  • Also NANDO had a THICK FULL BEARD. The actor, Hawke, just refused to grow it for the film.

  • Canessa wanted to go back but not necessarily because he didnt want to keep going, he just wanted to keep helping wounded friends back at the fuselage, plus he believed the more they kept on walking the harder it would be for them to try and get back. Nando was the one who convinced him to keep walking, but was really unsure of what they would find. That is why this is a story of courage and determination. Neither of them knew, at that point it became a point of DO OR DIE (Canessa's words)

  • sucks for tintin

  • wow they could started walking A long time ago

  • Wow deff an AMAZING and INSPIRING story.

  • @PoncyTank Right on... I love all South American peoples..

  • Nice montage near the end!

  • 1:07 oh shit !!!

  • lol 61 days without shaving and thats all the hair they got on their faces??

i can grow a beard in 3-4 days

  • @stubblerr Its a movie dude. Look at the real footage and see what they look like, they all look like concentration camp survivors.

  • As the saying goes: GET BUSY MOVING TRYING TO LIVE... OR GET BUSY DYING DOING NOTHING.

  • maybee this leads somewhereeashhhhhahhhhhh holy shit

  • "I think this is the top."

    "FFFFFFFUUUUUUU..."

  • did they have any idea where they were going?

  • "maybe this leads somewhere" ... um dont think so mate

  • "HOLD ON!!"

"Yeah, cos I'm not going to do that anyway..."

  • is someone watching right now?..... with me?

  • When Roberto Canessa said: "That's a road". He was right. Years later they found out it was actually a road, but Nando did not believe it was.

  • What i dont like is that Roberto Canessa is a little down played in the movie. Like when he said " im not as strong as you". Totally incorrect. Him and Nando were like partners. Both incredibly strong people. Nando may have had a little more willpower or something but nothing like it is portrayed in the movie. It was actually Nando that was demorialized when he saw 360 mountains at the summit not Roberto. They just accepted there fate together to walk out and they actually thought they would die

  • @Flaitesexy This is a true story, i want you to do the self, and then i will tolerate you aying fake and gay...this isnt =3 man -.-

  • 1:04 maybe this leads somewhere, your on the side of an F'ing cliff, and yes it does lead somewhere......... Down.

  • at 7:14 is the place I yearn and strive to reach every single day. If we die we're going to die walking ;-)

  • they should of killed roberto. who the fuck is he gambling with other peoplrs lives.if i was there ide voff chucked him off a cliff

  • If they keep having these close calls I'm going to have a heart attack!

  • I saw this movie once when I was 10 when it first came out on tv... seeing it again for the first time since... still a great film... So good infact that I haven't even stopped clicking on the following part to rate it. I'm gonna have to go back to rate thumbs up to each part now. Great film... thank you for posting it.

  • and I complain how hard it is in my school.. No more of that.

  • @caspiantage Yeah, it definately makes all your problems seem small!

  • great movie thank you for uploading i'm gonna use this for my school report thanks again!

  • Nando also didnt say this when he got to the top when he spoke with canessa. Nando also gave in and though he was going to die. He said to canessa if we die we going to die walking.

  • Amazing that line they saw was an actual road. In fact, it would have been quicker and easier if they would have went east instead of west. Of course there was no way they could know that but still neat to think about.

  • @tommyboy31885 to determine your east & west location, just look at the sun's direction. sun rises on the east & sunset on the west. easy.. lol

  • @LuvMyLilBabe Umm no... the sun doesn't tell them where they are located, only which direction is east and west. If you were dropped in some random location with no reference point but the sun good luck knowing exactly where you are.

What I meant was had they known their location, they would have most likely gone east into Argentina instead of west to chile. Heading east would have gotten them to civilization quicker and it was all down hill.

  • aiuto

  • If you wanna know what happens and get get part 13, then find out in the documentary: Stranded! The Andes Plane Crash Survivors. this documentary is on you tube.

  • did 1:07 actually happen when they were up in the mountains ?

  • @LuckyLuke1031 - all of it happened! have you not seen the documentary of the people who lived to tell the tale?

  • link is broken arrrggghhhh why yourube why

  • 7:58 ... Canessa looks like Jesus.

  • google flight 571 for more info on the true story.

  • Tin tin is sexy!!!

  • Canessa, my hero !

  • So the story based on some novel? Stephen King?

  • @seppo16 no, its a true story

  • @seppo16 No, it's a true story - based on an actual crash in the Andes mountains

  • What a great movie this is.

  • romans 1:20 - for since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse

  • pretty good movie

    where did u buy it?

  • i didnt recognized ethan hawk...lol the 90s

  • how did they know the eastward way? the mountains are all the same... its like to be in the middle of the ocean!!!!

