OMGG!!! Tornadoes are one of my BIGGEST fears !! It really scares me watching this but where i am we dont get tornadoes, only little things that swirl the leavs around in our back yard and doesn't even pick them up more than an inch off the ground ! lollllll thats too funny "screams at a wind gust", I bout fell out of my chair over that one, thx for the smiles. yanno, I didn't scream while watching the one form just outside of Pierce City Missouri back n '03(it almost wiped the town off the map) and that was my 1st REAL tornado. It didnt take long to see that we were headed straight toward its path & by the time we got turned around it crossed 1/4 mi. from us.

I would have been screaming too... That tornado was still HUGE when it roped out. Thank God it didn't look like it was hitting structures. That screaming at a wind gust comment was hilarious... Viewed vid again: I think that it is a matter of rcrdng technique. The man screaming is far more prominent in the sound mix than are his colleagues. In other words, he is right on top of the microphone overloading it with sound. You can barley hear what the other people are saying. Optimally they should have a remote microphone centrally located in the vehicle somewhere; as opposed to the microphone mounted on the hand-held camera. These are technical quibbles. It's still a great vid. Love it!

F scale really has nothing to do with the size of the tornado. It's what that tornado has done. The Pampa `95 tornado was only about 80-150m wide and it was an F-4

Yeah, remember, an F-5 is winds of 261-318 MPH, and are rare...less than 1 out of one-hundred are F-5. That said, this could of been the "rare F-5", because F-5 tornadoes do tend to be larger, like this one is. But even if only an F-4, that's still winds of 207-260 MPH, and that's still damn powerful.
