its surface is molten due to its huge mass and gravity. gravity pulls matter back and keeps the atmosphere.
there is just NO WAY our surface is hollow. any bigger asteroid would crack the whole planet! and that had happened even before the dinosaur's extinction.

also moon was a part of earth but due to crash with a big object quite a portion of ancient earths mass got divided but stayed within its grav. well eventually becoming a satellite we know as moon.
if earth was hollow in that time it would be crushed to pieces with collision of that size.
even if it was hollow it isnt now.

@vlad9vt what you are trying to avoid is that moon and earth are of the same origin. helium isotope is present on mercury too, as well as on moon. venus, earth, and mars in some way, are protected by its atmoshperes. moon and airless objects are not. helium and its isotopes are brought from solar wind.
you cant just say "radiation". there are different types of rad. alpha and beta rays can be stopped easily. but only over a meter of lead can protect you from gamma radiation.
