I know I'll get lynched for this, but,Yngwie Malmsteen plays this on a Fender Strat. It's done live so it's not as clean but check it out any way.Bach rules...
Music exists in a realm separate from religion. Bach was one of the greatest composers who ever lived. Let's forget the religious hyperbole and leave it at that.
Of course this music is utterly delightful. But I don't see the point of all the comparative-superlative mumbo jumbo that always seems to crop up whenever Bach, Beethoven, Mozart,...etc, etc,.It's always 'God this' ,God that', 'The best ever', 'Surely the greatest...'.
surely this is the lovliest piece of music in the world..and I like Richter's performanc above all others....it is robust, musical and rhythmic...big band without being thick and dense...I love it1
Ja, live kommt diese Musik immer besser. Im Schloß Charlottenburg tragen die Musiker historische Kostüme, hab ich gehört - ist das dann nicht zu kitschig?
Subway used this song because it is not copyrighted and they don't have to get permission or pay royalties for the right to use. They are cheap schmucks trying to sell horrible subs.
lol. It seems a pitty Subway had to use the song in their commercial. It seems a bit of a waste to use this music to sell subs. Oh well...C'est la Vie
Subway had to use this song in their commercial. I randomly came across Bach in an article, I usually listen to hip-hop, it's kinda catchy. Jedi Mind Tricks has instrumentals similar to his and they use it as a sample and put a beat over it, Jedi Mind Tricks Instrumentals - Animal Rap (the instrumental one) is a good example.
@007strauss Aw man, what a beautiful way to put it... I'm not even religious, but I agree with you. It gives a kind of crystal clear, cool, watery feeling.. Like being in the Garden of Eden..
and I only mean that makes it good because rap and classical music are so completely different that when one starts using samples of the other, you know they're doing something right.
No wonder there was so much misery in the world if your god was too busy making good composers.

Bach is not God. He wrote music for the glory of God.
"The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul." Bach, Johann Sebastian (1685-1750)
