The mistake of the show came from the STARZ network. This show could have been easily successful. However STARZ was stupid to put this show on the same season Game of Thrones was on. They should have waited for Game of Thrones season to ene before they brought Camelot on. This show was not given a fair chance to be successful.

It came out the same time other premium period pieces were out, Game of Thrones and The Borgias, and someone had to be the odd man out. So sad, because it was such a wonderful show. There were too many production problems and not good enough ratings so they decided not to renew it despite hoping for several seasons originally. Sure have you never seen a series cancelled before?? That's always what happens. The biggest clue is when they held out for so long, refusing to renew it straightaway like all the other shows, i knew it wouldn't make it. Absolutely raging.

After watching the 1st season of this interesting and awesome remake of the Autherian Legend I am now looking forward to and I hope I am right in thinking that there will be a Season 2 as the network have not said any thing in regards to this yet, I do have to admit that there is a strong Lord Of The Rings Influence going on in the opening credits soundtrack, it sends chills down the spine.
The opening is very, very pretty, but the show is way, way over the top, and not in a good way. Why must both Merlin and Morgan insist on doing that super-intense theatre-stage smoky-voice all the time? Why is everything that Arthur does just completely stupid? Why couldn't Leontes let that damn arrow hit its mark...? (I just started to like him.)
I guess I'm stuck with this show. What can I say, I'm a sucker for fantasy. Anyone know anything serious about season 2?

@c0y0tx this story is based on centuries of myths an legends written in countless of books, so i don't see the point that you make. game of thrones is based of a book but a script is totally different then a book but this serie can use hundreds of scripts as inspiration an not only that, game of thrones is limited to the book while Camelot can almost do what it wants since there are so many versions of these legends. I like this show but they could have done better in this rich mythology

Great opening music with very interesting chord progressions. Show is excellent. Not in a hurry to progress the story since has at least 1 more series to go. Possibly more.
Quality music, fits perfectly for the era and the ambient of the serial. I found the show is really underrated. Ok it's not full of action sequences and CGI, the storyline and the acting (Eva Gree, J. Fiennes) what grabbed me to watch the episodes.

@Sanity1011 haha wow and yaaa, i watch every other king arthur show, and hes a big part in the legend, im jus hoping he shows up eventually..!!! like midway of season 2?! and i really hope merlin comes back...he honestly makes camelot..the best merlin i have ever seen, and hes by far a great actor as well..!

there is no lancelot,the producers are going to take another path in the history of Arthur.

did you saw the excalibur episode,thats a good example...there is no blacksmith or daughter in the books about king arthur...the exaclibur is given by the lady of the lake,theres no conection with any blacksmith and i think merlin wasnt the one who found the sword,it was King Arthur

@polatucos15 hm i see, i honestly looked at camelot, and assumed that merlin wasn't all about magic, he was more or less about using pyschology and such, and words, i'm not so keen on the king arthur story, i tried to find some online involving stories without lancelot, but can't seem to find any.

@KjellKenpachi i know!! i LOVE watching this show, but everytime Merlin is in a scene, i pay extra attention. His character is so cool! It's refreshing to see him as a darker character.

@cumpys it showed promise, to me a show doesn't need to show soft core porn to attract audience. the problem with the show is that by the 4th episode they didn't know where the show was heading. the script writers failed epically.

@CannabisDelux Game of thrones had the advantage of a strong fundation of a book itself. in this one the script Writters are doing miracles to bring a more than a decent show in contrast to all the poor script writting ones that populate current tv.

@c0y0tx this story is based on centuries of myths an legends written in countless of books, so i don't see the point that you make. game of thrones is based of a book but a script is totally different then a book but this serie can use hundreds of scripts as inspiration an not only that, game of thrones is limited to the book while Camelot can almost do what it wants since there are so many versions of these legends. I like this show but they could have done better in this rich mythology

Great opening music with very interesting chord progressions. Show is excellent. Not in a hurry to progress the story since has at least 1 more series to go. Possibly more.

Quality music, fits perfectly for the era and the ambient of the serial. I found the show is really underrated. Ok it's not full of action sequences and CGI, the storyline and the acting (Eva Gree, J. Fiennes) what grabbed me to watch the episodes.
