After that, all we need to know is that He will be back. But Jesus did talk about some of the events that would occur just prior to this. And there have not been that many scoffers until about the last 200 years or so- Charles Darwin, Edwin Hubble, Stephen Hawking, and others have shaken the faith of many.

You could argue that skyscrapers are not places of worship and not done in defiance of god but that argument falls flat on it's face when we see that minarets on mosques & Hindu temples are still allowed to stand by the Christian god. Language quite clearly evolved. The roots of English can clearly be seen from various stages of input of Latin, Anglo Saxon, Nordic, French, Hebrew and more recentlty from the Indian sub continent. The "us" can be found in Genesis quite a few times. It was the transition to a monotheistic religion. The leader god, Yahweh, talks to the other gods many times and at the beginning of the Noah story it speaks of his sons sleeping with human women to make giants. The Hebrews finally changed it to only Yahweh in the later books. See what happens when one reads a book objectively, the actual text is revealed, and not just what the reader wishes it says.

I concede, this would be task, but if we could convince them somehow that by sacrificing themselves to prove, once and for all, that God is an undeniable fact, they would be doing a huge service to the LORD and would be forgiven (heck, that's what Jesus died on the cross for in their tiny minds) and would only get into heaven anyway, which is, basically, their entire reason for living. Anyways, I believe that these "bible stories" are exactly what they are, just stories. Each story has a moral, and they were probably used to give us lessons and reflect ourselves as humans.

First, WE is explained at John 1:1. Next, if you had read all the words prior to this chapter, you;d realize that Nimrod was doing everything in opposition to God. People are supposed to fill the earth and multiply. The tower represented defiance to God- keeping in mind this was post-flood. Nimrod was the father of the original new world order. BTW, true Christians know that we don't go to Heaven when we die- no human has ever gone to Heaven. Ecclesiastes 9: 5-6, Psalms 115: 17-18, and others.

One prophecy that comes to mind is that it is promised that every human who ever lived will be resurrected and come to the realization that God is real, and will bow on one knee to Jesus. @KingHeathen Unfortunately, I cannot- that is because after the arrival of the Messiah, prophecy becomes rather general; this is because the most important fulfillments pertain to His coming. After that, all we need to know is that He will be back. But Jesus did talk about some of the events that would occur just prior to this. And there have not been that many scoffers until about the last 200 years or so- Charles Darwin, Edwin Hubble, Stephen Hawking, and others have shaken the faith of many.

But a "tower to heavens" can be a rocket or some Device. Imagine if you have made the ants in your house a very special and smart and one day they decided to build rockets to shoot them up your ass.. The writer(s) of Genesis didn't even know basic laws of physics or they would have realized that the storming of the heavens was not possible by building a tower. It would have collapsed after about 50 stories. Not to mention, they didn't realize the earth revolves around the sun, instead of vice-versa. Not to mention, the heavens, if they did exist in some spiritual realm, which they don't, could not have been reached by physical means. Lame.

Their building of the tower was in self pride and ambition, preferring their own glory to honoring God . You are right tho, how big could it have been before it crumble down. It wasnt how big is the issue. It is why. And yes, probably up until them, at least those people spoke the same language. Otherwise how could they even function together. So instead of smiting them :) God screwed up their plans. And yes, I believe in God being able to do things such as that simply be him willing it.

During that time, yes I think it did simply because of the purpose of the tower. Today, we are simply to not put ourselves above God. It depends on the purpose of what you are doing or building. A true Christian wouldnt. Memorials like statues or even the pyramids is not the same thing. It truly depends on the purpose and your intent.

You could argue that skyscrapers are not places of worship and not done in defiance of god but that argument falls flat on it's face when we see that minarets on mosques & Hindu temples are still allowed to stand by the Christian god. Language quite clearly evolved. The roots of English can clearly be seen from various stages of input of Latin, Anglo Saxon, Nordic, French, Hebrew and more recentlty from the Indian sub continent. E.G. The change since the Anglo Saxon Chronicles are immense.

The "us" can be found in Genesis quite a few times. It was the transition to a monotheistic religion. The leader god, Yahweh, talks to the other gods many times and at the beginning of the Noah story it speaks of his sons sleeping with human women to make giants. The Hebrews finally changed it to only Yahweh in the later books. See what happens when one reads a book objectively, the actual text is revealed, and not just what the reader wishes it says.

I concede, this would be task, but if we could convince them somehow that by sacrificing themselves to prove, once and for all, that God is an undeniable fact, they would be doing a huge service to the LORD and would be forgiven (heck, that's what Jesus died on the cross for in their tiny minds) and would only get into heaven anyway, which is, basically, their entire reason for living. Under those criteria I'm sure we could convince a few of them to take on the challenge.

The text of Genesis DOES NOT have a word for: THE PLANET, EARTH. Especially, in Genesis 1:1. The text ONLY talks about THE LAND or better yet ... THE DRY LAND.
Genesis 11:1 continues to talk about: THE LAND. Not the entire planet earth. As a matter of fact, the Hebrew text DOES NOT SAY, "The whole earth." But rather it says, "land."
Bible References INCLUDE the word "Earth" when it defines "e'rets." But THE LAND was called EARTH .. NOT the PLANET.
