I own (and love) both a Mustang GT and a Volvo 850 T5R. The Volvo doesn't mess around and will destroy your face. The Mustang, however fun, will lose every single time stock for stock. Auto VS standard, Auto vs auto... Doesn't matter.

Funny I raced a 98 GT with a pi head swap and full bolt ons...it was literally the exact same outcome. I of course was stock with my 98 S70 T5m (with the exception of the almighty K&N air filter ;) )

Mustangs have immense torque, hence why they will always jump you out of the hole. My 03 GT used to tear people out of the hole (vette's, 04 CTS-v, etc) but they would always catch me and pass me by 75-80mph. We would do multiple runs, always the same outcome.

i test drove a 04 and 06 v70r my 01 t5 front wheel drive felt faster i have the 2.3 with high pressure turbo 11.7 psi stock boost my boost gauge reads 13psi and spikes at 15. I raced some kid in a supercharged cobalt from a stop then from a 20mph roll took him both times he was really pissed off, when i slowed and looked over he was punching his dash. turbo cobalts on the other hand i would have lost.

I was wondering why Ford put a t5 in the Focus, but not in the New 2011 Stang.

The t5 is a very strong, economical engine.

Also remember that T5s are not standstill racing cars. They do much better when you go from 20-Top or from 30-top. My stock T5 can keep up with a stock STI on the highway. AWD cars lose a lot of power from engine to the wheels. The 300 Hp turns into around 245 when it reaches the wheels.

@USGiorgi 220 whp on the 286hp evo....my 850 T5 has a magnaflow exhaust and a KN filter so so probably around 240hp and from 30-100 it revs up pretty quickly those first two gears on the AT tranny are the best though. And your right, i was able to keep up with a stock STI on the highway and the dude was like WTF?

Yeah, but with the Manual boost controller, it spools up much quicker, as opposed to the ECU just throwing the 10.5 PSI on at higher RPMs

Mine is stage 2 SPEEDTUNING and high boost comes on very fast.17 to be exact.

Not true man.I have had 2 850 T5's and they come with 9.7 psi to be exact.Look on IPD website or google it.

Very nice, i own a 98 v70 t5 and i smoke mustangs like that everyday and lots of other ignorants that think my mom´s looking v70 wont keep up, 0-60 7,2 secs...in second gear, in third gear the turbo makes the car fly like a rocket, im looking forward to chip it up to 300hp. T5-Lover

Very nice, I have an s60 t5 and I burn mustangs like that all day... great to beat a 5.0 v8 with an turboed engine with less than half the displacement, they never see it coming
