Not sure why this song and a few others get to me so much. It's as if his time was NOT up, it's just not fair. I know I sound like a little teenager. Im saving this one…Thanks for the post..

God This Is FANTASTIC!!!! Grew up in Australia where Johnny O'Keefe had the 1962 number one hit with it, and only in recent years realised this was the original! This was released in Oz as the B Side to Hearts, which charted in Sydney at #28, though it's now clear to me why this didn't get airplay, O'Keefe had the floor in Oz back then! Both versions are great!
This song was also recorded AND co-written by Al Kasha, also on Brunswick. Al wrote 7 songs for Jackie and went on to a very successful career as a composer and producer. 2 of his songs were Academy Award Winners.
I've had this 45 for nearly 50 years on the Coral label, backed with Jack (not Jackie) Wilson & Linda Hopkins, singing "I Found Love". It was also on the Brunswick label he used for most of his other recordings, backed with "Hearts".
It was played for me on a UK radio show "Sounds Of The Sixties" from a record found by the producer in a New York second hand record store in late 2010.
Four days later it was posted here before I received my CD of the song.
@MarcieLuvzMusic first, thank you for ALL your posts...I can't help notice after spending much time on my beloved Jackie, that you post MANY gems, and do so lovingly, and, provide interesting info, such as the names shouted out at the end..how and where do you get this? are you personally connected with JW? Thank you for all your hard work, I am just getting started with You Tube and do not really know how it works...I want to know more about JW..his life..thank you Marcie?
One of my favorites. He would use this song often to close his concert show. A real Show Stopping song.

Became a hit for Aussie rock pioneer Johnny O'Keefe in its own right. Great.

This is great! I would love to have seen him dance to this one. It's got that little Gospel touch.

Jackie at his best.... many don't know this Gem, thanks for posting. Lucky I found it
here... made me check out my inventory, I do have more than a few copies of this.
Just a bit of information... when Jackie sings out the names of those Loving people,
at the end of the song.... those are his children's names, Joyce is his sister and
a friend of mine... just wanted to pass that on to the fans. This song sounds so
exciting, and love all those background singers, a ********** star post~M*
