I already got the MoPho keyboard (which I love), and I wonder if I'd get anything new out of the Evolver. Not sure if I could ever justify the purchase since I have my analog synth now and the Novation Ultranova for pads/movements. I also have tons of VSTs for atmospherics.
dear god why blue?- dave smiths stuff is great but his color schemes are ridiculous- the yellow themed mophos are a disgrace - fire your graphics guy---stick with the classic looks dave and then ill buy one of your awesome synths
@avinash240 yes exactly for a few hundred more ill buy the classic prophet 08- if i spend more than 500 im also paying for style and looks as well- sound is most important - my point is they look hideous to me- if you dont mind then different strokes for different folks- people at doepfer and moog still make classic beautiful gear
This is my absolute dream-synth! Too bad i'm financially-challenged atm.
It is without a doubt 1 of the most flexible and varied synths around. Those OSCs and modulations options just make for insane amounts of variation. The true stereo architecture is awesome too - dial in just a bit of L/R-split in the filter-section and hear that sound widen out in the stereo-field, simply amazing...
Finally i understand everything that this guy is saying. When i hear American,i cant understand shit:i need subtitiles. But when others like German talk English i understand everything.
mmm.. between this and a slim phatty... different beasts although both amazing... wanna have nice dirty and nasty bass for electrohouse, dubstep and drumnbass... i think ill sudenly buy both, hehe, or maybe even go for a poly...
@mynmyself Bad to base a review off of video demos, but from all I've heard, I think that the Evolver is much more interesting than the Little Phatty. The Phatty is awesome for those Moog basses (It's a Moog, after all), but the Evolver is a lot more flexible.
Also, you may want to take a look at the FutureRetro XS. It's a fantastic synth. Bought one a while ago.
@ConnorMcLeanMusic yeah, for sure the evolver has much more patchabillty... but i already own a nord modular g1, so what i was really after was a BIG bass sound (although the nord is capable of amazing crazy FM bass, bassnectar sickness!) ... i already bought a slim phatty for 500€ new on my local store... thats un unbeatable price for an analog synth! and shit, this machine sounds NASTY, although maybe a bit limited if its gonna be the only synth on your studio (only one LFO is a real pity)...
Responder a este vídeo... i am even considering buying a Cp251 in order to expand my possibilities (more LFO, and CV outputs)... that would turn my moog into a semimodular analog great sounding monosynth for about 800€, which is a pretty cool price
@christophen16 does not matter, the last key pressed is played. There is a technique one can use for solos etc, search on youtube for "alesis fusion solo"
You were only playing one of 4 sequencers right?
It's a mono voiced synth but can play four secure vets at once right?
Then you could edit each of the sequencers as they play right?

Im a vst and controller guy but would love just one hardware synth like this to play with and spice things up. Better get saving lol

@Cokoholicar everything to me and many others- - just like wood and metal instead of plastic!!!

@salvadory The color of the synth is what's stopping you from buying it and not the sound? I'm not sure what to say.

Great demo. Does anybody know if it's possible to switch the oscillators on/off using the sequencer?

@christophen16
I assume it's to get that portamento effect. Gliding from one note to another without re-triggering envelopes.

Thanks for the video mate. I'm looking to buy me one of these but can you run the Evolver with FL Studio just like a VST Plug-In?
