  • Thank you for sharing this, but are you born again?

Thx Boss for your Musik

  • I think this is the best recording out there of this song.

  • I am russian but i have shiver down my spine

  • Bruce Springsteen, is pure sex

  • I got the goosebumps through this whole song.Freaking A this man knows how to rock

  • How can this not give you goosebumps...

  • and this song should not be reserved for our soil because there are still many Vietnamese who thank us and 99% of people who say they know this song only know the lyrics born in the usa and people question when he says to go kill the yellow man

  • This song is not patriotic nor is it unpatriotic this song came up in a very advanced american history class and this is probably the time I became a huge bruce springsteen fan because of the lyrics he writes this song was written for the troops who came back from vietnam and were turned down in every aspect of life when needed help and the american people frowned upon them and treated them terrible and the veteran affairs office did nothing to help them aka our politicians RIP Ronald cummings

  • Awesome !

  • Its absolutely patriotic/ but should be reserved for our soil. All points heard- all points respected- but when we decide to start acting like a family vs airing our differences to the world- we may have a chance at saving this great country- i lost a dear cousin in Afghan....all things since 9-11... Well Bruce - if you read uztune - i love you man- BUt THIS song deserves our soil only- OUR soil only- we all hear it WE MOST appreciate it R or L- but no one else gives an F about our blood shed o

  • @neocant1 your ignorance is bliss on what this song is about and vietnamese thank us to this day and this is a song that refers to how our soldiers, marines, sailors, and airmen were treated by the people of america for there duty and how the veteran affairs did nothing to help them learn the lyrics instead of just born in the usa.

  • he must be the most epic grandpa ever besides Chuck Norris.

  • @Skullpile He is not a Grandpa yet.

  • @rotag19 his children are barley in there teens

  • Aquesta cançó té que ser un himne Nacional!

¡Esta canción tiene que ser un himno Nacional!

This song has to be a national anthem!

Cette chanson doit être un hymne national!

  • Anyone remember the Constitution? We The People?

This song is very patriotic, because it embellishes our right to topple tyranny.

  • @lookinfotrouble Not patriotic at all

  • in every concert when this song is played, after the big drum solo part, when they start to play again, everybody starts to scream again

  • This is our closer song in this year's marching band, Gives me goosebumps everytime I listen to it.

  • @robotdude14 read the lyrics..its not what you think it is..easily one of the most misunderstood songs of all time..its anything BUT patriotic..

  • He's so beautiful <3

  • GENIAL

  • I noticed that the Boss changed lyrics of "10 years" to "30 years." It proves that he is always aware of and never forgets Veterans of Vietnam war. That's amazing and he has a real sympathy to people suffering.

  • honestly it's a critical song.. to those who think it's meant to be patriotic or something like that.

  • @DasFaultierSDS it's both actually.

  • @redskins1111

    Your government is anti-American.

  • This IS a nationalist song. Just happens the bad guy in this one is the government.

  • I pray I have mastered my art as well as Bruce has mastered his by the time I'm his age. BOSS...

  • NONE BETTER THAN MY MAN BRUCE ROCK ON BRUCE.

  • This is an anti-war song. Politicians and other idiots have hijacked the song to insert their own meaning into it, but Bruce wrote it as an anti-war song.

  • jt likes penis

  • Poor idiots that believe that this is a nationalist song xD

  • Proud to be born in the usa!!

  • Singing Born in The USA. lol in Spain.

  • @AmericanPride1234 You're an idiot.

  • My favorite version of this song is when he sings it in the 2001 Live New York concert, it's amazing. He does the whole song much more slower and more emotionally, really brings out the lyrics much better. Check it out guys if you can, it's amazing.

  • @Templol12 I always liked the rock version better. Max Weinberg kicks ass on the drums.

  • I wasn't born there but it has been in my top 10 since I was about 10. The first line could be adopted by anyone who lives in the countryside all around the so called civilised world. GREAT SONG.

  • @toobuku76

It's not just anti-american, it's critisism at the way people were treated during that particular war (and well, all wars), they get treated like shit when they're sent to war, and treated like shit when they return from war (like vets fighting the vietcong).

  • how is the name the next song coming after that ???

  • @Bruce4everBoss

He was speaking catalan. It's a very thing us...

Well, he says: I wrote that song about the vietnam war, tonight we play it as a pray for the peace.

  • there isn't much music out there that makes me cry, but there are some of Springsteen's songs that make me cry every time I listen to them. The words, the way he sings them, the way he plays- it's so clear how much he feels for people in pain

  • El habla primero en catalán y dice k el esdribio esta canción por la guerra de Vietnam I think is a idolo this song

  • Fancythathat: If you mean that they're not party records, that's kind of true. But man, when you're going through tough times, Springsteen can save your life. And the live shows are the best of anything I have ever seen. But if you're just hating, well have a nice day anyway. Listen to what you love.

