I was living in a small town in South Florida back then (called Boca Raton) and WQAM was THE station ... Robey Young, Rick Shaw, etc. The Clefs played at Boca Teentown ... I remember the bass player was playing a Hofner Club bass which is what I had. They WERE cool!
This was on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks in the summer of 1966 (peaking at No. 80), but it was a much-bigger hit in south Florida (primarily on Miami radio station WQAM), probably because the group was formed in Miami. Actually, the flip side ("First Tell Me Why") was supposed to be the main side, but the flip side ("Stop! Get a Ticket") proved to be bigger.
