two people have four hands. only two people are necessary in this illusion. the hand that holds the curtain bar against the box is a false hand that works like a clamp. the woman places the clamp when the bar is against the box, and the man removes it when the bar is taken away. Thats why there is always a thick border around the hand hole when this trick is performed, it obscures the false "fingers". you can see the mans body weight move the box when he jumps in from below at 0:39 to 0:40.

THAT hand belongs to a third person..hidden inside the stand...it disapears downwards at exactly 0:47 as the curtain covers it..and he pushes his fanning hand and fingers forward through the hole...its very very fast.

It is easy to work out the switch behind the curtain.The box trap door is in the left side bottom of the box. The upright stand itself is a helpful ladder covered in black stretchy material that assists him back into the box....but THAT HAND...its clearly an animated remote hand to begin with and definately not hers...a common accessory used in magic...however the switch back to his hand is impossible to spot unless the animated hand is sewn to the cover and pulls off at the final reveal.

you see someone else's hand being put through the cover, so while Grasso is getting the cover the girl is getting ready to switch with him look at :039 you see that Grasso lets go and is switched with her hands. So while she's putting the cover away he's getting in the box, so while she takes the cover off of the box there is split second where you don't see the hand period. so thats when he switches with the other guy. also at :055 you can see the head of a bald guy getting out of the box.

there's a third person in the thick black base who's hand is in the circle the whole time except when they lift the cover, grasso quickly puts his hand in.