  • 5:20-5:40 epic drum solo. Rock on!!

  • Regarding to Dynamics of Rock'n roll, Bruce exceeds Bob Dylan.

  • great version of this song. usa always supports democracy around the world as long as they know it will go their way, but not otherwise (case in point, vietnam).

  • 10 para esta musica isto e o que mais acontece a estrangeiros nos eua

  • 11 people are vietnamese!

  • @shadylanem Or al qaida!!

  • @shadylanem absolute idiot. This is a song AGAINST the war in Vietnam and it's social and domestic consequences.

  • @shadylanem I am vietnamese and i love this song !

  • @PierreNgo its a prayer for peace this song, love u man !

  • who knew that four words "Born in the usa" would have such an impact! love this song!

  • 11 ppl weren't born in the USA

  • I'm more into rap and all that, but this is really good. Great subject and great singer

  • @nonofyall Good to hear! That's a mature attitude! You know what's good is good, it doesn't matter what "category" it falls into! Myself I preferred black music & rap when it was something different. I liked the Gap Band & rap like the early stuff obviously Run DMC was huge when I was a kid! I'm a big, mid-western, white biker & I have pretty eclectic music tastes as well! Appreciating different things instead of pigeon holing yourself is a sign of intelligence, so rock on!!! Take care

  • whats the song next to Born in the USA?

  • A Bruce Srpingsteen T-shirt $20. A beer and a hot dog $12. Performing Born In The USA in a other counrty & the entire crowed sings along? Priceless.

  • Bruce sings about the love of his country... but he doesn't like the way that his country supposedly disregards those that fight fir it. His countrymen weren't volunteers; they had no choice and disregarded when they came home. This was not America's finest hour. To all those right wingers out there: Bruce loves America!

  • BOOOOOORN IN THE AUSTRIÄÄÄ!!!

  • How On Earth was this not performed on the SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW!!!!!?

  • Bruce can SING, and play many many instruments. He is gifted way beyond the average musician. Saw him in concert last November, and this man can sing, dance and perform longer than ANY Ive seen yet. He performed 3 hours straight...no breaks. He loves what he does, and it shows in his performance.

  • uufffff brutal historia...me da escalofrios

  • This is such a patriotic song!

  • @bigcheecksTalon No it's not.

  • GOD BLESS THE USA!!!!!!

  • What is Silvio Dante doing on stage? Who's managing the Bing instead of him??

  • @TobiasAKL ..and what happened to his hair? Well I guess Bruce is the bigger Boss...Tony will just have to wait. :-)

  • This song gets better everytime I listen to it :D

  • He can't sing, he is good at playing guitar, lyrics.... but singing is really bad.

  • @bardostravsky I think he's actually one of the best vocalists, and he certainly was in his prime when he wasn't 52 (like he is here). He's not missing notes or anything here, and while I don't understand the certain twang/gravel thing he put into his singing at this time, he CAN sing. He does. But, you should also check out some other videos. Start with the ones from the 80s or 70s if you want. Even today though, even live, he still puts out.

  • @bardostravsky WHAT A DICKHEAD GET BACK TO SUCKING YA MOTHERS NIPPLES

  • @bardostravsky

That is of course an opinion. In my view, Bruce Springsteen is everything a singer should strive for.

  • People who argue that this is unpatriotic have got it wrong. American patriotism is its own breed - it's not about being in lockstep with the government, but admitting to the country's imperfections, blemishes and failures, and being proud of America despite it - even if that means disagreeing with the ruling party or politician. So when Springsteen sings out against the Vietnam War he's not being unpatriotic, he's confronting America's shortcomings and being proud regardless That's American.

  • @MrNever8

Please. Patriotism isn't an organic thing. It's what you owe to shrewd moneyers and war-mongerers. It's nationalism painted a different color is all, and it takes a simpleton to walk around with something as insipid as PATRIOTISM tattooed to his forehead. That's what this song is about. It's SATIRE. The Boss has said it himself. Now, you go ahead and fling your jingoist crap at me, but it doesn't change it for what it really is. "Patriotism is a virtue of the vicious" -- Oscar Wilde

  • @billbenblue I don't know what dystopia you believe in where all pride in one's country is reduced to something owed "to shrewd moneyers and war-mongerers". Patriotism transcends politics because the government and country are not synonymous. There is something completely apolitical about the American spirit that resonates with me in the form of patriotism. And if you like Wilde so much (I don't), how about this: "Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing"

  • @MrNever8

" I don't know what dystopia you believe in"

That's the difference between you and me, buddy. I don't endorse or subscribe to any "beLIEfs". If you want to believe in "patriotism", that's fine, I'm not trying to change your mind. Just accept it for what it is. Springsteen knew it for what it was, and that's why he wrote this song. That's also why he was offended when the Reagan administration completely misconstrued and distorted it (as you did) under the guise of "patriotism."

