Hey, who's Exotic up above in the top row? If it's a girl, she must need attention or somethin'... I am laughin' cause I gave her a thumbs down for a laugh!!!
It seems as if, the inspiration behind everything in art is obviously Drugs, sadly, but glady it produces such ethics that make music so pure and even give you a high from such a powered expeirience you get from just listening, i mean, bush "COMEDOWN" gives me the chills every time i hear it. But that was the past, shit has changed as you people have stated, i mean where I'm from its just fucken rap and shit, and all the bands that attempt either fail or get all studioized, it sucks have faith:)
This song is stolen. They stole the chords from "Bucket" by Neutral Milk Hotel's album "Beauty" released in 1992. Hmm. Completely unoriginal. A disgrace, actually.
What do you mean they don't write lyrics like this anymore?!? What about "I'm gonna miss you like a child misses its blanket"? Haha, just kidding, Bush was my first favorite band back in highschool. They always have a place on my playlist.
psonak...yeah what if the kid misses it blankie??? hahahaha....yeah i get it. Bush is one of those bands that really stirs your soul and fuckin rocks.
No it actually is about heroine abuse. the band has admitted this several times in interviews. Its about a girl he loved breaking his heart. glycerin as in notroglycerin is used for people with heart problems(angina pectoris). This is just figuratively speaking as he doesn't have a real heart problem. The drug meaning is hiding with the word glycerine. Instead of taking heart medicine hes using heroine.
I dont know how people can possably conpare nirvana and bush, there simalar and diffrant in there wasys, yah, bush is softer then nirvana. there boulth good
wow you can't even spell possibly right, or consider, if you had a disorder you wouldnt be on youtube and you wouldnt have been able to compare nirvana and bush
Lets just enjoy Bush for what it is. Nirvana for what it is. Pearl Jam and ect. for what they are: Great bands of the 90s and still some of the best music created.
It's hard to find a good playlist for bush because I keep getting videos of the united states former president. It's a shame because they are a pretty solid band.
this is for all you people complaining about music genres & saying that bush imitates nirvana,,
why would you search up this video just to trash it? is that how pathetic you are? i'm not trying to be mean here. i'm just trying to make a point that bush is a great band & nirvana is amazing, too. so, stop complaining & enjoy them. :]]
and oh, nirvana was not the first grunge band ever, whoever stated that. They werent even the first "grunge" band to get signed to a major label, but they were the ones who really changed the direction of music for the 90's. They were the ones who really broke loose and put all that 80's hair band shit to rest. Kind of like what 80's rock bands did to disco.
All that genre shit is bullshit anyway. Bush is a great band in their own, they write great songs and I love listening to them. I wouldnt have searched this video if I didnt. But anyone who wants to argue that Bush is a better band than Nirvana!? Haha you must be out of your mind
Grunge is not sloppy punk. Grunge is actually a more mainstream, intricate and more creative playing style of punk rock. And yes, Bush was influenced by Nirvana. But they sound nothing like Nirvana. AND. Nirvana was a GREAT band. Their songs may not be hard to play, but thats not what makes a great musician. Kurt could take a 3 chord song and turn it into a fuckin masterpiece, same goes for his singing voice. NO ONE can imitate it. Bush is a great band, but not even in the same league as Nirvana
i don't think bush attempted to immitate nirvana, they just had the same sort of view towards what their music is about and they ended up sounding the same. but that doesn't mean you have to like one and not the other because they are different artists with different songs
point taken. i actually dont dislike bush, theyre a good band. but in my opinion they were strongly influenced by nirvana as were many other bands at the time.
not everybody is influenced by nirvana. i mean yeah nirvana started in the late 80's and bush in the early 90's and nirvana was big but still not EVERYONE is influenced by them.
Glycerin's job is to make something easier to work with, something to help you swallow a pill, so to speak. Therefore, "Glycerine"...is about a relationship that is very difficult, and Gavin is singing "could have been easier on you", saying he could have made this hard relatinship easier, such as Glycerin does when used as a lubricant, elixer, etc.
Another way to look at the word "Glycerine" and to still back up the point of the song, is to know that Nitro-Glycerin is an explosive!!
To further back that up, you can also look towards the title and chorus "Glycerine". Glycerine is actually another form of the word "Glycerin", which is used as an elixer, a soap and a lubricant (among many other things). But think about it, an elixer is something you take to make you feel better, a soap is something that makes you clean, and a lubricant is something to smooth something out or...make something smoother...following me?
The whole song, basically is made of up these contridictions. She abuses him, but he loves her. Shes always there, but he feels alone. I doesnt want the relationship, but he'll always remember her...and so on. The whole relationship is a contridiction...how could you be in love with someone, and yet be so distant, hurt, and yearning for something else?
The song "Glycerine" is about a doomed love. The type of relationship you know you shouldnt be in - because you arent meant to be together, you are destructive to one another, and yet you cant leave. You can see this through various lines in the song, "If I treated you bad/Youd bruise my face/Couldnt love you more.."; "Now youre here/Now youre away"; "I dont want this/..I'll never forget where youre at"; "I needed you more/When we wanted us less"; "Im never alone/Im alone all the time", etc.
i strongly disagree. there are other bands. nirvana is not the one and only band that started the grunge scene. there where alot of other bands.
and there may have been a band before nirvana that started grunge.
you give nirvana way too much credit. bush would have still happended because bands start and grow while they still are trying to figure out what genre they want to be.
The group chose the name "Bush" because they used to live in Shepherd's Bush, London. In Canada, they were once known as Bushx, because the 1970s band Bush, led by Domenic Troiano, owned the Canadian rights to the name. In April 1997, it was announced that Troiano had agreed to let them use the name Bush in Canada without the exponent x, in exchange for donating $20,000 each to the Starlight Children's Foundation and the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
Well....Nirvana is'nt my fav band but i do give them credit in shaping music, i also believe that if Nirvana and Bush (Bush X to those fans in Canada) were still around the music scene would not have become what it has =S dont get me wrong there are still some great bands out there....but not many =(
Well whats punk exactly? most punk is just simple chords fast beats and not careing how you sound Grunge is alot like punk but more often than not has a more deeper mind set
This song stirs something in the back of my mind.. I don't know why but it has a certain Painful effect to it.. Maybe if i knew the lyrics i might understand why.

ledzeppelinguy4life 3 years ago
The group chose the name "Bush" because they used to live in Shepherd's Bush, London. In Canada, they were once known as Bushx, because the 1970s band Bush, led by Domenic Troiano, owned the Canadian rights to the name. In April 1997, it was announced that Troiano had agreed to let them use the name Bush in Canada without the exponent x, in exchange for donating $20,000 each to the Starlight Children's Foundation and the Canadian Music Therapy Trust Fund.