  • tin tin is awesome

  • I love Nando

  • SHUT UP

  • Nando's will to live was simply amazing!

People have hard time simply trying to get out of bed in the morning, but he found it through the plane crash, unconsciousness, the death of his mother AND sister as well as other friends, borderline starvation, an avalanche, and two climbs through the mountains... WOW!

I'm sure others did too hence their survival through such a terrible ordeal, but the film really showcased Nando's will to live and motivate others to do the same.

  • I agree, he been to so much but he kept fighting to live, and inspired others in the process.

  • @VASpecial036 His will to live even without his family who died...amazing!

  • @VASpecial036 Not to be Debbie Downer but um, this is a film based on a true story. What we're seeing is not exactly what happened.

  • @derocdero

Not exactly, that's true...but very, very close to what the book lays out. Closer than most movies would come.

  • i really think that.... with willpower you can really do ANYTHING.

like other people have said... people die with equipment and all that other junk from climbing mountains like these... they did it with nothing but neccesary supplies.

    it really inspires you.

  • Going back was actually a good idea. It was later found out that in that direction there WAS a road (though not the one believed to be seen) and there was even a hotel less than 5 miles east of the crashsite. Of course, none of the survivors could have known that.

  • @undeadnightorc only 5 miles ouch

  • I know...5 miles...ouch, huh? 5 miles ouch! Really ouch. Right brett? Right?

  • @Nyaree1 ummm right

  • But it was abandoned, and it would have probably taken even longer to get rescued. Based on the best information that they had, soldiering on WAS the best option.

  • wahahaha..ahahaah

  • Kids on youtube I swear.......

  • Get ur facts right arsehole. 29 died!!!

  • why do people call sth america latin america when they speak spanish and portugese not latin?

  • Because those are branches of the latin language.

  • " I'm proud to be a man on a day like this, alive!" that line is an inspiration to me. that whatever shit you're in you should stand up like a man and never give up. I read a book about this story, the part where Canessa thought he saw a road, well it was really a road.

  • This is the part that I like best. This is where Nando give his speech and convince Cannessa that they must continue instead of going back. This is the moment Nando saved them

  • Think about it, professional people who have the best equipment, the best clothing, the best training have died climbing mountains, yet, these people who had nothing did it, they diid as he said, the impossible.

  • @sphinxrising58 Thats because they were doing it to live!

  • @sphinxrising58 I agree! Especially being so weak from near starvation and freezing.

  • yes it's a true story

  • is it this an true story or not ???

  • It's a true story eclipse

  • @theeclipse1

Look up a documentary called stranded, much better and realistic than this hollywoodized movie.

  • @theeclipse1 It's based off of a true story.

  • @theeclipse1 Based on a true story....

  • @theeclipse1 true

  • In a book it says 2 km on the perimiter of the plane was a hotel, closed except for summer, loaded with canned food reserves.

  • not true

  • go and find out

  • go shit

  • @ZakkWyldeCL it was true story it hapened in 1972

  • only 2km?

  • i swear i read it on a published book in 70s library in school. Maybe it was more actually.

  • i cant see the last part too..zz

  • what I don't get is after 60 some days without shaving they should be looking like zz top

  • Like who??

  • zz top

  • fucking pitty that we cant see that last part...

  • Thank you.

  • They attribute too many good moment to god..... but never the crash itself.

  • indeed people seem to forget about the actual crash and fall back to believing in a story book that was written by a guy, then translated from latin to english by henry the VIII's translator, who as it happens wasnt that great at english, for the book to then be changed partially to what henry desired... fact

  • spanish not latin VERY VERY different dude...

  • Good movie. thank you

And when u will upload part 13 ?

  • the thought of eating people is sick but i suppose in a situation like ''alive'' they probably got use to it and carlittos omg shut it up about the pizze if i was there.

  • thanks so much for posting this movie, i think life is at its best when you feel close to god...

  • You'd think after 70 days out there, Nando would have actually grown a BEARD.

  • how anyone can survive at those altitudes is miraculous.

  • you do get accustomed to it eventually but they would've had a very hard time breathing initially

  • its funny how it's been 70 days and they have all neat facial hair. no long beards? come onnn. they're all mostly men.

  • o and white shiny teeth aswell

  • Why the hell did that comment get thumbs down? That's a perfectly legitimate question I've been thinking about most of this film.

  • haha I don't know. I guess posters didn't like my comment? lol. same here by the way. that's what I was thinking... I mean they are all at least in their 20s, they would def. have facial hair growing long, even the men who wouldn't grow as much woulsd have at least some.

