Evolution is not dependent upon my belief in it for evolution to occur, therefore, it requires no faith of any kind, for someone to suggest otherwise, doesn't know anything about evolution(you really should read more, it's obvious you don't). 2.) The big bang has never been proven, and nobody has ever made that conclusion, it is merely a notion, and scientists who have such a notion still to this day say "We don't know", again, this requires no faith.

to those arguing: one thing is clear. religion functions as a marketing scheme, replete with gimmicks and what not, with no clear-cut logical and rational means by which it can explain any of the claims made by it. religion unfortunately makes use of the fact that people tend to accept that which seems simplest in order to explain that which they don't fully understand. science on the other hand, formulates and proves its theories with rigorous study and experimentation.

You see the Earth must be younger than 30,000 years because we have not yet reached quilibrium of C14 in the atmosphere, which would take about 30,000 years. @Wordlaw12 I don't think the world is flat, nor does the Bible teach that it is. Radiometric dating relies entirely on several inaccurate assumptions. Scientists have no way of knowing that the amounts of a parent or daughter element of a specimen weren't originally in it, if the specimen has been contaminated, or if decay rates have always be constant. If even after those set assumptions are used to date something, they just change the assumptions until the date fits the theory or reject it.
pt. 2) Also, if you want to talk about CREATIONISTS using SPECULATION you are backwards my friend. Nearly ever "missing link" ever found in the fossil record is mostly, if not entirely speculation. Such as the "intermediates" between dog like things and whales, almost everyone of the intermediates are assumed to have had a fluke tail and flippers, when we haven't found any fossils to actually back up that claim. Creationists make observations, as scientists should. Evolutionists do not.

That doesn't mean that God or man alone made the Bible, but He inspired people to write it. I believe that the earth and the moon were made within a week of each other, so using the same assumptions, they should be relatively the same age. @oaaserud Pt 3) earth is really billions of years old then we wouldn't have had the moon because there's simply not enough room between us and the moon for it to come that close to us. Pt 3).... Another observation for the flood is sedimentary rock. There is no erosion between sedimentary rocks so why conclude they are different ages? We conclude it was a flood and if you put sediments in a jar, fill the jar with water, and shake it, the sediments will form layers. We make observations, preform tests, make theories, subject those theories to testing, and so on just as other scientists do. Unfortunately the scientific community is strongly bias against God.

Evolution is not dependent upon my belief in it for evolution to occur, therefore, it requires no faith of any kind, for someone to suggest otherwise, doesn't know anything about evolution(you really should read more, it's obvious you don't). 2.) @Wordlaw12 I don't think the world is flat, nor does the Bible teach that it is. Radiometric dating relies entirely on several inaccurate assumptions. Scientists have no way of knowing that the amounts of a parent or daughter element of a specimen weren't originally in it, if the specimen has been contaminated, or if decay rates have always be constant. If even after those set assumptions are used to date something, they just change the assumptions until the date fits the theory or reject it.

pt. 2) Also, if you want to talk about CREATIONISTS using SPECULATION you are backwards my friend. Nearly ever "missing link" ever found in the fossil record is mostly, if not entirely speculation. Such as the "intermediates" between dog like things and whales, almost everyone of the intermediates are assumed to have had a fluke tail and flippers, when we haven't found any fossils to actually back up that claim. Creationists make observations, as scientists should. Evolutionists do not.

@Wordlaw12 The Bible doesn't actually say that the Earth is flat. Nowadays we say things like, 'to the ends of the earth' but that's not meant to be taken as a literal statement. Also there is controversy among the scientific community that the word circular has been mistakenly placed for the word spherical.
There is a reason we don't publish peer reviewed stuff. Watch the movie "Expelled. No Intelligence Allowed" It's on netflix if you have it. It talks about Creationists not being....

Creationists observe that there are billions of fossils all over the Earth and conclude that there at one time must have been a flood that formed all of these fossils as they do not form under everyday conditions. Oh look, the Bible mentions a worldwide flood!....

@oaaserud Well first of all, you have a very common misconception of how the Bible was written. God inspired man to write the Bible. That doesn't mean that God or man alone made the Bible, but He inspired people to write it. The reason we can rely on that is there were like a dozen authors of the Bible and they all wrote the same things, usually without much or any crosschecks with the others books. Also the dead sea scrolls have proven that they are still reliable today!

I also have dozens of ways of knowing the universe is NOT that old if I am permitted the same assumptions that scientists use in radiometric dating.

@oaaserud I'm glad you bring up gravity. I think gravity is true science because it is observable, testable, and refutable. If we find a planet that meets all the requirements to have a certain amount of gravitational pull, but it doesn't, it is debunked. I don't believe we will ever find that evidence to debunk gravity, but it is possible to debunk it. Tell me how one would go about debunking evolution? Also there is no way of knowing if nuclear decay rates have always been constant, if there has been a contamination to the object being tested, how much of the parent element was in the sample, how much of the daughter, ect. Radiometric dating does not work.
I know how evolution works, I want to know which evolution we are debating. What do you believe? Darwinian evolution, Neodarwinian evolution, what? What do you think the mechanism is?

@CrossAlliance we know nuclear decay rates have been constant because our moon was a part of our planet earlier, and show the same results, there are also many other ways of finding out which i dont know about, but do a quick google search and check wikipedia. which evolution? -_- evolution is the changing of cells, the DNA not copying it self correctly over billions of years.. im not here to discuss facts, nor learn to you how our planet works

@oaaserud Again, that is a faulty reason for thinking radiometric dating works. I believe that the earth and the moon were made within a week of each other, so using the same assumptions, they should be relatively the same age. I can show you examples of radiometric dating failing if you want but I don't think you would be interested in hearing something other than you have been taught in high school.

@oaaserud Are you really so caught up on the age of the earth to respond to any of my other points? There are not THOUSANDS of evidences of an old earth, that is a lie. That's not even a reasonable exaggeration. Other evidences of a young earth would be the decay of the earth's magnetic field, the amount minerals in the oceans, the amount of novas in the observable universe, ect. Other dating methods are even more questionable than radiometric, that's why radiometric is so well known.

@oaaserud Pt 3) earth is really billions of years old then we wouldn't have had the moon because there's simply not enough room between us and the moon for it to come that close to us. The moon could have been doing this for several thousand years without it being an issue however. Please think about this as I can see both you and Worldlaw12 like to use your brains and logic. Pt 3).... Another observation for the flood is sedimentary rock. There is no erosion between sedimentary rocks so why conclude they are different ages? We conclude it was a flood and if you put sediments in a jar, fill the jar with water, and shake it, the sediments will form layers. We make observations, preform tests, make theories, subject those theories to testing, and so on just as other scientists do. Unfortunately the scientific community is strongly bias against God.

ENERGY never dies, is eternal and cannot be created. So before our universe of matter formed from Energy the Energy always existed Eternally and Infinitely, then the energy formed matter, matter in motion produces space and time. I completly agree with the scientific evedience backing this like relativity, Conservation of energy, and thermodynamics.
