why did you yell at your kids for cutting their hair? they were just exploring and learning. they obviously know how to use scissors. give 'em a break! this was a great opportunity for the child to learn about self-image, but you made them feel guilty for their curiousity. not judging you as a parent, i just dont understand why this would cause them to get in trouble
So? They shouldn't be cutting their own hair... I don't see how she was telling them off. She basically told them not to do that because a professional has to cut their hair.

kids do this kind of stuff all the time! my brother cut my fringe one day in the summer because i kept complaining that it was hot, does that mean my mums not a good mum? of course not!