  • ...I´m proud to be a man on a day like this, alive, that I live to see it, and see such a place, think it in, I love you man, look, it's magnificent, it´s GOD, and he will carry us over every stone, I swear, I swear you...those words still move me like the first time I saw this movie, fernando, in my opinion recived the impulse from GOD, and he persisted, and did it, same thing happends when anybody pray. ;)

  • so what did GOD have to say about the people who died?????

it's always GOD when something amazing happens, but it's never GOD when shit hits the fan. did GOD cause the plane to crash???

  • In my opinion there is a GOD, exists, I think he has proposites to all lives, I don´t know how GOD works or thinks, the same way I don´t know how long is the universe, is there is life in other worlds, or when this show called existence ends, or not ends, I don´t think GOD crashed the plane, the plane crashed besause of human mistakes, GOD is there, you can look for him, not opposed

  • lol ok, im pretty sure you bible guys tell every1 there isnt a universe and all the bad shit is blamed on the so called devil ofc u know that satan was supposed to came from god? why is that god is supposed to love every1 and forgive but heho if ur bad then your going to burn in the pits of hells for ever and ever lol contradiction at its finest :/

  • The definition of hell is simply "the absence of God". If you push God away your whole life he will finally give you what you want - hell.

  • Don't be ignorant. We live in society that pursues logical and rational thinking. This is not the dark ages where we act on blind faith and kill people that really do try to help our life. Nothing, nothing on this whole Earth points at the existence of a God. So shut the fuck up.

  • Everything does. Notice how as the world moves farther and farther from him and into your "logic", it gets worse and worse.

  • I agree

  • @AllYourBase420 And so who made the things that man did not make? Who made man? Hmmm? Did these things happen by accident? How improbable is that?

  • @dealmaker007 It's one big cosmic coincidence. Everything came out of nothing. That's how it is otherwise, we wouldn't be here. Okay, then, I'll bite, let's say God made man. Who made God then lol? Back to square one.

  • @AllYourBase420 Well sir it boils down to what one chooses to believe. Everything coming out of nothing does not obey the conservation of mass theory so this is where science trips up trying to explain something it cannot. It boils down to what you chose to believe because even science has it's limitiations and cannot explain accurately why things are the way they are.

  • @dealmaker007 Uh no. Its not about choice. Its about accepting the evidence presented in front of you or being an ignorant ass and denying it with no concrete opposition. Conservation of mass/energy says matter can be rearranged from something extremely compact at the beginning (10^12K temp) to something spread out today (~0.1K) hence the big bang theory. Science always has limitations but explains things more thoroughly and honestly then the bible ever has. So please return to the kids table.

  • @AllYourBase420 You know what dude? Just drop it. You atheists are always going around saying how ignorant other people are but you are displaying your ignorance and immaturity here quite clearly by getting pissed off just because someone has a different opinion than you. Which says you are the one who is not open minded. Science can only describe what is, when it comes to how things came to be, there is theory. THEORY. Meaning what people THINK happened. So again WHAT YOU CHOSE TO BELIEVE.

  • @dealmaker007 Ignorant? No. You lying, manipulative, gelatinous worms had your day in the sun. During that time, religion has led to the death of millions upon millions of people with crusades, torture, censoring of knowledge, and abuse of little boys and this is literally the filth you want to keep around because of the slim 1/100000000 chance there might be a safe haven for you. I'm not the one who should grow up, it's you. Stop listening to the adult fairy tales and grow up.

  • @AllYourBase420 "religion has led to the death of millions upon millions of people with crusades, torture, censoring of knowledge" r u kidding me or what its funny how atheist have only that to say , u always use crusades , this happened 800 years ago. where people where very ignorant , majority died of diseases, and many didnt see their 30's .and you us say crusades hahah, in the modern age how many religious wars did u have ..... was wwi , ww2, korean vietnam , iraq war religious wars ??????

  • @albokk First of all, nice grammar dipshit, oh wait, that's right, religion isn't big on intelligence. Secondly, are you serious? The most recent religious war was Afghanistan and anything having to do with Israel. The middle east is unstable as shit and America has to jump into a war every 10 years. Guess where the most religious regions in the world are - America... and the Middle East. Now guess where the highest standard of living is - Sweden, Norway, and Japan. They are 80%+ atheist.

  • @AllYourBase420 haha arent you fucking stupid or what , the afghanistan war is a religious war !!! lol did usa soldiers go kill in the name of jesus , NO. and israel war isnt about religion jews have lived there for 2000 years besides muslims , everything started in1948 when israel was formed . do you think that these countries that have a large atheist pop have a high standard of living cuz they are atheist lol , what does atheism have to with it , ussr was majority atheist and they were poor

  • @albokk Again, nice grammar. What are you, 15? That would explain why you still believe in fairy tales. The War in Afghanistan is a cultural and religious war. What do you think Jihad means in the first place and why the WTC were destroyed? Because we do things differently and other people don't like it. Oh you think the US would have been attacked if they were majority Muslim? No. Israeli wars were originally fought over land, now fueled by Muslims hate for the Jews.

