WOW, so KU has a few decent years plus a great year, which were all made possible by weak non-conference scheduling, and you guys suddenly think you are back... K-State has gone to 1 bowl game since that year, and got demolished. They have also had 3 losing seasons. Finally, this game marked a return to KU dominance in our series. with KU winning 4 of the last 5. That is far more representative of how the series has traditionally gone, whatever smack K-State fans talk. Back to being the 2nd team in football, like they usually were, and have always been in basketball.
This was the game that marked the beginning of the end of what was BY FAR the best era in K-State football and it marked the start of a huge surge in Success for KU. KU went on to play, and win bowls in 3 of the next 4 years, and be bowl eligible in all 4. Not to mention a BCS bowl win, 33 wins, lots of individual awards and this year I can watch allt he KU games on cable from the Northeast.
While to say this was our Superbowl is just the height of ignorance and arrogance (funny coming from an inferior program, but typical), it would be fair to say this was a VERY important game for KU.
You keep telling yourselves that K-Staters. But in reality, KSU is no more of a rival to KU than Iowa State or Baylor. The KU-KSU series is too one-sided to be considered a rivalry.
