@carbonfootprintmyass the show used the 74-76 model years. It was so popular, Ford actually released a "Starsky & Hutch" edition of the torino in 75 or 76. 1 of the employees at my elementary school had one, and I always looked forward as a kid, to seeing it, in the parkinglot. That was the 1st "Star Car", I ever seen.
Sucks to be the guy draggin the batboat hahaha. The rest of them are driving badass muscle cars and he's pulling this big heavy boat and trailer on foot
re doors opening on the GL. ALL cars in the series actually had opening doors... and unless it was on screen, the doors WERE used. as for replicas, the owners do not have Warner Brothers money, and cannot afford to repaint or fix scratches every other week... so, doors are used. plus the owner of this car is too short to get in through the window.
We never claimed this was ALL the TV & Movie Cars... it was a show that had a nice mix of cars though... We have had the Knight RIder Car there some years, the Ghostbuster car, the Monkeemobile, cars from the Mad Max movies, Herbie The Love Bug, etc... this was just what we had there 1 year.
I like the forklifter. Could be from the german movie "Staplerfahrer Klaus - Der erste Arbeitstag", which is a very funny splattermovie about security-rules for a forklift driver. You can find it here on youtube. ;-)
The General Lee at the Star Car museum in TN is one of the surviving original Generals from the show (just wish they hadn't put a Barris emblem on the fender). So if you want your picture made sitting behind the wheel of the car that Bo Duke drove - and what grown kid doesn't? - then the Star Car museum in TN is the place to go! They're really cool about the cars there too - they're not "show" cars and they let you touch, rub and generally ooh and ahhh to your heart's content.
I saw one of the original General Lee's in a place called Pioneer Auto Museum in Murdo South Dakota, and the doors weren't actually welded, they used finger nail polish instead : )
in my city we have a very real replica of the blue's bro's car with the massive woofer on the roof decals costumes and chops the works..its rad to see..
yea the F&F Torino is a 72 "little bumper in front, little bumper in real" the one in this video is a 73' "impact bumper in front, little in rear" starskey & Hutch had a 74-76 "big bumper in front and big bumper in rear,
This event did NOT have every tv and movie car on earth at it... the video is just from a photoshoot of the cars that WERE brought. OTHER years have featured other cars, like a monkeemobile, Herbie, etc.
te series used 74-76 Torinos. After that they only offered the Torino ELite, which was totally wrong. The Torino here was the wrong year, but a very nicely built car, owned by a VOLUNTEER.
yes, it is a replica that a friend of mine built. I know the star car museum in Gatlinburg, tn had 1 in the past, no clue if real or replica on that one.
I know of at least 4 or 5 Sheriff Little Replicas, not sure which one you seen, since 1 that I know.. was recently sold, but at least 2 or 3 are "down south", somewhere. The guy that organized THIS gathering, now has one he built, also. I debated building 1 with the car I am building now.... but goin with something more recognizable... CHP or LAPD replica. I have a Lee & a Hazzard PD car and building a Adam 12, and "another" Police car tbd.
@tvandmoviecars I hear ya, I too am an owner of a police car, BUT mines really from service, not a movie car, BUT My friend Bill has a Roscoe's car from DoH, and shows it quite often at events and police car shows on east coast, thats where we met, and became friends.
Monkeemobile was there in 2008, along with Mickey Dolenz.. The Munsters Coach is out in LA, I think.. and Barettas car is probaby crushed and long gone.
no, they are not. This was a event in Novi, Michigan, just outside of Detroit, Mi.,and the cars are all owned by people in Michigan western Ontario, Canada.
My 1st car was a white 74 Mustang II coupe (Like Kelly Garret had...sorta.) and my 4th Mustang was a 78 Mustang II Gia (with the 1/2 vynil top) almost exactly like Kelly had, except it was blue.... still need a cobra like Jill/Chris Monroe had.
Yeah, that looks weird! *lol* Just add the "CAR", "Christine" the hot-rod from "The Munsters" "Colt Seaver's Truck" & "The Bluesmobile" and they could have had an auto party for the ages.
exactly... I scratched the heck out of my fender on my Lee, just by leaning against it...and you are taking a big chance, every time you jump through the window.... I have only gone through mine 4 or 5 times... and 3 were for videos. 1 other time was due to a idiot parking too close, for me to open my door to get back in.
I get to drive a General Lee whenever I want, since i now own 1. Reguarding the list of cars missing.... I never said this was a COMPLETE meeting of star cars. Ths was just a Comicon, and a nice collection of "Star Cars" all in 1 place. I am hoping to do a ocal "star Car" show in connection with another local show.. but only in the early stages, so far, as far as planning goes.
Yes, that is the wrong torino. The '71-'73 torinos had more of a pointed rear and the tail lights were recessed into the bumper. The '74-'76 models had the tail lights out -side and above the rear bumper, and had a square rear end. I've seen this kind of car in a Bare-naked Ladies music vid.
posts with foul language will be removed as soon as I see them, positive or negative ones. Please remember that when posting comments... is it something you would want your child to see? thank you.
not EVERY star car was at this event.... for the size of event, this was a very impressive collection of cars, especially when you consider ALL of them were "locally" owned. (within a hour or 2 of the venue.)
Hey fall guy, they never welded the doors on any Dukes cars ever. I asked every stuntman I met that played in that show and they all told me the same "they never welded the soors shut" best person to talk to is corey eubanks. hope that helps, by the way that bat boat was mine at the time, and all the cars except the batmobille belong to my best friends. I recommend going to these shows, it is really cool
re the Torino... the stripe is actually ok, its just the angle. Yes its the wrong year, but still a nice car. Re KITT, it was there, watch the other video.
