All of this has been done back in 2000 or later... mister house dot net is cross platform, windows, OSX, linux, and FREE. forget this guy. This stuff is available already. The components used to control the devices are at active home dot com. He is simply re-inventing the wheel. Sorry Chad :(
What you've done so far is really amazing, but you still have a long way to go. What I've noticed is, anytime you want your system to do something, you have to tell it a command. Basically, you've created a speech recognition program with some advanced commands. Nothing special, we've has this tech for a while. In Iron Man, the system could run on it's own without having to be given a command. In Japan, they created exactly what you have a few years ago. It's been done.
@TokyoNerd The difference here is that this dude has done all this alone... with 700 dollars, and with accessible hardware/software, if this was his work and had help Jarvis might be more like the Jarvis from the movie, and that would be fucking awesome.
@TokyoNerd what are the names of the someware or programs of what they have done, I am also working on a more simple version, and am searching google for ideas.
is it possible to give Jarvis a more natural speaking voice, more human and natural. also could you have it so you were speaking as though you were having a normal conversation, not worrying too much about total pronunciation and such, like if you were to tell Jarvis to run a slightly more vigorous task without having to over pronounce your speech an use perfect grammar
if you're going to try and do natural language processing, why not drop the "run command" suffix? you'll have to keep crunching the input audio constantly, but it shouldn't really be a problem to try and spot commands from a users, especially if you can detect inflections
@ProjectJarvis IMO I think that you should make it a "toggleable" option in case some users experience commands running before they finish speaking, or whatever other reason they may have. Just my $0.02