  • Pure passion

  • <3 <3 <3

  • this might just be one of the greatest rock concerts that ever happened "you'll be on television with us!" ahahahahah

  • A song for those who lost and who died in Vietnam....born in the USA is an ironic, sarcastic response to the FAILURE!

  • RESPECT!

  • celtic shirt 1:21 :-D

  • wesselklooster, please stfu, k thanks.

  • the man is a better ambassador than then Obama

  • He is a total patriot. He constantly fights for what he believes is right. That's patriotism. Any dirtbag can wave a flag on July 1st. Means nothing. But he's got one of the best drummers backing him, after all !

  • @hmrto you mean July 4th?

  • Wow, Max Weinberg owned this song.

  • YES IT'S THE BOSS !!

  • I've just been in Spain (Barcelona) and i walked pass that stadium and i was thinking OMG Bruce has been right here OMG......By the way, that start when he says gracias and thanks everybody for coming to the show, That is not on the DVD is it? Ican't remember seein it!!

  • Yikes when I started to view this I was going to complain about Bruce not trying to speak Spanish. Turns out he did it very well.

  • @juliekstroup catalan. not spanish lol. if he was trying to speak spanish he did not come very close ;)

  • @juliekstroup rofl he is speaking Catalan, not spanish. And the guy excels in it.

  • Talk about a true legend of not just rock n roll... but music. period.

I get the chills when I hear this song. The only song that makes my spine shiver more is The Rising.

  • He's great.

  • This song title is much misunderstood, it is not a celebration of the US involvment in the Vietnam war rather it is a recogntion of the sadness and difficulties Caused both home and abroad. It is not so much a celebration of what it means to be born in the USA but rather how sad it is when you do not receive all the postive elements of being a US citizen

  • @GLawrie63 finally, someone hoo actually payed attention 2 more than the chorus of this song.

  • This was hardly the stuff of "Morning in America." Springsteen rebuffed requests from the Reagan campaign to use "Born in the USA" as its official theme song, and responded to Reagan's New Jersey speech with a special dedication at his next concert: "The president mentioned my name the other day," Springsteen told the crowd, "and I kinda got to wondering what his favorite album must have been... I don't think he's been listening to this one.

  • @nanpaempire And then he played Johnny 99 from the Nebraska album

  • @GLawrie63 I was just explaining to an acquaintance the very same thing the other night, it seems many people here this powerful chorus and are perhaps so captured by it that their brain switches off in anticipation of its return, I suppose it must knock 'em for six so much they are in no fit state to absorb the verses :-)

  • @GLawrie63 Thank you for clarifying that for people who dont know the true meaning of this song!

  • wow

  • how come lots of people call americans stupid? they shouldn't judge all americans by how some act

  • The Boss..he's definitely "earned" his title.

  • Max Weinberg, ladies and gentlemen of Barcelona! What a drummer...

  • you see, even euorpeans can like America for roughly 5 minutes!

  • Great video, I'm spreading my music with animation greetings from Argentina

  • the BOSS!

  • Springsteen is a great patriot!!

  • youtube text feat rulez

  • Back in the 80´s, Springsteen had a gig in Coblenz/Germany. One day later, the local newspaper wrote:

Those, who´ve been there now know why they call Springsteen "The Boss" and Grönemeyer just Grönemeyer (Herbert Grönemeyer is a quite popular german musician)

To me, Springsteen is the honest musician in the world. No scandals, no bullshitting, just great, great music!

  • @Lusth0g grönemayer is an idiot not good music...

  • @stuistuistui Grönemeyer is more than an Idiot, he´s a fine example how to make a lot of money with pure Bullshit!

"Und der Meeeeeensch ist Mensch..." Blablablaa

  • @Lusth0g Thats not music, That is Horseshit.

  • @fancythathat What? Grönemeyer? Grönemeyer is pure shit!

  • @Lusth0g So shit I have not heard of it at all

  • @fancythathat Never mind dude, I guess he´s only known to germans. He´s got a horrible voice and some crazy ass lyrics (and not the cool crazy ass ones) to me he´s just a prick. I mean, there are some really good german musicians, but none of them is listed in the charts like Grönemeyer...

  • WTF is wrong with everyone calling him a "draft dodger"? He was in a head on collision with a Cadillac on his motorcycle when he was, I think 17...? If that's not a legit reason, what is? He failed his physical. He didn't live in a hole until the war was over. Get over it.

  • lol...the drummer is Max Weinberg from the E Street band. He has been with the band for 35 years...much longer than he was with Conan....and yes the studio version of this song shows that he is one of the best, if not the best, drummers of all time.

  • One of the best videos on youtube by one of the greatest musicians!...my absolutely fav clip!
