
Martha argerich may have fast fingers and great articulation but does she have the passion to play slow pieces or sections?
Answer in ur comments, type: (yes briebrie) if u agree with me or (no briebrie) if u don't agree.
@briebriepg (no briebrie)... For playing this concerto, Argerich has recieved a Grammy Award, which is in my opinion just one of the prooves that she does give her soul into. I enjoy her prokofiev, but maybe some of her later recordings than this one...
@briebriepg I don't agree... I think she has some of the greatest passion and fire in her playing, and when she plays slowly, it's very deep and cohesive.
prokofiev is one of a kind. i highly doubt in all history anybody will be able to captivate emotions in the wonderful way he does... he will be remembered forever
She is fantastic but now there is finally competition. Try the Peter Katin version, which is not only a superb performance but is a CD with CNSTR (certified natural sound technique recording) Just enter Peter Katin
Fabulous performance of a very difficult work - have tried hard to myself ot better this performance and still have a bit opf work to do - Я обожаю prokofiev' нот s всегда
This is a studio recording, so there is of course no video. Released on Deutsche Gramophon, together with recordings of Ravel's Gaspard de la Nuit and Piano Concerto in G major.
Love this recording though. The concerto matches Argerich's unruliness well.
I'm hearing this whole concerto for the first time ever. I'm so glad it's Argerich. I don't think anyone else could play it this well......still listening.....such incredible sound. Thrilling!
5:02 - 5:40 is SO GOOD!! Beautiful!!

@rkj1963 Judging intellect based on music preference and putting out your list for the world to see, presumably seeking approbation: what IQ?

The best performance there is:
Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra conducted by Daniele Gatti
Yuja Wang, piano
Sergei Prokofjev: Pianoconcert nr.3 op.26
Concertgebouw Amsterdam
