  • I like that song anywhere and any time. These lads did well, and I hope the sentiment is - or will become - heartfelt. At the end, looking at their faces, I could see pride in their accomplishment. For me, a least, they're all winners because they sung well.

  • @Soularddave for the most part we were just bored and wanted to go home. Trufax

  • up yours howard

  • Sorry, I know they are trying their best, however between the recording and their enunciation, it's just...not good.

  • haha awesome i didnt know bout this haha im currently attending the school

  • Dear Mr Grumpy Bugger,

you are a really grumpy bugger and too stubborn.

    Please referance my last comment.

    Yours Sincerely

    Mr. Deskpot.

  • Dear Mr Grumpy Bugger,

    OK I'll play.

I did not in anyway argue the point about where the words or tune came from. I simply read the context of the song.

It seems if I am not mistaken that the words are not defined for absolute meaning for the individual. Thus they are open to definition by the individual singing in.

    All the best

    Mr. Deskpot,

    Grumpy bugger in Practise.

  • Dear Mr Grumpy Bugger,

this a song from an individual to his or her nation. It does not mention the United Kingdom of the British Isles or Northern Ireland.

    Yours Faithfully,

    Master Grumpy Bugger,

    PS all the best.

  • Yes it does, do you not know the song?

do you not know the second verse that people dont sing because its a little violent?

I heard my country calling, away across the sea,

Across the waste of waters she calls and calls to me.

Her sword is girded at her side, her helmet on her head,

And round her feet are lying the dying and the dead.

I hear the noise of battle, the thunder of her guns,

I haste to thee my mother, a son among thy sons.

that is the second verse, people only sing verse 1 and 3

  • Nothing like the nasal voices of adolescent boys...a good try but flat as hell. Does sound like an Aussie accent. Lots of Asian boys in the chorus.

  • they are shouting they cant sing

  • ahhhh it brings me back to yr 7....

  • i see tom!!!!

  • Have heard nothing like it. Must be that Aussie accent.

Colossal weight of sound. Initially did not like it but it has won my approval. Award *****

  • Please please tell us what school this is!? This is great - I am from Sydney and have played this organ!

  • great venue, great singers, great song.

but there's no height and space at all. and too many kids that are way to young for more matured operatic voice that would truly make this song sound awesome

  • But until...

    They give us Bundy

    It's Australia here we come

  • I love your the accent.

  • A bit flat

  • LOL James West 0:59

Matthew Bezzina (2nd from top right) 1:28

    Craptastic

  • this in not perfect but surprisingly I thnik it's the way it should be sung. It's a patriotic song, and patriotics are sung by the people. And the people don't sing perfect. So this is excellent in that way. Thumbs up.