  • @albokk Furthermore, USSR was majority atheist and managed to pump out some of the most advance technology in the world including its air and space programs. It had the absolute best education of its time and managed to provide food for a large population thereby having a relatively high standard of living. Money isn't the most important thing in the world, isn't that what Jesus thought you? Oh wait, that's right, you're a hypocrite and only care about bible points applied in your favor.

  • @AllYourBase420 you have no fucking idea of history do you , just shut the fuck up , if ussr had good econmy why the fuck did it fall , by late 70 's people were starving , go open a history book then talk to me you fucking idiot

  • @albokk Oh k, Im going to go open an American textbook and read from an American point of view. Sounds like Ill get top notch information bias free. You dumbass, look at what the Soviets have accomplished - more olympic medals on avg then any other nation, first in space, best air force, free quality education, industrialized faster then any other country, yeah sounds like atheism failed there. The only reason why it collapsed was because it got to corrupt, kinda like where we are going today.

  • @AllYourBase420 blah blah ....... same shit over and over again . "The only reason why it collapsed was because it got to corrupt," really says who , you ????? faggot i lived in commie country and i know how shit really happened u have no idea wtf u r talking , i say it again open a book or find some "non-bias" info online then talk to me, your ignorance is appalling ...

  • @albokk Same shit over again? What a coincidence, kinda like christianity. You lived in a commie country? No way, where, bulgaria or in another shitty place where they resisted communism and wondered why life was so bad. I lived in the USSR. So did my parents. Guess what? Life was just fine there. I'm sorry your country dropped the ball or maybe the skywizard wasn't listening but things worked out well. So I appreciated if you could stop spewing shit out of your mouth... like the bible.

  • @AllYourBase420 life was fine!!!! probably your parents were in the communist party , your father was a spy for kgb and you lived with privileges. majority of russians lived in very poor conditions they had to waske up 5 in the morning to wait for their rations of food , life was fine.... u got no idea wtf u r saying , christians have no morals????????? why atheist do ???? where do you get the morals from charles darwin ... get the fuck out of here stupid faggot

  • @albokk lol you are a terrible troll - "christians have so many morals and are very nice. i know, i'm a christian you stupid faggot." You got me on that one bud. You don't think Americans wake up at 5 in the morning to go shopping on black friday? They do. Unlike the USSR, price simply increases here until people can't buy what they want but you certainly don't hear about that in the news, do you? All we hear is dumbasses crying about Evolution, "baaaah its not in the bible, it never happened."

  • @albokk Your gimmick's weak dude, just stop. Or are you going to tell me about the banana?

  • @albokk Dude, I have to say, this is one of the worst looking conversations for a Christian. Not really setting the example here man.

Remember, you have to think before you speak, or it ain't going to come out right, and it will end up looking like this.

Not saying I disagree with you, but man, you could have picked a better way to say it.

  • @albokk I also love how nice you to others oh wait, christians have no morals or decency.

  • @albokk I also love it how you tell me to go open a history book. You should do that yourself and find out about the stories that preceded Jesus. You'll find that they where mostly the same in theme, context, plot, and conclusion lmao.

  • @AllYourBase420 atheist governments in 70 years alone have killed more than 150 million more than ANY religion ever did . atheism failed in all these countries , in russia alone in 1986 believe , 11% believed in god others were atheist . now just for 20 years majority believes in god once again .

  • @dealmaker007 Also, just so you know, a scientific theory is as good as fact. It's a well known observation, backed up by supporting arguments, and unable to be proven wrong. It's not a matter of opinion, it's a matter of fact. It's just like gravity, you can call it an opinion all you like, the bottom line is, walk off that cliff, and you'll never be heard from all.

  • You can boil snow for water, or just melt it. its fine.

  • Dont eat the snow, but you can melt it to water.

  • It's true,in fact they had to take the minerals from the bones

  • @karldiesen when ou will be in such situation, you will not think what is good or not

  • reberto looks like messi lol

  • from 6:05 to 8:30 that segment in this movie tell what I think is the key vision hope and faith for the future and love for each other and those counting on them to suceed...persistance, never giving up...nando to kinessa...taking each next step to sucess or die trying for sucess and they suceed and part 13 shows how important this segment in part 12 was when nando didn't give up and persuaded kinessa not to give up either...and together they reached help and brought help back saving many lives
